    Thank you both again for another delightful lesson Charles and Gail. You have more than one gift but, for me, the important message you’re able to express is that one doesn’t need expensive equipment but just having the courage to have a go. I’m going to have a go on this subject, I’ve got the Langton paper already and I’ll make do with the rest of my equipment. It’ll be quite a change from😢 my frustrating attempts at botanical art.     Wow at last another watercolour tutorial, I know you obviously busy, but would love to see more of your work on here, I bought all the paints you use and the brushes, but cos of my depression and anxiety, I still ain't had ago, you give me so much inspiration when I watch your videos, and oooh may have to invest in your new book, cos I used to watercolour like Gail lol :)

    Brilliant lesson Charles I will certainly have a go at it. By the way, Ikea no longer have pencils, tragedy, used them for ages for golf and now drawing. I would love one of your old and worn out smocks.

    I started doing watercolor last year, and I've never been able to "mix enough" the first time for washes. I always just make a quick swatch and note on the first mix and don't fret too much over variations when remixing. Good color matching and mixing practice.

    Very nice, Charles. I love the sky, and the "lack of detail" in the bish bash bosh wobbly blob trees. The "digital" grass works well, too. Nice to "see" you, too, Gail! :)

    Excellent video as usual and great camera work from Gail. Charles can you tell us something about paper size I know you paint in A3 but any guidance or your thoughts on size choice would be useful ie it’s implications regarding design.

      I never tell anyone to change the size that they normally paint in. Because that can be very daunting. Most of the time I’m painting in half imperial.

    Excellent work, Charles!
    Suggestion: If you do this painting again, in watercolor, then consider painting the birds in a "toned-down" gray. The birds you painted are too black for my taste. Your acrylic painting had the lighter birds on-top of the darker clouds and that allows us "not" to focus on just three black birds. Opinions are like... What do I know! :)

      It’s a 1.5 inch Daler-Rowney Aquafine brush.

    Good day Mr. Evans! I've really been enjoying your watercolour videos lately (even bought a set of brushes from you), but I seem to have a problem you don't have... Every time I pre-wet my paper, it starts bulging and waving up on me, just outright misbehaving! I have two different 200g weight papers, and it happens to both of them. Any tips for a novice?

      Hopefully you’re painting on an easel, because if you’re painting flat any paper will buckle. Because the water won’t run down it will just gather on the paper.

      @@charlesevans7706 I am. I tape my paper to a flat plate, and rig up on my easel. If I put on too much water I end up with wobbly paper, if I try to be more careful with the wetness it dries up too fast. Thanks for replying! Guess I'll get some 300g paper and just keep trying :)
