This has been referenced in the Animaniacs episode “Back in Style” where the characters from Looney Tunes have lost their jobs when Warner Bros. had their animation department closed down for good meaning that their only gig they had left was to appear in a powered drink commercial, and Mr. Plotz had loan out the Warner’s into other cartoon studios until he had enough money to keep their studio afloat.
