I’m grateful for a channel like this. It’s hard to explore music with that you don’t know exists throughout the world. After all we are One world. Thank you
This helped a lot I’ve been researching a lot about Greenland,Iceland, and a bit of Alaska for a project I’m working on and the music has been the hardest part
I just discovered your channel and I love it! Thank you for the amazing work - you should totally do an option episode together with Geography Now. I'm sure the Barb will be impressed by your videos lol
I love Geography Now!! I am glad you enjoy my videos. I am a busy college student, otherwise I would totally love to travel and make more videos! Stay subscribed and thank you for your support!!
Yes! The Greenland national choir is called Erinarsoqatigiissuit which is made up of multiple groups that sing in the traditional style! I have a link in the description of this video if you'd like to check that out!
@@mynewyork165 Oh I misread the word opera when I read your comment. I did not found anything on opera in Greenland, but very much in the traditional style! It would be interesting to find!
I would argue that Greenland has a traditional culture from the Inuit natives and the Danish Lutherans. A lot of Scandinavian regions have Catholicism as an influence, but Greenland has its own distinct languages and traditions. How would anywhere have its own genuine traditional culture if we are all derived from others?
@@exploremusic2182 You have a very good point. I therefore adjust my comment: Greenland has a merged Inuit and Christian culture. And your question surely remains open.

Thank you so much!
would like to see the traditional dances and the annual festivals and folklore.
Greenlandic tradition has an interesting merge of Native Greenlandic religion and Lutheran Christianity from the Danish.
thanks for the video!

I feel like the Greenlanders learned a lot from Erik, don’t you?
In other words: There's no way that Greenland is a genuine traditional culture. It's just derived from Catholicism.
