Amazing finds. Nice to see the guns still in place after all these years. Now we know what the guns look like when you find "empty" gun placements and describe what could have been there. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. Stay safe.

I have been enjoying your channel. It is so important to keep this history alive. Keep up the good work. We in the USA still have many locations left from WWII thinking we were going to be invaded by Japan, (in particular along our West Coast from California to Washington State). In any event, keep up the good work, for WWII History Buffs like me, this is nothing more than stellar. Good work! Your channel is literally a video museum. Keep it up!

Another great video. Thank you sir. When I was a child many parks had guns from WW2 in them as memorials. Often they were British 17 or 25 pounder anti tank and howitzer guns. Occasionally they were Oilerkon anti aircraft guns, but every now and then one would have a captured 88mm from North Africa. Many of them still were able to lay and train, but all had their breech blocks removed and the barrel blocked. Now most are gone and those left are welded solid for public safety. Seeing one in its original position is something special to me. Again I thank you for your work.

Another great segment to this complex. For those interested this is what the gun tag translates as:
Distance of the line of sight from the soul axis
Vertical: 459 mm, deviation: 0 mm
Horizontal: 680 mm, deviation: 0 mm
The term used on line of sight is interesting, since a lot of the German vocabular changed after 1945 I wonder about the word 'Seelenachse'. Did you check the bore it looks like an 88mm.
Take care of yourself. Stay safe out there and regards to the family.

@@petermoller2085 Thank you for the information Peter. It didn't look right for an 88mm and naval guns seemed to be more common on costal defense for the Germans. Getting to fire one would be neat.

The Europeans don't place any value on WW2 battle sites. They're not like Civil War sites in America, which also, for that matter, are increasingly controversial.

Very interesting artifacts if only they could talk.Strange how intact items are placed or left where they can't really be seen being most likely isolated or on private land. I distinctly recall seeing large concrete bunkers on the reverse slopes along the Normandy coast when I was there, no way our tour host was ever going to stop to let us look. Myself and another chap were always holding everyone up looking at relics.

I'm amazed that the wooden flooring was still intact and the 88mm flak guns were still there also. considering how many sites you never see any left over from then, it's really a great treat to see them as they originally were. thanks again guys.

The two of you holding hands and swinging while off to another WW2 history adventure sure warms the heart. Boy what finds you two came upon. The first Regelbau was huge with the ammunition storage and of course well constructed and laid out. The barracks site by the looks of it had all the creature comforts possible for the German soldiers, under the circumstances. It does look like a wash basin/table and water tank. Knowing the Germans, they found a way to get it to work. Yes, that was quite a set of steps. Mother nature has a way of taking over for sure, but there is still lots for us to see. The other bunker with the two entranceways was also huge with the gun placement on top. That's a relief that you two were able to get cooled off a bit in the bunker. Sorry to hear that you were bitten by some nasty insect and didn't feel well after. I wonder what happened to the bunker oven. Maybe someone is using it or it was put in a museum. It wouldn't be the most comfortable for the soldiers during the winter with the severe cold temps. The huge guns were beautiful and in excellent condition. They most likely saw a lot of action. Were they SKC/32's? I would hope that they will be preserved and maybe placed in a museum. Again thanks for all your research, travelling and exploring in order to bring WW2 history for all of us to enjoy. Continue to stay safe and yes keep smiling.

This has been a great series in great location WW2HH! Seeing those guns in place was really something. I am always fascinated by the scope of the German fortifications along the Atlantic Wall and other locations, and the amount of construction that was carried out for a defence system that was used in only a few areas during the war.
Being involved in the building industry here in Australia, I have an understanding of the construction works that was required to complete some of these fortifications, and the difficulties encountered due to the remote locations of some.
I know that forced labour was used extensively to build the majority of these fortifications, I can only guess at the difficulties they encountered, and treatment they suffered under an oppressive regime.
That the evidence of their labour are still here for us to admire 75 years later is an incredible achievement.
Keep the adventures coming; we all wait in anticipation.
