    Those bunk beds look like they’ve been there awhile.
    Those chairs look 1970ish.
    My guess is someone used it as a camping place or doomsday peepers when it was still dry.
    This one looks like it’s close to the bunker that has the sand removed from around it. Maybe the people who were used these bunkbeds cleared out the sand from around the other bunker.
    Well, until water creeped in and drive them out.

      well i think they were actually flooded halfway once and now up there they are dry. Great explore and loved the location. Thanks fro watching.

    Those bunkers and to think you had to climb a tree, I know that like me you do not like heights so am very very glad you took the chance. It does seem to me they have done it deliberately to keep people out. You mentioned that the Luftwaffe are near by is this on a training ground for them? SO glad you got into that 608 can't wait for part 3! Stay safe on the Challenge Tour hope it is going well. Love from Canada

      Love to climb if i feels safe and it was pretty much safe. Could be that they removed the sand to keep people out , really dont know if that is so but it looks that way. This is not a training ground toady but it used to be. The tour is going totally AMAZING my friend and we thank YOU for the FANTASTIC support you have given us and thank you for putting so many smiles onto Eagle Eye`s face these days. Just amazed at how high above ground the entrances were for these bunkers, would they have had stairways in, or os it just te sand has been moved away from them? Well found EE, these were special. The word you were looking for at the start is Gliders, still using the airfield. Thanks for taling us along and looking forward to the next episode from here. Stay safe and well my friends

    • @WW2HistoryHunter
      @WW2HistoryHunter  3 месяца назад +2

      We think that they removed the sand around the bunkers post war. That is the only way it could have ended up like this i think. EE did so well there and very proud of hi for that. Gliders is the correct word yes. Thanks and more to come soon my friend :)

  • @northernskys
    @northernskys 3 месяца назад +2

    Looks to me as though someone has carried out sand mining around those bunkers, some time in the past. Which is why they're been exposed so deep, right down to the base foundations. That could explain the table, and beds, in the command bunker, too. Maybe the workers stayed on site between shifts. Still, it is an interesting way to actual see the entire structure. Really gives you a good idea of how much time, material, and effort, was put into building this monsters. Looking forward to seeing what other intersesting sights you will bring us, in the next Part. Cheers to you both! Stay safe!

    • @WW2HistoryHunter

      yes we think that is what removed the sand and now they are just left like that. Loved to see it like that and it shows you better how big they really are. Thank you my friend and more to come :)

    Another great video, my friend. With the bunkers so far above ground and looking at the area, the problem is twofold: keeping people out and needing gravel for post-war construction. These were great finds by EE. Correct tree climbing is becoming a lost art with today's youth. Great job, gentlemen. Stay safe and well out there on the current expedition.

    • @WW2HistoryHunter
      @WW2HistoryHunter  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes i do feel that they must have removed the sand from the area and i do also think that the bunkers were once flooded due to the lines inside on the walls. Could be that. Climbing trees is very important and you get to feel it hurts if you fall down. Thanks so much for your incredible support to the team :)

    So happy you were able to get into some of these bunkers. You could never carry enough equipment to be able to get into many of these bunkers. That was unusual to see the bunk beds and tables and chairs in the one bunker. I wonder if someone used for their holidays they took in the area. Seeing the ground around these bunkers not being there really shows how thick the floor were in them. A good foundation makes for a stronger structure. Very nice exploration.

Definitely kids should be out experiencing history and nature instead of on their their phones and computers. The Regelbau 608 was also a nice size. A shame it was flooded a bit. Stupid question, what was the normal method of building the bunker in general, dig down to start with and build in the hole , or build on the surface and pile dirt all around?

    • @WW2HistoryHunter
      @WW2HistoryHunter  3 месяца назад +1

      it depended on the location. very often bunkers were made on a set concrete bottom slab and then all the materials could be added on the outside like rocks , more concrete and so on. Some were even like 80 percent inside a mountain and just a little bit was concrete. Interesting differences out there and happy for that. Thanks from us :)
