SAILFISH: Almost a Disaster..... BUT then........

- A close call when hooking a Sailfish as my rod, line and reel almost goes over the side and into the water but for the luck of catching on the motor linkage. We go on to land a wonderful specimen Sailfish on the fly! Fantastic action and adventures on the high seas. Top action all round, beautiful scenery, boating in the South China Sea. Everything going on here! Hope you all enjoy this one!

Paul, that is a couple days of quiet contemplation followed by a few seconds of sheer terror!!! Your luck held fast...and so did the sailfish! Well done and love that you are committed to the FLY!

Yep Mike, almost a very costly mistake, a couple of lucky breaks. The rod landed handle up and also the drag was set with enough margin to allow the fish to keep taking line off the spool and not break the line or gear. Both just pure luck but saved the day. It's got be feathers Mike! Tight lines!!
Thats a real heart in your mouth moment. Glad it came right in the end could have been very costly that one and not good for the fish if it was attached to the rod.
Hey I thought about the impact on the fish if the rod was lost! That would have been horrendous. Thankfully it worked out OK! Thanks for watching!
