AMFS at 75 and Beyond, Celebrating Walter and Elizabeth Paepcke

In this short film, we honor not just our founders, Walter and Elizabeth Paepcke, but their founding ideals: the dream that sharing art and ideas away from distraction could make us better people, and in that, make a better world.
Seventy-five years later, that dream has bloomed, and is carried each summer in the hearts and minds of today’s alumni, faculty, students, and listeners. Together, “we are stewards of a tradition that will outlive us,” as Music Director Robert Spano says in the short film below, which was made to share the extraordinary story.
