Lets give thanks for AMD to pushing NVidia to incorporate such needed feature for those who wan tot OC their GPUs just a bit more, including a preconfigured-bios OC card
Why would power draw even matter? Overclocking will obviously require more power. Power supply are cheap! If worried, just keep it stock clocks or your bare minimum power supply will not handle it 😂😂😂
It's great there's finally some way to overclock inside Nvidia's driver, but who thought it was a good idea to hide it under an option in the overlay? Why not putting it directly too into the GeForce Experience option???? That's so not user-friendly!
I agree, especially with the recent news that MSI afterburner is abandoned, Nvidia needs to release a good viable alternative that will allow users to tweak their GPUs.
Great video, I just have a question.. does msi Afterburner and the nvidia app work together. Just for example if I go into Afterburner and OC from 500mhz to +500mhz = 1000, will the nvidia app read that as 1000mhz card and overclock it even more? Or will the nvidia app overwrite msi and OC from its base stats?.
Great video! I was literally wondering if there was an automatic tuning software available that tests and tunes the OC for you, in which an inexperience user could use. Thanks for the vid and breakdown!
My rtx 3080 that I got recently for $375 on ebay I was able to OC it. Zotac amp extreme rtx 3080 10gb. My clock is 2350 from 2055 what the boost was before. I had to run more volts slightly, and just go in 50 mhz increments. It finally wouldn't take more even with more volts and I didn't want to push it! I never tried the auto, and if it gets it close to what manual does then that's great actually and saves time!
I still don’t get why someone just hasn’t come up with some software to just do all this shit for you automatically Anytime you get a new system like you run the software it tests your stuff for you and then it sets it in a zone where it is still safe to run, but it has boosted your performance

I noticed while it was doing the scan that it tried overclocking the memory and also changed the voltage quite a bit while it had the GPU pegged. I think it changes memory clock and voltage under the hood.
Ive been using MSI Afterburner with my Asus RTX3070 ROG Strix OC V2, and have a stable OC at +160mhz core clock, +800mhz memory clock. Its been stable for a few months now without crashing, and i dont have geforce experience installed. Ive also set a manual fan curve, as i dont like the feature that disables the fans when not under load.

I got +114mhz and I have a 3070ti. But the fan is really loud and fast if I play games like red dead 2. I have the fan speed setting on auto. Can anyone help me?
You are overclocking, more power = more heat, your fans are trying to compensate for the higher temps. Red dead is a pretty demanding game. Turn off the overclock if you don't want the fans working that hard. If you just turn down the fans you are most likely going to see a significant increase in temps.
When ever I download Afterburner, my pc/monitors always freak out, and they freeze, shut down or just are really laggy and I don't know if I make it too much, if I over do it or it's not the right think for my graphics card, mine is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, is that a good graphics card to overclock, or a bad one to, is it too much for it?
Yes you can overclock I believe. But be careful because like you said your GPU freaks out and can potentially destroy it. Do this in the video. Only manually overclock if you know what your doing. Download new drivers too and if you do you will also have the GeForce experience
I had the GTX1650 (Super OC), and i was able to overclock it by a good amount, i think +150 core clock and +600 memory clock. If your computer freeze or crash, turn down the overclock a little. I would start with +100 on the core clock first, and see if that works. If it does, add +20 until it crashes again, and then turn it down 10 or 20 more:)
Nvidia and a mess I afterburner both make my screen go blank with trying to do the auto. EVGA‘s program worked the best and it’s auto even gets it really close to being the same as manual. But I run into save issues and stuff with a EVGA’s Precision Boost.
rest of my build is coming in today, I guess I don’t have to worry much about over clocking when I got a 4080 but I’ll do the one click so I don’t fry anything 😂
It may look like it’s still low but the point of turning those up is to show what boundaries you want your overclocking to go to. After the scan it will go back down but your gpu will still have the max setting already set when you overclocked it.
