Thank you for the video. We installed soft water system under the sink. The installer removed the filter as it was no longer required. Somehow the reset filter light came on after a year. Your video showed me how to clear the warning. Excellent video Mr Gizmo.
Thanks, gizmo guy.. Getting rid of that red light was doing my head in, and I hadn't spotted the reset instruction. On mine it was under the Cubed Ice setting on the most recent 2021 version of this great fridge. Really appreciate your help and the vids.
I use Filters Fast to order mine, $25 as opposed $50. I have to use a pairr of vise grips to get the new one in there is so much pressure. You make it look so easy.😃
@@alexpoch It's on the above video. On our first filter change we turned off the water with the result the ice making is freezing every month and my husband has to use the hairdryer to defrost it. Samsung won't help us
That's what I was going to ask. Instructions say to do that, but does that mean pulling the fridge out from the cubby it sits in? Because that's a pain.
Do the Samsung French Door with Flex drawer have an air filter? I just bought one and am trying to familiarize myself with all the maintenance points. Most similar fridges have it on the back wall toward the top, but for the life of me, I can't find it.
Great Video for those who have the regular Flex... but I have the Flex with the Touch Screen and there is ZERO Info on how to reset the filter alert!!! anyone know how?
You probably already figured this out, but you do it thru the software. At the bottom right of the screen is a bell icon, which shows your notifications. Click into that, and go to your message that says to change the filter. It directs you to enter the new filter change date right there.
Ashamed at how many videos I watched just to figure out how to turn off the indicator light... and its right there under the crushed ice button (face palm) Thank you
Delayed response, but I didn't. It was just too hard to get to. It was a little hard to pull the old filter out, but other than that, it wasn't an issue. There was no water mess.
I put a large terry cloth facecloth with soapy water into the dispenser in the door from the inside and clean dispenser and the black spring-loaded door to the outside, then I spray a sanitizer with bleach down there, then rinse well. I also use the same process to clean where the ice comes out in the outside door because sometimes someone will refill the ice in their drink and it will splash back up there. Even though the water is filtered, I get mineral deposits on the plastic tray where water and ice are dispensed so I spray a little CLR Bathrrom, let it sit for 5 minutes then clean off any mineral deposits.
You are supposed to turn off the water supply before you do this. If you don't, you have a full bore of water pressure behind the filter which when you remove it could start leaking. Of course, turning off the water supply is a big pain in the ass, because you are going to have to manhandle a fridge full of food out of its position to get behind it, turn off the water, change the filter, turn the water back on, and then push it all the way back in again, probably damaging your fridge, or your wall, or both. Samsung should have designed a water shut-off system accessbile at the front of the fridge. Terrible design.
Hi Helen. If you set the freezer to 0F everything will start to thaw. It needs to be set at well below freezing point to keep food well-preserved, so it's best to keep the freezer as cold as you can. I keep mine at -23C (I'm in Thailand) which is -9.4F. So -10F sounds like the correct setting and probably the default the fridge came set with. Hope that helps.
If you don't turn the water off at the back of the fridge it may be more difficult to remove the old filter and especially to push in and turn the new filter to the lock position. I don't have strong hands so I recommend wearing rubber gloves so you can't get a grip on the little filter handle. Push HARD because the filter has to resist the water pressure if you didn't turn water off and drain the system. You have to move fairly quickly or you WILL have some water to clean up under your crisper drawers.
We bought ours but they ran out of Samsung and we had to get a different one and since we changed yesterday our refrigerator/freezer still not cold help?
Nobody talks about authenticating your water filter by removing the little strip and placing it on the magnetized card that is provided in the box along with the filters. You rip off the tiny little tag place it on the magnet and all the little green lights will light up. At least you know that you’ve got a new authentic filter. If something doesn’t work that well, good luck I’ve been moping water for more than an hour, and I hurt my fingers big time 🫤
Very informational. I missed how to turn the filter light off and after watching six videos, you gave details instructions.

I ruined (kind of) my wooden floor by using a generic filter. Poor seal/fir and it leaked overnight. Grrrr
USE SAMSUNG!
Just tested Waterdrop model WD-F27 for the last six months and it worked well. No issues at all. I purchased at box of 6 for $47.99 on Amazon.

You are defiantly a man of good taste, nothing beats Daisy Sour Cream! :-)
Defiantly? Or definitely?
I have just changed the filter (without turning off the water) Thank you

Thank you very much, good to know about the 1/2 off at lowes with warranty
Thks for the video. Do I need to shut the water off before removing the filter?

Do you know if Costco warranty covers cost of the replacement filter like Lowe's?
I appreciated you thank you!
Question, how do you clean underneath the filter? I tried unscrewing it but it won’t come off. I didn’t want to apply force.
Great information

After changing my filter the water dispenser has a slow drip. I don’t remember it doing this the last time I changed my filter. Any suggestions?
Do you have a ice machine video

According to the manual, it needs to turn off water line from the back before replacing filter, is that really matter ?
Perfect direction!!!
Thank you

The directions say shutoff they water supply to fridge before changing. Did you do that ?
Nope. I didn’t. You can get a little water but not a lot. Just has a dish towel handy.
@@MrGizmo211 Thank you
Super helpful!
We changed the filter still no water coming out of the dispenser but I when take out the new filter depens works fine
Mine didn’t like the knock off water filter. But a different one worked.
Very helpful thanks
How do you take the glass out ?
I would l8ke to know that also,I have never seen a fridge you can't clean the glass in it.
Very helpful
Thank you so much

How do you clean the inside of the water and ice dispenser?
The ice dispenser is removable to clean. Run water they the lines until clean.

Is the $25 refund on the filter based on where you purchased the refrigerator or the filter??

Easter for me to shut off whole house outside
The last replacement was hard to insert so now it's time to change and CNN I can't get it out! Don't want to break anything. What????
I have same one but I have problems with it’s leaking water
If it is from the water dispenser - it will stop. Ours did. At first it dropped but it quits that in a few days.
My freezer temp shows -10. How do I get it back to 0?

Thanks. When I replaced the filter, it didn't sputter.
Did you have to turn off the water ahead of changing the filter. It says to turn off the water line, not sure if it’s needed.
I have never shut the water off. When you remove the filter only a small amount of water drips out. couple a water
