    Great video. My ice box is no longer working any chance you guys could do a video on troubleshooting? I have tried defrosting it and I cannot even remove the ice bin. Thanks in advance for any help or tips you may offer.

      These fridges are notorious for the ice issue. A few years ago, there were a number of known issues with the ice maker that Samsung was fixing. Not sure this is still the case, but you might check.

    Do I have to turn off the blooming water

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  Год назад

      On some older models, yes. Many newer models no. Check your specific model with the manufacturer.

    Do you really have to shut off the water?

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  2 года назад

      Older models yes. Newer ones no. You can try removing it to see with the water on. You should know pretty fast. 😎

      I couldn’t move my refrigerator to turn off water. Mine is a large french door style Samsung. So hard to get out, and then water poured, and kept pouring out on to the floor from underneath the crisper drawer! Terrible design. Also, I bought the more expensive DACOR Samsung! My old cheap Frigidaire was easy. Never had to turn off the water. I was going to just get another but decided to treat myself, and thought that the more expensive line of Samsung would be made better with less repairs and hassles. WRONG!

    What happens if you don’t turn the water supply off?

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  3 года назад +2

      On some older models, the water will flow out the port where the filter goes. On some newer models, this is not an issue. They have a shut off valve when the filter is removed that shuts the water off. Good question. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      I checked online for my model and it said I didn’t have to turn off the water supply. I didn’t and it worked fine, no leaks. Never thought about clearing out the ice bin though. Also, my second filter wouldn’t turn easily to remove, and after checking online I used the pliers method. It took some muscle! Did not turn easily.

    • @albertwassdeczege3933

      I did not turn the water off and it shot out all over the floor. Luckily I had the new filter out of the package and ready to go in so I just shoved it in there real quick.

    • @albertwassdeczege3933
      @albertwassdeczege3933 2 года назад

      Great video. However, I put my sticker on the filter itself. The previous owner had it on the area above the filter between the crisper drawers, and it was a pain in the butt to get off.

    Filter was successfully replaced. But the ice is not creating any ice cube.

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  3 года назад

      Is the filter directional? We’ve seen some that have flow arrows on them.
      Make sure water is turned back on.
      Ice maker may need to be reset.
