- In a surprising revelation, Prince Harry has expressed his thoughts about applying for U.S. citizenship during an interview with Good Morning America. The Duke, who now resides in America, admitted that he has considered taking the citizenship test and becoming an American.
This news comes amidst a week of controversy surrounding the launch of his Sussex.com website. While Harry seems to be enjoying his new life in America, this decision raises questions about his commitment to his royal heritage and the implications it may have for his future.
During the interview, Harry admitted that he doesn't feel American, but he is open to the idea of becoming a citizen. However, he also mentioned that American citizenship is not currently a high priority for him. This raises the question of whether he is willing to fully embrace his new life in America or if he still wants to hold on to his royal status and title.
Former BBC Royal correspondent Michael Cole weighed in on the matter, suggesting that if Prince Harry is serious about becoming an American citizen, he should fully commit to it and let go of his royal heritage.

I recently became a US citizen (born and raised in Canada). If Harry became a US Citizen he would have to deal with the drug use and I wonder if he could pass the test. It is challenging. He would also have to denounce his titles and British citizenship. Then they couldn’t trade off the royal titles.

I'm dyslexic, it doesn't make me stupid! I went to Cambridge, and didn't tell anyone I was dyslexic. I like, many others, felt no need to ask for any kind of academic dispensation in order to get marks we could be proud of. Aside from that...I enjoy your reporting and discussions and am NOT doing some WOKE poor me. I've had a great life, as have many others who have their handicaps. I am a Canadian who just became a American citizen in July. There are different random test modules and it can be either very easy or very hard. While in the green card process I had limbo status and NO access to healthcare, I was not allowed to work. Harry is privileged and extremely ungrateful to his family. Let him be American and let this bea green light for the Parliament and KING to strip all titles and remove him and his family from the LOS. He is a grifter and cant be allowed to use the noble royal family as props for PROFIT.
Yeah the citizenship test wasn't that hard. I did laugh when they asked "what day of the year do Americans celebrate Independence Day" (good sense of humour for this Brit..) Why were you not allowed to work while waiting for your Green Card to process? You can totally work while waiting on a Green Card, although you have to apply for Employment Authorization Document (EAD) which like most forms and fees is a pain in the arse to deal with, but totally doable. I worked the entire time in the US before I got my Green Card, and had access to healthcare

My English Great, Great Grandfather from Cornwall, had to renounce the Queen (Victoria) when he came to America. I have the papers. My English daughter-in-law is still a citizen of England, living in the USA now for 17 years.

Harry is & he can not hold dual citizenship. I urge you to think about why not in terms of both the UK and US constitution. The UK could not risk having a King who was also a citizen of a Republic. The US could not risk having a citizen who was also a King of another country. To understand history is to understand why.

I just ran across my relative's citizenship paperwork from 1884, in which he had to renounce all loyalty to Queen Victoria. Is Harry ready to sign such paperwork against his father? Yup, exactly. It says during your citizenship oath (paraphrasing) that you renounce any other citizenship you have. You are an American citizen. All titles would be renounced. That is, if he does become an American citizen, he has a lot to lose, well M has a lot to lose.
It is NOT true that Americans don't allow dual citizenship - they do, HOWEVER, if it the Applicant has any titles and royal background - THEN he would have to denounce his title. That would be the last bridge to burn. Sad, really...

Having helped people prepare for the citizenship test, I can tell you that it's not too hard if you have a decent memory. For most questions, there are several acceptable answers and most people just memorize the first one.
