Guys, your channel is very important and interesting. Please keep going. Hope you will get monetized soon. I dream about going to Mars so much, it made me switch from a generic programmer to Bioinformatics to enable our biology to survive. I am working (on my own time) on DNA damage repair, cell/tissue/organ regeneration for longevity for space travel.

When one has one's earthly needs more than handled, then one begins to think about a lasting legacy. The -problem is that far to few have their earthly needs taken care of.
That's so weird! Ever notice how the more global populations grow, the higher global standard of living? Why? More productive people taking care of the unproductive lay-about population.
People have always *felt* that way, and it does motivate many to actually do something to raise living standards. Unfortunately many people are also motivated to figure out how they can stay on the dole to just sit around watching the ball game.

@@johnn1199 No. My comment was a sideways glance at the numerous times Zubrin has claimed we'll be on Mars by a certain date! As a fellow space enthusiast I sincerely hope he's right this time as he deserves to see his dream come true before mortality claims him! Steve Martin, you're a bit of a pessimist yourself these days. Haven't made a funny film in ages!

I've never seen an interview with Robert Zubrin that didn't creep me out. Either you agree with him unconditionally, or you're just another neanderthal enemy interfering with his dreams. He's not just a hyper zealot, he's angry in a very off putting way.
Inspiring on a celestial level
"...We're going to turn water into light!" was I think, an amazing goal in and of itself.

Humans could do so much better than robots on Mars - I love his clarity and the case that he makes - clarity & strength of Purpose.
Great discussion! Thanks guys.
Very nice talk with several interesting observations and comments by dr zubrin
The why humans instead of robots rant was legendary!
THE BEST GOAL - is now mars, Zubrin.

Zubrin is the exo version of Jordan Peterson

Independent Rider ...because you’re a pessimist?
Because you find it easier to assume failure of a grand goal than to risk hurting yourself by hoping for something good to happen?

It’s not about getting to Mars, it’s more about getting to, and being on Mars safely without being subjected to radiation/solar flares etc

Fact check we will never live on Mars
True, you won't.
