Mr Marty Kroft Thank You so much for giving Jack Wild the platform that you did. I love Jack Wild immensely. His appearance in Pufnstuf gave me hope as a child. And to think that you were also behind that, I have nothing less than lots of gratitude for you and for the opportunities you gave him. Btw that concert was just wowza. Must've been an amazing night. Thank You sir. And Thank You Jack. Though you are gone, and I miss your presence here in the physical immensely, it's nice to know that yours and Mr. Kroft's partnership was 'meant to be'. I saw the live Sid and Marty show at Knotts berry farm when i was a kid . It was an incredible show with all the great characters . There were giant inflatable pufinstuff characters at the finale. I will forget it only after I die

During Jack Wild's special guest appearance on Sigmund and The Sea Monsters, Sid and Marty Krofft tried hard to persuade him to remain in Hollywood permanently so that he could easily audition for other film and TV projects. But Jack instead chose to return to England and focus on prestigious British productions. If Jack Wild had stayed, he might have earned guest roles on popular American shows like Happy Days, Charlie's Angels, 3's Company, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Little House On The Prairie or Donny and Marie. He also could have entered
The Betty Ford clinic and gotten his alcoholism cured. One can only imagine the possibilities.
@Chazarcola That sounds a little hard to believe being that Jack's career took a stall pretty much around the time special was filmed at the Hollywood bowl and he jumped at the chance to be there i.e he was desperate for work. So I don't see why he would leave a bigger market i.e America to go to a much smaller market i.e U.K that too when he was already experiencing a stall he was frantically trying to avoid. I'm not saying Sid Kroft didn't do anything for him. I appreciate that he didn't just invite him to participate in the Hollywood Bowl, but also made him star in a n episode of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. But after that, no obvious effort seems to have been made to get him to stay or to show him his possibilities in America, which I very much believed he would've pounced on, had he been given the possibility of staying. And my goodness @ the possibilities, you show. It does make you stop and think what could have been. But its also a little fantastical because at the end of the day, I do believe the U.S. just as much as the U.K, snubbed him, because let's face it, at the end of the day, he was simply seen as an ephemeral commodity that was replaceable.. No one was really interested in saving his life. Travel Well Jack. You deserved more in this life than what you got.

i grew up with jack,it is so sad ,the drink,and the smoke,took him,but it was very beautiful thing we had him as long as we did. JACK YOU WERE REALLY LOVED.

RIP Marty & Jack! I met Sid Krofft at the PALM restaurant in West Hollywood back in 1991 - what a fun and funny guy - he had a great joke - he said to me, "Do you know who was asking about you? I replied "No, who?' and he said "No one". Hilarious! What an amazing career - he and his brother were so much a part of my childhood. Also I noticed that annoying "canned" laughter cue at the 7:04-7:05 mark that has been overused in all the TV shows from the early 1960's until the early 1980s (it sounds a bit like a Paul Winchell "Scrubbing Bubbles" style laugh) - it seemed to be used as a "sweetener" to fill in the gaps in the laugh track - I mostly hear that "laugh" sneak its way into shows like "THE LUCY SHOW", "THE BRADY BUNCH", "BEWITCHED" (the Dick Sargent episodes), "HAPPY DAYS" & "M*A*S*H", to name just a few and now that laugh has infested the world of Sid & Marty Krofft! It was enough to make Jack Wild!
Love Jack Wild. I grew up with Oliver! being a staple film in my home, both of my parents loving musicals, and here in England we always have Oliver! playing on TV on random Sundays and around Christmas time. Jack is absolutely phenomenal in it. He and Ron Moody truly make that film a masterpiece. What Marty said about Jack at the end is so true, he was an incredible talent. Definitely recommend his biography “It’s a Dodger’s Life”, it provides insight into his wonderful and crazy world. He talks about his time on Oliver! and H.R. Pufnstuf, as well as so many other things. Rest in Peace, Jack ♥️
Love his shows. Some didn't make it to AFN so I can watch them now
I remember when Pufnstuf started (I was three) and I kind of tuned him out because I couldn't understand his accent. And the next year, The Bugaloos started and now there were FOUR cockneys and I was so perplexed. I was like, 'there's something going on here...I'm missing some facet of language and I'm in over my head.' Maybe by the 2nd or 3rd rerun of Pufnstuf I could understand him and I was okay.
I didn’t know Jack was dead.

I don’t understand why Marty felt it was necessary to separate this child from his parents. Can you imagine living with your boss as a child?.. Where were his parents?? I just think that part is so sad and not right, despite loving the artistry and world building of these shows.. just saying..
