I only have 3 frags with double shot on my chieftain and im almost oneshotting people already. Replaced the small ones for railguns for long range coverage though. But watching this video makes me think... Who needs railguns?
Frontier knows about this already Im sure.. the lack of ammo, and the extreme short range compensate for the damage output.. I think we are safe.. hehehe

Your shields on the other hand regenerates faster as you send more energy towards it. So ideally you wanna keep 4 at sys at all times. In a nutshell: do the opposite as the guy did on the video lol
Wellington Clayton uh, not really. Your capacitors hold charge until it’s needed. Keeping 0 pips to systems means that you can use that power in engines or weapons until your shield capacitor is drained and then you charge systems up as needed. He explained that in another video.
I put 6 double shot frags on my AspX, and it can often one-shot NPCs in a DBX and smaller when I do it right. Makes it so I can chew up anything bigger since I can stay on their butts and get shots in, and anything really nimble I just need to hit it once or twice.
Ive been using a Python with 2 large long range pulses, the rest is gimbaled double shot frags (with one "hull softener" and one thermal. It's great fun. With 4 pips to engines and 2 pips to weapons, I never run out of juice on either. The pulses soften the target and also keep dmg on target even if it is far away, not to mention those tiny gnats that keeps evading my turbo las... ehm... frags... When they attack me... BOOM-BOOM BOOM-BOOM BOOM-BOOM as they pass. I've been thinking about a more dedicated heavy fighter. Maybe the Krait will do, or the Challenger? Wonder how they compare to a FAS or Gunship...

Yeah, it's more of a joke of how Frontier tends to 'panic nerf' things that appear too 'OP' at the time. So, if the Krait is a more PvP orientated than the Python, then what purpose does the Krait serve when its PvP utility is actually limited? Exploration? Apparently it has a good jump range.

With deep plated lightweight reactive armor, an armored plant, 6c thermal bi weave, a full set of deep plated HD HRPs and two 2d MRPs I'm boosting at 497mps with 4.65k, 52/41/53 hull And a 476mj, 50/57/64 shield.
I think the point in the end is it basically gives a low target number assasination setup. Nothing else does this. The max you can do is potentially rapid fire screening shell(although it might not be accurate in coriolis.) either way it's good for single target get in get out if that was an emphasis in the game. I haven't done much combat stuff but it's atleast good for actual assassination missions. I think the T-10 can get just over 3k dps with premium ammo. It probably won't get nerfed(I hope) as it fills in an actual part of the game. it has intentional limits and fits that bill perfectly. We just need more stuff in game to utilize it. Maybe we'll get more advanced higher grade assassination stuff later. Or could a group of these be used effectively against those capitol ships effectively? Could you solo a capitol ship with one?
I have a huge list of ships I want to try these on. lol... But yes.. Before I thought frags were meh... but now... I have converted.. I just wish they sounded better when you fire.
There are many tutorials online on how to do it. To get my exact colour, just look at the bottom of the description in any of my videos, and it will give you the right code to use.

Are all of the engineered frag cannons also semi-automatic (besides the 2 per trigger press from the doubleshot effect)? What does it mean for rapid fire, do I need to press the trigger 6 times a second to get the effect?
And if you want even more dps, use the pacifier frag, longer range but fixed... BOOM BOOM BABY! Also overcharge provides a higher output on paper(not tested personally), but i would recommend one frag with the corrosive shell mod and it will melt anything, check it out s.orbis.zone/yzm_e_F7

Doubleshot frags are a no-no. They are only decent in PVP, and even then, only for a short time before you run out of ammo. You have two proper setup for frags. First being Overcharged (pvp) and High Capacity (pve). Two should have corrosive and Drag. The rest screening shell. You can also put Incendiary on the larges, but with the damage output as is, it's up to player's choice.
High capacity is really the worst possible choice ever since it won't buff your dps. You have more ammo but you'll be also needing more shots per target so one neutralizes the other. In the end you're only making your kills take longer. Not to mention they're cheap to synthesize so who cares.

With all due respect, these were all targets that didn’t know you were about to open fire, and so you could line up a perfect opening shot. In reality it can be quite hard to hit nimble targets with frags, would love to see a video demonstrating the piloting skills for a real frag battle
how come my frag cannons with DS only do about 1- 4% Damage and other players guns obliterate Condas in 3 bursts btw I got 4 engineered frag cannons with double shot on a AspX

I might try this kind of build with a FAS...it looks perfectly suited for it.
The most fun I've had while bounty hunting has been in my Keelback with all double shot frags and a rapid scan KWS.

My new favorite weapon. Not only is the damage insane but you can use them effectively with 1 pip in weapons and the rest on shields and thrusters.

Try OC with the screening shell effect. Slightly less burst damage, but a very fast reload and more damage overall more than makes up for it

Runnning them on my fully engineered Krait right now.. Weirdly the Chieftains loadout seems to do more damage... But I am still testing and recording.

the only thing about ammo synthesis that still bothers me is basic only reloads 50% ammo while the other two refill completely AND boost damage

I suggest putting the Cannons on Gimballed so it's not a pain in the ass to line up shots sure you'll lose some damage but engineering makes up for it

So don’t use this build on PvP. It’s meant for melting PvE ships
