@@Chriswales Are you talking about the new guy, Ant? I hated to see Edd go. He was great. Explained everything. And here's a strange thing. Great Britain seems to have about 900 times the cool custom and parts shops as the US. You'd think, since the US is larger, that it'd have so many more. Nope. GB has got specialty shops all over the place. I saw the episode on banding wheels and out of curiosity, checked the US. I found 5 places. What? I thought we like car gurus. Nope. Anyway, the show got bought and moved to Calif and the company said it couldn't afford to do the show like it was made in GB. What? Do you remember the first couple of seasons? It must have cost a whole dollar to produce. Well the Americans can't do anything without throwing a load-o-dough at it and must have had about 500 assistants on the fucking payroll, so Edd said fuck you and have a nice day. My personal opinion is that Ant smiles too much and I miss Edd's way of detailing all the little stuff. And he wasn't a windbag either. Why am I preaching to the choir? You know all this. Have a good day. I seriously thought of moving to GB for that reason. PS, I used to work in television and it's filled with no-talent backsliding donut eaters. I think I got physically ill some days because of the stupidity. I know from whence Edd comes.
You don't need a ramp to do the anti roll bar bushes or the drop links (normally do together as the drop links tend to go first), put the suspension up as high as it will go with the front either on drive up ramps as long as they are flat and undo the bolts, as long as the vehicle is flat and evenly loaded its easy. However you need to have the boot open or pull the EAS fuses so it won't drop, and put axle stands under the chassis (not the axle) to be double sure, wheels chocked, in park hand brake on and key not in the ignition. You can service loads of a P38 without a lift if you are careful , including changing the air springs if you really have to.
These kinds of small rubber parts are really hard to find, it might take them a whole day, a whole month to find, comparing to 55 dollars to swap the entire unit, the labour cost on finding that rubber seal most of the time are way more costly than 55 dollars.
Ed I’m from Cyprus and I just bought a Range Rover 2005 and I have air suspension inactive but the light on the button is in middle but I doesn’t goes up or down , please help me what to do 🙏
Why does everyone here hate Ant? He's every bit as competent as Master China, just different type of personality. He really bought me with bumper and exhaust fabrication from the scratch. It's Brewer who spoils every episode, esp. since he started doing smaller interventions on cars (interior, few screws here and there...). Really kills this show.
Fortunately The Brewer has always got limited screen time but yes he is popping up more and more these last few series. He has always ruined the show. We need Ant and Edd to team up and do their own show.
I haven’t seen you stuck for an answer or technical issue. However, I have an problem an you have a challenge with my P38 (1996, RHD, 4.6 HSE). I need to replace the battery. The bonnet release mechanism failed to open on driver’s side. Tried pulling both, separately and together., still driver side locked. Q. How can I get the lever to ‘unlock’? StuartH
If it were mine, I'd just adapt any old aftermarket 12-volt compressor that has the capacity, such as an offroad air compressor. Might have to re-route and extend the wiring/hoses, but you could end up with a much better quality of compressor?
That is exactly why Edd China is doing the show. Stay original where massive improvements are not available. Like switching drum to disk on back axels of any modern car. The Landy air pump is fine 2nd hand the middle path. Yeah Edd China!
the problem isnt the better quality compressor , its the range rover computer and sensors, it knows what voltage and capacity the old one was , the new one has to then be programmed into the ecu otherwise the whole computer gives errors, they quite finicky.
@@jonathandalton2921 the air supply is irrelevant, the EAS ECU is dumb to the details of what is actually pumping air. The compressor is fed through a relay in the fuse box, but has an overheat sensor that the ECU can read, apart from that you could use anything that'll provide 130psi. I've had three and currently still own two of them, once you work out how it works it's pretty simple
Ya maybe you are right , why do they need Brewer ? He only started the show and provides all his knowledge in bringing in the right cars for Edd or Ant to repair. Maybe it's his personality you don't like or his high charged antics. Both Edd or Ant are both gifted mechanics . It's one of the top car shows on TV.

Ratings are probably worse than expected so they decided to try and make some revenue by uploading videos with Edd in them on youtube? Oh well, glad I’m using AdBlock.
This Video was good morning coffee viewing, until That tool shows up at the end. Almost managed a good WD vid till Mike Brewer turned up. I've hated him since he decided to spray paint a 205 parcel shelf to make it look like a GTi one. Sodding cheapskate.
Ant does a much better job in For The Love Of Cars in Wheeler Dealers it is like he is trying to hard to be like Mike Mike and Edd worked much better together Time in the garage working on cars is about 15 minutes less then the time in earlier episodes
@@Tbss77 yep, the ride is awful and you end up speedboating with a heavy trailer. If you do fit progressive springs for towing the rear ride and noise is then terrible.
Instead of replacing the air compressor with a used unit, which may or may not have (or soon to have) problems, why not just replace the seal and cylinder parts for $30?
Don’t use Boulevard Motors aka WestLondonMotorCompany aka BD Car sales Ltd aka BD Car Sals Ltd aka Ali and Sons Ltd aka Horsenden Motors in Perivale London.
On an anti roll bar it makes little difference, however anywhere else and yes it'll be noisier and harsher. I put them on one and took them off the next weekend, it degraded driving something akin to a Cherokee, waste of money
You always respect your listener. Air suspension has always fascinated me. Job done. I get it!

The most important part of this fix is that Edd knows the peculiar quirks these vehicles have, so he knows where to start in order to fix them.
Just watched this episode and Edd had to install the front fog lights, just as I was thinking what are the 'pipes' were for, he explained. Top bloke.
Bring back EDD. Need him back. he's the best
BRING BACK EDD, Ant will never be a replacement
Edd love you always
I was really enjoying that until the nasty surprise at 7:40

Make Edd the WD mechanic again and I'll watch WD again.
Simple

Mechanic genius!
I'm surprised ed didn't just change the seal on the piston.
Freaking known it someone will ask this kind of question.
Me too, rebuild kits are $20 lol
If there is one mechanic i would blindy give my RR P38 to it would be Edd China.
Ed p38 wizard 🧙♂️
I sure miss Edd and Mike together doing their thing.
Edd you are wonderful machnic 👌👌
makes no sense to get a second hand part when you know its going to have a worn ring, why not just replace the ring once you had the compressor apart?

renting out spaces with car lifting is a great idea. I have no such service in my country.

Since we had a car turn up on the back of a trailer. Why do so many people say that! The car is on the trailer... it’s not just sat on the back of it.
don't replace edd but replace mike
My P38 was an absolute pos. Two weeks wouldn't go by without needing a trip to the dealer for repairs.
Why not bypass the air ride with coil over springs and shocks with a kit from suncoreindustries.com in Florida USA

I don't know if they have drug dealers in the UK, but if they do, i'd imagine they'd drive these. Especially with that tint.
Could have fixed the pump for a lot less!

In all honesty when I get a P38 in the future (unlikely) but I plan to just rip out the air suspension and spring mod it
