Flake was getting bored just standing behind his keyboards while Till and the guitarists got to move around. He experimented with riding a Segway on stage for a while but unfortunately ride it into Till, damaging Till's led which in turn led to some concerts being postponed. So, to keep Flake occupied and everyone else safe, the treadmill was brought into the stage setup. He can walk/run up to 17 km during a concert and then often walks back to their hotel afterwards as he's rarely recognised out of his stage gear and make-up. It's fair to say that he's very much his own man😃

For a concert of about 2.5hrs that would average around 7km an hour constantly, I find that a tad suspicious. Can't remember how long their concert was when I saw them but pretty sure it wasn't even that long either, I have a suspicion this is another of those incorrect 'facts' that's been circulated like the one where the lightning effects in the Du Hast video were real (which they absolutely aren't)
