They are considered the top most entertaining band in the world. It makes me happy to see other people discover them. Till is the lead singer. He also is a certified pyrotechnician. They have pyrotechniques in every concert.

Love this song. My second favorite Rammstein song.
This is basically about the darkest form of sadomasochism. Inflicting pain on someone to feel good. At least that's how you get the first impression. The plot twist, however, is at the end, because everything he has said, he sings into a mirror. That means, he inflicts this pain on himself.
Till likes pain in real life so the song suits him.
Ohne Dich and the Piano Version of Mein Herz Brennt are extremely cool
I must say Rammstein are the big ones when it comes to performing with pyrotechnics and acting on stage. And Till Lindemann the vocalist is a licensed pyrotechnician.
Sabaton is another good band from Sweden that does good stage performances. Both bands do amazing music videos, Sabatons music is mostly history related.
After watching your emotional videos on disturbed and five finger death punch. I recommend watching Christmas truce from sabaton. It will hit you deep in the feels also as it depicts the Christmas truce in WW 1.

Actually, the entire band are certified pyrotechnicians, but Till holds a higher license. He designs most of the fire stunts, but the whole band are exposed to the pyro.

Rammstein has a lot of great songs, but "ich tu dir weh" is one of my favourites from them. I have seen them live in their early days just after they started to getting famous. Regarding your question about the show, if anyone does a similiar show. I haven't seen anything like it, yet.
Just saw them live last weekend, and yes every songs performance is this intricate.

After "Ich tu dir weh" in the lineup there was "Du riechst so gut".
Even in the 2016/17 lineup these two songs were one after the other. You can see a fantastic performance of "Du riechst so gut" in the Live Hellfest 2016 video
I love so much to see your reaction on Rammstein. I am 73 years old and a great Rammstein Fan. By the way, the keyborder, who always plays the clown, is a very intelligent guy who wrote two books about the beginning of his career and the second about Rammstein. I read the two books with great pleasure. The title of the first is "Tastenficker" which means "Keyfucker", the title of the second book is "Heute hat die Welt Geburtstag" (Today the world has its Birthday). The song title means "I hurt you". Its kinda a twin meaning between a sadomasochistic relationship and self harm (he talks about seeing himself in a mirror so could be inflicting pain on himself." Flake is safely hidden under a protective cover in the tub, Till takes good care of him lol. You're almost ready for Mein Teil..and yes, all the songs are like this lol
... which is already a good metaphor for BDSM, since the essence of the kink is to inflict pain, but at the same time to take good care of each other and to trust each other completely.
Thank you for providing the more nuanced explanation of the song. I'm tired of seeing people describe the song as being about BDSM and leaving it at that. Imo there's clearly self-harm references littered throughout. I noticed lately that in the first verse that the line that goes something like "THE body, now totally destroyed" is translated in English to "YOUR body, now totally destroyed" for a reason I've yet to understand. I wonder if stuff like that contributes to the very one dimensional reading of the song a lot of people seem to have?

If you all ever decide to do a full concert ... You have to do Völkerball both from Nîmes and from London..This is (not only) my opinion but plenty of other Rammstein fans will say that Völkerball is the best or one of the best Rammstein concerts. The problem is it will have to go on patreon because they always get completely blocked unless you filter the heck out of it...But yes highly highly recommend and would happily join patreon just to watch your reactions...I wish more Reators would consider reacting to Völkerball Concerts 2004-2005.. they're just that good...the other Top Rammstein concerts are Live aus Berlin 1998, Live in Paris 2017 and MSG 2010. 🙂❤
The metal tub actually has like a (excuse my terminology) a metal kinda shelf that the keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz hides under so he's safe..then he emerges like a Phoenix goes to his keyboards but winds up exploding in the end..

Fantastic band! Concerts are stupiinsane! As you see. Their music videos are of a very good production as well. I plan on seeing them next year when they hit the USA. (If we haven't fallen apart over here.) I'm pretty sure they will be playing near you.
I heard them right as they came out. I lived in Atlanta from 78 to 98 (57 now) They were played at Hard clubs and Raves quite often. Man that shit would get the crowd rocking! You'd hear them at parties as well. I think I might still have that import of their first album. It got left at my house after a party I threw. Nobody laid claim to it.( "Harzelied" ) Atlanta was buzzing as the Olympics were rolling in. Man.. oh man...the nineties were good to me.
The song " Ich tu dir weh" was at first banned because "Germany's office for the examination of media harmful to young people (BPjM) announced that Liebe ist für alle da (Love is There for Everyone), and the song Ich tu dir weh (I Want to Hurt You), were harmful to children, saying that Rammstein were glorifying violence and unprotected sex."
I believe the song isn't just about torturing others..one interpretation is the part where he sings "Ich seh im Spiegel dein Gesicht" "I see your face in the mirror"
Means he's actually talking about himself...since Till likes pain so this would make more sense in terms of self harm.
Also it could be a relationship between 2 consenting adults where one is the "torturer" and the other is the "victim" but they both enjoy it..They could also be making fun of some relationships the whole "make him pay" or "if he/she really loves you they'd do anything for you" men fighting and killing each other over a woman....females getting into fights because "that girl looked at her man" type of thing...

Fun Fact: Rammstein in Amerika; from which this video is taken, documents the sold-out show the band played at Madison Square Garden in New York City on 11 December 2010. But interestingly the majority of the footage for the entire documentary was recorded at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on 9 December 2010.

Rammstein is the greatest live band in the world...this is their JOB, and they work very hard to give their fans their money's worth! They are also one of the biggest, most popular international bands, still packing giant stadiums. Their current stage setup takes nearly *6days* to build for each show!
They use an oily, dirty substance on themselves as a fire retardant...thats why they look "dirty".
Pick any song, a live performance, and you will be happy! Rammlied should be next. Then work up to Mein Herz Brennt and Sonne...then work back to their older work...the songs are just as awesome now as they were in the 90s!

Best band on the planet. To some of the songs like "Mein Teil" or "Wiener Blut" you might wanna do a little background check. They are based on true events. Takes the joy and chill factor to the next level.
By the way "educated marine" does a great job with the translation in the videos. Check out his channel. I don't care which songs you guys react to next, because they are all great. But "Rammlied" at the MSG is the show opener and a nice continuance on your Rammstein journey.

This song has to be one of the most psychopathic and sadistic songs I've ever heard. It's a shame that there are many fans that don't understand German. Even when it's translated it's realy not the same. But music at the end of the day is a universal language.

I don't think anybody does Liveshow in the same way as Rammstein does, but a few things to remember, IIRC the whole band got pyrotechnician certifications, cause everything else would be unsafe, and Till Lindemann didn't actually want to be a singer, cause he had stage fright(started as a drummer), hence why he never actually looks at individual people and the pyro show helped with that.

They are "industrial", second of all the lead singer Til is an expert in the pyrotechnic . So he wears a fire proof gel that Looks like dirt or oil on stage just in case he gets caught on fire from the flames..
They really did not noticed that tub was not connected with floor. That it is only tub and fireproof blanket. You could clearly seen tub moved and..... I mean it is Rammstein they always do this kind of stuff....
