I can so relate to this now. After covid booster I developed tinnitus and vertigo with hyperacusis. Your videos have helped me enormously. I have had it 5 months now and with your advice I wear eat plugs some of the time and the rest of the time I get on with it and force myself to stay in room when kettle is boiling, stay in garden when lawnmowers are on and it sometimes makes the tinnitus louder for a time but gradually I feel things are settling down. Thank you for making these videos.

Suffered tinnitus after an assault by a patient leading to severe head trauma. I work as a psychiatrist and obviously the facility I work in is loud, aggressive, and often dangerous..I had to adapt, you have to let go of the old you, force yourself slowly into environments that are loud.. I'm 5 months in and I feel it's mostly manageable.

When I first developed tinnitus I also had horrible noise sensitivities. Loud noise made me insane. I would run away crying. It felt like bat hearing. I could hear things others could not too. It took a few years but it is now gone. Dealing with tinnitus now using Treble maskers. Dr Tracy and Dr Sarah have been so helpful. I think I’ll make a full recovery in time.

Dr Ben has developed a treatment protocol that has given me a tremendous amount of relief from the anxiety/distress commonly associated with tinnitus & Hyperacusis. I highly recommend Treble Health. They truly care about their patients. 👍

Thanks for this. Yes it's lonely and isolating. Hyperacusis should be spoken about more. I got H when T started 3 months ago. At first the fridge, freezer and car engine sounds drove me nuts and I kept unplugging them and obsessing and panicking. The H is worse than the T. For me it's the up close sharp sudden kitchen utensil cuttlery sounds, ripping paper, screaming kids, rattling keys, etc all hurt and put the fear in me. Text message sounds hurt too. I got rid of my plates for plastic plates etc. I notice good solid REM sleep helps. But reducing anxiety helps too. I don't know what Hyperacusis is but it's very nasty living with it.

I'm 55, I have been having misophonia for at least 15 years, hyperacusis for at least 7 years, and tinnitus since October 2021. I'm sure the root cause of all these problems is a type of anxiety. By focusing on management of the anxiety, my problems is gettenig better, although VERY slowly, but at least I know I'm on the right track. If I can not get desire result through anxiety treatment, I will get help from your device (Treble Masker).

    Dear Dr. Thompson:
I'm 110% sure my form of tinnitus in my right ear resulted from TMJD trauma. But so far, I have NOT seen any ENT that even acknowledges tinnitus can develop from TMJD trauma to the ears. My right ear begins drum beating or thrubbing vibration or tapping whenever I lie down on right-side. That is more like physical Vibration or Tapping than just a sound. It's starts slowly and goes like 100 miles per hour. It only stops either I move to left-side or plug my left ear. Now days tinnitus also kicks in when playing something on speaker phone or talking on the phone.
I also have some hearing loss in my right ear.
One Audiologist suggested it's muscular tinnitus.
No ENT ever suggested to try a haring aid. I asked my last ENT for hearing aid and he refused said it will NOT help. More than decade gone by and things only gotten worse. My sleep completely damaged. I cannot find any help. I look older than my age. Over the years other health issues developed. So it has become a nightmare. Then I saw your channel and thought may be there is hope. No form of sound therapy helps. Those cricket sound or white noise makes it worse. Please help.

Hi, it almost sounds like what I was hearing every time I laid on my right side. I would hear buzzing, thumping and some crackling. My ent suggested hearing aids which I already had and I think they helped get rid of the noises in my ear. If you have the same thing then chances are it will eventually come and go for awhile before it goes away. Nowadays I lay on a next pillow on it's side so my ears don't touch the bed.

Hey! Thanks for your question. Having hyperacusis might make it seem like normal sounds are damaging something in your system but it is NOT. Normal sounds do NOT cause nerve damage. Hope this answers your question!

I attended a concert back in September and since then. Loud noises just dishes banging, beeping sounds sirens even loud rooms are bothering me. It was definitely worse a month ago. Also buzzing in my left ear. I'm finding the anxiety makes it worse too. I was just diagnosed with sleep apnea with loud snoring so maybe that could be it as well. Hopefully I will figure this out soon 🙏

Tinnitus and Hyperacusis are really hard to deal with. I had them few times from my childhood until now and I always improve them with optimal sleep. Especially REM sleep, because during that phase we not only remember, but also we forget and recontextualize. After some event, if possible - I try to nap and invoke some dreaming.
Now my T is improving but the H is still the real challenge for me. Can You provide good earplug as a comment ?

@@Sweden-wd5lg TRT (tinnitus retraining therapy) doesn't work, it's been studied, but you can accept tinnitus and notice it less and less. it's always there though, at varying intensities. It never gets filtered out. You just get used to it and notice it less. Once you can accept it you can start to forget about it. Takes a while for this process. People do TRT and think it worked, but it's just that they got used to their tinnitus naturally as they would have without TRT. Kind of like a placebo effect. In these cases TRT can get the credit, but it did nothing.
