@autochatter I know a lot of people probably blame GM for Isuzu's struggles, but I think GM deserves a little break with this one. Isuzu would have left the US much sooner if not for the GM support. Even in other markets today, Isuzu isn't doing too well. Their current pickup is a Mazda-derived product. I'm not even sure what they make on their own.
@doug6191 It never ceases to amaze me how a car maker known for building trucks and SUVs, managed to fail at a time when these were red hot sellers. Isuzu had no identity of their own by the end. Sure they basically developed the Colorado, but no one knew or cared.
I agree in that if they actually released a four door version of this it might had sold much better. Think back to the blazer, even GM had to release a four door version of that and it sold much better when they did.
@autochatter Hey, I love your videos. You do good work here and I enjoy them very much. I am just throwing that out there. It's an honor to get a response, and I hope that you have a great day.

@@jasonsobol32 I sold Azteks new at one point. @jasonsobol32 I appreciate out of the box styling I guess. The VehiCROSS had visual cues not needed, but it was a purposeful offroader....Because it was based off a more practical Trooper.

Don't know how I missed this episode, but TBH the only think which appeals to me about this vehicle are the Recaro seats- the rest is forgettable. Maybe it had to do with corporate decisions or maybe it was the times, but I expected Isuzu to hold the market niche which Kia does now- economical but good-for-the-price cars but instead they faded away.
That was interesting for a different vehicle. I was laughing at the GM comments about the Isuzu models. A rebadged Chevrolet Trailblazer that did not sell well and what the line up at the end. 27 years old design...!! Incredible..!!!
Yeah I still think it looks great.
The Vehicross along with the Axiom were among my favorite vehicles when I was in high school. Still want one. 😊
@Hobotraveler82 I've driven a few Axioms. They are nice, but it felt like a Rodeo to me.
Joe Isuzu was the best pitchman for any car company in the 80's and 90's. Like if you agree.

@P_RO_ They were too slow to adapt and paid the price. As Isuzu gave up on cars in the early 90s, the rising landscape of Crossovers bowled them over.
The person that named the Axiom got one for free when they were produced.
