    Great video, you do a great job of explaining what and why you are doing each operation. I also have ordered a Onefinity CNC, so that is how I came upon your video - getting ideas about an enclosure and table designs. I do have a couple of suggestions - 1. the power strip you installed under the table...I would suggest cutting the dado large enough to get the electrical plug through. Otherwise, you will have to cut the cord if you ever decide to move or remove it. 2. Do you think the overhang on the front of the table is well enough supported for the weight of the Onefinity? The cantilever design looks great - like a wood cabin - but I am not too sure about how good that plywood is going to do with the weight of there CNC. Of course, you did buy 1" Baltic Birch, which is probably around 20 layers thick, so that is some great stuff there. Just a couple thoughts...by the way, my Onefinity order number is 15965, so they gave me a July delivery date!! Thanks, Charlie from Central Ohio.

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 года назад

      Hey Charlie from Ohio, thanks for the comment and for the suggestion. You make a really good point about the dado channel for the extenion cord. I am actually going to make it larger so I could fit a plug through if I ever needed to. Otherwise I would have to take the entire CNC off to do so. Great suggestion.
      I am not too concerned about the cantilevered section from the CNC standpoint. The front "feet" of the OneFinity only overhang the support by ~6" or so, which shouldnt be an issue for the 1" birch ply. I place the canteliver supports in the middle for more support for whatever the NC is carving (e.g. cutting boards, table tops, large sheet good, etc.). I wanted to ensure adequate support underneath the project and to keep things nice and flat.

      hey @@EigenDesigns , sounds like you definitely did your homework on the design. I subscribed to your channel, so I'll see the part 2 when it comes out. Also, I'm curious, what is your Onefinity order number? Mine is 15965 and they are saying July, that will give me an idea of when I might see mine!! Two more questions Mark. 1) if you didn't have the raised portion on your garage floor, would you have made the base wider. 2) Now you have been running the 1F for a month or two, anything base wise would you change ? My 1F arrived today and i'm so undecided with what base to do. I like your idea of using 4x4 lumber and mounting control box underneath. :) Ive been procrastinating and now its here. LOL Thanks, Cheers Craig

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 года назад +1

      Hey Craig! Congrats on your 1F finally arriving. That's really exciting. Let me answer your two questions:
      1) I probably wouldn't change the spacing of the legs because the amount of overhang I have on the underside of the table allows the control until to be mounted perfectly (and have all cables plug into the back freely).
      2) I have been really, really pleased with this design so far. It simple, yet strong and it never has any flex or racking in it. If I were to build mine all over again, I wouldn't change a thing for the way I use my CNC and how my shop is laid out.
      Good luck brother!

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 года назад

      They have a web-based version of the software that is free to use. This is what I have been using so far. They also have a few higher grades of the software that are not free and need to be downloaded onto your computer. These higher tier version have more capability for the users needing it. It’s a pretty easy software to use and I would highly recommend their free version since you can go to the site and be designing within minutes.

    Nice video. Would it be worth putting the table saw planer cnc (when you get them). On wheeled platforms so you can put the car out front on days your in the shop. Give you more room to work. Also what's the cost of the cnc. Hello from Australia by the way.

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 года назад

      G'day Gary. That's exactly what I was thinking too. I plan on ordering a SawStop tablesaw with the mobile wheel base and have already purchased a mobile base for the 8"jointer. I think it will be a great utility to have those two things mobile within my workshop.
      I didnt want to have the CNC mobile because of how large it is. As you saw in the video, I had to design my shop around it so I will leave that one where it is, and move the other things around it.
