Hope you'll do a reaction for the next 2 Back to the Future movies. If you do, please, don't watch after 2nd movie ends, they have a spoiler-trailer for 3rd movie.
At the start, they're meeting at Twin Pines Mall, but if you look at the sign when Marty gets back at the end, it's Lone Pine Mall. Marty ran over one of old man Peabody's pine trees when he escaped the farm. Got to love that attention to detail.
I actually live 15 minutes away from the mall that they used for the movie in real life it's called Puente Hills Mall it's in City of Industry California
Also the guy second to the left judging the talent show is Huey Lewis who wrote songs in the movie like 'Gotta get back in Time'. So Huey Lewis saying you're just to darn loud is pretty much a subtle joke cause Huey rocks out hard. At the end in the original script George saw a news paper years later and realized it was his son and that's why he bought him the black truck.
The principal’s neck is wrinkly in 1985 because that’s old-age makeup; it’s very subtle, but since the same actor plays him in 1955 they had to make him look a little different. The imperfections were harder to notice pre-HD.
to me, it's the perfect trilogy. you should watch the rest of them. they actually use this first movie as an example of the perfect script in film classes. it's that good. great reaction! 😃
1. The teacher that says Marty is playing too loud is actually Huey Lewis and the song he's playing is a Huey Lewis and the News song. 2. The principal looked down on Marty and said "No McFly was ever worth a damn" because his father was a dork. 3. If it wasn't for this movie they wouldn't have sold ANY DeLoreans. 4. The reason mom and dad look so weird is because they're wearing ageing makeup. 5. If you want a first time/share of an OUTSTANDING movie where Christopher Lloyd plays a bad guy you must do "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
They did not have a script for a sequel ready when they did the first movie. They had left the movie open-ended but didn't how successful/popular it was going to b e. Then they wrote both sequels and filmed them right after each other.
I can remember thinking when this came out the title made no sense. Then I went to the theater and saw it. Yeah took the "back" in the title as going "backwards".
Michael J Fox was born to play Marty. I was surprised to learn that they casted the actor when they were almost done w/ this film with a different actor. Glad this became a success because Michael only got 2 hours of sleep for 3 months doing this film and his show at the time. The other actor made the film feel more dark instead of family friendly. Yes we get to here your review again!! I didn't like the ending then roll credits with no review :(
They were like 3 weeks into filming when they replaced Eric Stoltz with Michael J. Fox... the chemistry of Stoltz wasn't there at all... but some scenes of him were still in the final print.
Awesome reaction! You'd be surprised, there was actually no real plans for a sequel. Them "setting it up" was mostly meant as a joke/wink to the audience. But when it turned out they had a massive hit on their hands, they wrote a sequel (which then turned out to be way too big of a story so they split it up even further and turned it into a trilogy). Please react to the rest of the movies, they're great. Honestly, the Back To The Future trilogy is one of THE most beloved, high-quality, consistent, clever, and heartfelt movie series. I recommend watching them in close succession if possible. Part of their charm is picking up on all the Easter eggs, call backs, and tie-ins to the previous movies.
The writers said if they’d planned a sequel they would have scripted part one differently; they wouldn’t have had Jennifer be with the two main characters at the end. Now they have to work out what to do with her in part two. 🧐
How I’ve just come across this I have no idea! But this has been my favourite reaction out of all because Back to the Future is one of my favourite films of all time! Seeing other people experience for the first time it brought me so much joy! PLEASE watch part II and III!!
1:08 In the long ago days before cell phones, it wasn't necessary to dial the area code to call a local number (assuming you shared the same area code).
@2:08 I loved how you two plus the rest of the McFly family were all staring at George the same way lmao 😂 that was funny lol And, “Get out of there! Punch her. Do something!” Hahahahhahaha
If you guys decide to watch the rest of the trilogy, please note: The end of the second movie contains a trailer for the third movie. You'll want to stop playback when it says "To Be Continued" in order to avoid spoilers.
Interesting fact, the redhead at the dance who tried to take Lorraine away from George is an actor named Courtney Gains, who is most known for playing Malachai in Children of the Corn.
Fun fact: Michael J. Fox was actually playing live with the guitar when filming this. He was also working night and day, meaning that he’s filming a TV show by day, filming a Movie by night.
To clarify: he learned HOW to play it so it wouldn’t look fake on camera but we’re not actually hearing him play or sing (guitar by Tim May, vocals by Mark Campbell of Jack Mack & The Heart Attack)
Older movies hit so different! These days they let everyone and their moms make movies like kissing booth and a lot of the other netflix type movies. Sometimes that can be a good thing though because some of them turn into gems like twilight lol. What’s your guys’ opinion on Tarantino movies?
There is a back to the future comic book that explains how Marty met doc. Apparently Marty, who was 14 at the time, heard that doc is a crazy person. Than being curious about the rumors, he snuck into doc's lab and was fascinated of all doc's invention. When doc caught marty, he was happy that someone like his invention and that's how they become friends.
When I was a kid I just assumed he used to be a science teacher at the high school and got fired because of his crazy ways and Marty was a student who liked him and still hung around him
Fine, I'll be that guy, I'll say it. Her phone number isn't missing numbers. Presumably he already knows the area code. Time was, if you were calling a number that was in the area code that you were calling from, you didn't have to dial that part. "That's what these old people talk about when they talk about back in the day." Facts, guys. But let's face it, librarians were the real scourge of the 80s. So you're gonna watch the sequels, right? RIGHT?
I was really annoyed when having to dial an area code on a rotary phone. I somehow ALWAYS screwed up and had to start over. You guys know what I'm talking about... Just me? Oh, okay.
I’m only 28 and I remember not having to dial area codes when I was a kid. Though this WAS Canada, which has lower population density across the board, so maybe Americans just needed more area codes before we did.
I agree with what you guys said about this movie being a real movie. I think nowadays with things like Tik Tok or RUclips, the humor for younger crowds is different. Loud does not always equal funny and that’s a lot of what I see in films nowadays. I think because their always screaming every line or running their lines a goofy way, like in The Kissing Booth series, it feels very disingenuous when they have a soulful or heartfelt moment. In older films, they worked more on the character development and really had you rooting for them because the acting was so much more natural. That’s really just my take on it. I’m only twenty five but that’s why I’ll still take a lot of films before my time over what’s made now.
Couldn't agree with this more. As much as we like watching cringey garbage on the channel. When we do check out awesome movies it just makes us appreciate them 1000 times more.
Obligatory “can’t believe you haven’t seen this” comment. Better late than never. The sequel is better…it’s actually the continuation of one king film. Biff is basically Trump
I know that in most area codes today, you've got to dial ten digits. Not all, if my dad's contact list on his phone is any indication... but back in the 80's, we only needed 7 digits to call anywhere on Long Island (to call Grandma, we would dial 1-212 and then the number). They started out in NY by adding area codes by county/borough, thus freeing up the numbers from the next county over. But then they started overlaying.
@@TheMikeLawz I can’t live without my phone. Social media yes but not my phone. I clock in and out of work on my phone with an app. I have my alarm clock, my appts, my sugar tracking app, everything is on one device.
I just can't believe you guys have never seen this movie. I guess there are people out there that haven't seen the classics. Love when people watch great classics for the first time.
You ask why they call it "Back to the Future" but please recognize that this movie was nearly called "The man from Pluto." Which title makes more sense to you?
