    Hi Martin
    Thanks for another great video and congrats for sussing out the issue with the image scale and being able to fix it. As you said in your video, problem solving is what astronomy is all about! Keep up the good work mate and I look forward to your next film. Simon.

    Hi, very nice images! I must try the ZWO tilt adapter too as I have quite noticetable newtonian rings during imaging/viewing the Sun with my Daystar Quark.

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 месяца назад

      Yep the tilt adapter is not a cheap item, the Daystar one costs around £198 which is totally ridiculous for the price, even though it's well made. I was lucky to get mine for £98 secondhand from Rother Valley Optics

    I'm much more into DSO's than anything else, but I have to admit that Sun is pretty exciting these days.

    Martin the "Quark Fixer"! I wonder how the Daystar reducer would work in this setup? It's there reducer made for the Quark to get Full Sun imaging. You always tell the TRUTH!!! Thank you very much for this series and hope more coming?

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 месяца назад

      The Quark Reducer is one to have, due to its Optics, there is minimal distortion. It's non-spherical. I am so surprised that my video is the only one that covers full disc solar work for the Quark. Just you watch someone will release a video and claim that they came up with this idea, and make no mention of my channel.

      @@MPAstro Cool I have it but not tried it. I recall your 0.5x 1.25 reducer eyepiece screw on and I think you trbeied that in your video, but I will add the 20mm ext tube as well. Thank you MP Astro!

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 месяца назад

      The annoying thing about Daystar, you have to buy the 2" eyepiece holder for the Quark in order for you to fit the 0.5x focal reducer. Why can't Daystar include a 2" Eyepiece holder as standard with the Quark

    Cracking video Martin, I’m pretty new to solar imaging with my Quark too. I think you’re also in Fife? After watching your video I’ve went and found a 174mm on eBay at a decent price so cannot wait to give that a go. Currently using the ASI533mc pro - like you said I reckon I’ll get far better details and contrast with the monochrome. Keep up the great videos ✨

      @MPAstro  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes mate, I do live in Fife. That's awesome news that you managed to get a secondhand ASI174MM, you won't be disappointed with it, such an amazing camera. Mono is the way to go for Solar

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 месяца назад

      With your 72ED Refractor at 420mm focal length, You'll get the the full disc image with the 174MM camera. You'll need the Daystar focal Reducer and the same spacing as my set-up, Then you should be good to GO!!!! No need for a Solar scope

      @@MPAstro awesome! I actually have the Sw Esprit 80ED now but also have a 50ED I was going to try with the Quark, think I should manage a full disc with that. Excited to try out the mono cam! Will just need to learn how sharpcap works and I’ll be good to go!

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 месяца назад +1

      @@Astro_George_ probably you need to extend the spacing a bit more, but let us know how you got on?

      @Astro_George_ 3 месяца назад

      @@MPAstro yeah gonna give it a bash soon but will certainly let you know how it goes. It’s all been trial and error but I absolutely love solar imaging with the quark especially.
