    Anterior fibers of the gluteus medius does abduction in all position of the hip, assist in flexion and medial rotation of hip, and posterior also abduct, and assist in extention and lateral rotation of hip.

    Multiple texts also state that the gluteus medius and minimus along with tensor fascia latae all can internally rotate the hips, but for me its a bit difficult to imagine how the attachment site at the greater trochanter will help facilitate an internal rotation when the site itself is at a lateral position

    i think flexion and extention was wrong.. it shoul be opposite way that way is upper limb...

    • @OJsY
      @OJsY 7 лет назад +3

      At the hip joint flexion is bringing the knee towards your chest, extension is moving the knee away from your chest. The only part where it is different from upper limb is at the knee joint vs elbow joint.

    what is the difference between laterally rotation and abduction or medially rotation and adduction

    • @fonoageflavia771
      @fonoageflavia771 4 года назад +1

      In laterally rotation you just rotate your right foot towards right or your left foot towards left, keeping the leg still whereas in abduction you move your whole leg towards right or left, like when you make a step or two to the right or left, thats abduction. In medially rotation you move your right foot to the left or your left foot to the right but keeping your leg still and in adduction your whole leg is, lets say that you made 2 or 3 steps to the left or right and you want to bring your leg back. I hope it makes sense what i wrote here :(
