Lightning in a bottle, Rory's energy from the first chord to the last, just a force of nature. The humble gaelic genius was a one of a kind, there'll never be another like him!!Sublime ☘
Absolute magic. Rory alway's look like he's enjoying himself, Gerry looks like he's never giving less than 101% , Rod & Lou are rock solid.
Sadly these fine musicians, except for Gerry McAvoy, are not around anymore. They live on in our memories. RIP Rory, Rod and Lou, thank you for the music.
Amen.
Saw Gerry and Brendan last wedensday! Still phenomenal!
Que musicon
And Wilgar and Ted ❤
Hang in there Gerry, you made life a lot easier with your music.🤟🤟👍
Rod De'ath Rod De'ath Rod De'ath- extraordinary"
The Great Rory and his best band. Rod is a monster on the drumkit!!!
Best Rory Gallagher Band ever was when Rory brought Lou Martin on board with his keys. Through the 70s they were soooo hot!
RORY RULES, the GREATEST EVER, ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT. I miss you SOOOO much RORY. You’re FOREVER WITH ME. 🎸💚👑💞☘️
Hey Belinda, have you been to the Rory festival In Donegal it’s absolutely magical you should go....:..: contact me and we’ll go together???
Emmet Nolan SOUNDS AWSUM! Thank you. 🙏🏾👊🏾🎸💚 Best way to contact me is ‘surfstrat88’ on lnstagram. I’ll keep saying. It too; the best ever! It’d be mad to play there!! 🎸💚✨👊🏾😃
Belinda Drake ............will try contact you with a little help from my friends.......as I’m a tec moron with no computer and a phone I got from Fred Flint stone............Rory our national treasure.🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪
Emmet Nolan SPOT ON EMMET! To me he’s THE GREATEST EVER. Nobody but nobody has the virtuosity & versatility that RORY HAD. So UNDERRATED; it seems until NOW. Plus l don’t give 2 hoots 🦉 🦉what any troll or ‘knockers’ opinion is. IT IS A FACT! RORY played more instruments than people think too. I have a truckload of great bootleg DVDS & CDS. EMMET, the ONLY GOOD cover song l’ve heard (it’s great actually the only one!l;) is ‘ BAD PENNY’ by a band named ‘HAYMARKET RIOT’. Check it out on Spotify; lemme know wot you think? I’ve always wanted to go to lreland. I dream of playin his ax! If 9 guys ( no one knows some of ‘em); give this little AUSSIE a chance🙏🏾. They kept the same strings on THE STRAT that RORY left; bloody Joe Bonamassa changed ‘em. 😡 l don’t care if l got tetanus off them! RORY DNA!! 🤩🥳😆👊🏾✨🎸💚
Belinda Drake ........Belinda nice to hear from you Yea !! our Rory was special in so many ways.........I first saw him in 72 in our local cinema he opened with messin with the kid my god!!!......the whole place went apeshit it was like a hurricane over came the gaff.......i went on to see him close to 40 times after that I lived in Berlin,Holland,Switzerland and saw him many times in those places but the city hall cork will always have a special place in my heart ❤️.....his home town was incredible Rory and over to the Green room pub for scoops of the black stuff.......meeting all the heads to chat about the gig........you might never get to play the Strat but my brother in law lives in cork and he bought a copy off the real thing .......maybe you can try it ????......if you come someday I’ll bring you to his grave I go once a year for his birthday to say hello and to thank him for the joy he brought us all..........Rory our national treasure 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪........talk soon darlin rock on !!!
he is and was fucking awesome😎
i am crying here listening to this maestro😂
Takes me back to a time of buying Rory LP’s and seeing him in Newcastle and Edinburgh. Never get fed up of watching this. Rory at his best. RIP
I've seen Rory four times and I've seen all the clips on youtube and it could have been the Spanish wine or the sun and the beaches but there's something special in his playing that night.
It's so sharp, edgy and agressive and also his solo's are different with lot's of new interpretations.
Also the band is incredibly tight, it's really on another level that I've never seen before or after.
For me he's one of the best live stage guitarists ever but if he had played like this every night, wowwww........nobody can touch this kind of wizzardry, it's magic.
I could not agree more..Absolute fire, Must've been the tapas
Actually astro stuff says he was a whole lot of fire. In any case. He was great.
Rory played Sydney and Melbourne only weeks before this gig, I was at both and have audio tapes of the gigs. It's remarkable how close the versions and solos are, Rory had found a real groove in the mid 70s, and seeing this Madrid gig takes me back. Rory was peerless live, earlier in his career when he was the support act, headline bands had a hard act to follow. In a couple of cases, the audience kept calling for Rory to return while the headliners were playing, he lost gigs as result.
Well no way I can comment. Except I wish I was there.
how lucky u are
It’s sad to think that Gerry McAvoy is the only one of these extremely talented guys, who is still around today. RIP, all of them who were sadly taken before their time. The music they made together is their legacy, which will live on, for a long time to come.
Best Line Up, Rory, Lou, Gerry and Rod. Love this
What a marvellous performance, the band is on fire. Always loved this line-up but there's no denying Rory's "Trio's" packed some punch. A great show, many thanks.
I was there.
Rory Gallagher : Please come back..........................................
I'm pushing this concert into my brain so hard... maybe one day I will believe I was there. Here's hoping! Rory, the best ever!!
Norm you´ve been there. Making out that cute redhead close to the bar...Made me promise not to tell anyone... ; )
Oh! Bring this man back. What a damn shame. Tons of people just love him. Why it went south is a drag and a drag.
Pam Ackroyd Thank you so much Pam for sharing and I can understand what you meant about it all and it’s especially interesting the fact you were sisters. Had you known more of his status and all he might have not been as interested but your vibe was good and “natural” no doubt
How can any guy compete with THAT! Ha ha....I’d have been taken irregardless no hugs kisses or anything....but invading your space......ooooo yes! Dang girl. Nice stuff for sure... thanks again! Good insight. Brothers were a team and never heard they had a rich Cork accent compared to the stage accents! I went to the Bally Shannon Rory Gallagher festival last year 2019 because between not having been overseas in 25 years, my love for Rory who’s music made me happy and passionate again ( learned of him at 65) and wanting to see a little Irish land I went leaving 2 mares,6 dogs,2 cats and some birds with a sitter. Best part really was sitting at the counter in a respectable pub with Rory on the PA and small poster pic.
When I got home he seemed so much more Irish than before!
@@cynthiamarston2208 Indeed , in the light of how close they were , I have only read recently, about their bond I saw then, so it is rather lovely they took to us that way being sisters seeing their concert . Rory and Donal were really lovely .
Reading the wikipedia bio. His COD sounds like a lot of medical mismanagement. They KNEW already by then, that Tylenol, paracetemol, or acetaminophen should not be mixed with ANY kind of alcohol consumption. Zero. He should have had a naturopath giving him ground Milk Thistle seed and Golden Seal; grams of it.
@@k.hendrickson8735 medical mismanagement yes but im not sure they knew regarding tylenol stuff with alcohol….in england etc…. If they did this would be a story of them telling him and him doing it anyway…..which could be….you know? Alcohol mixed was pretty much a no no for other pharmeceuticals so….maybe now that i think of it….Rory was mainly alcoholic. We dont give a damn about stuff like that. Yeah. And it changes how your personality is over time and you dont know anymore a perspective to help you out of chronic poisoning situation
También estuve.no se olvida.Gracias rory
Único,incomparable,EXCELSO..NO HAY ADJETIVOS PARA DEFINIR AL REY DE LA GUITARRA. OLÉ TUS HUEVOS RORY.
I saw Rory Gallagher twice at WinterLand S.F. 1970 something? He was Great. I think when it comes to throwing a Kick Ass Rock & Roll Guitar Show, Rory Gallagher & Alvin Lee are the BEST!! May they BOTH R.I.P. I hope God Has Guitars in Heaven!! "JUST SAYING"
Curtis Medders god has a japanese copy of Rory's strat, since the real one is here on earth
I loved Rory’s music, and this exact group, I saw them in a small arena in London , Ontario, in I believe 1977, I thought they may have had jet lag, not a hudge sound system, not needed, a fender deluxe on a gym chair, for slide on As the Crow Fly”s, all his Irish/74 tour songs. At the end Rory was standing looking at me, since I was near the stage and stood most of the concert, I waved and smiled, he was beside the left, his right speaker column, and hit his head on the metal square edge between the first and second stack,. It hurt ,so have a cringed look of apology, he indicated, it”s ok , and went backstage.
Everyone was polite, sitting, no smoking, etc. this was on summer, also University of Western youth. I loved London. God bless , Rory, Rod, and king bassist Mr McIvoy. Forgive my spellling. I am Bruce Tribe. My daughter Kaitlyn went to Leeds,England for school, visited Scotland, and Ireland, Cork, giants causeway, Belfast, the castles, oceans break walls.
Spain/ Barcelona, Gsudi cathedral. Then U of Western, Carleton/Ottawa, women”s human rights. Married in Vancouver, one son and two twin girls, Pilates fitness instructor.
My son the first born David, grew up with this music, U2, Bob Dylan, Allman brothers, John Coltrane, Jazziz collections. ❤ And of course Kate went to the cavern club, My love for the Beatles, George, All things must Pass, and also Pat Metheny,David Gilmore, and. Africa, conservation, famine aid, schools, medicine, and the Zulu mission in South Africa, Durban.😊
Thanks for uploading - great show! Needs to be watched by more people...
After 40+years ----it is yesterday to me/
This is SUCH a classic, pristine example of hard, real Rock. I wish this video & audio could be improved/restored somehow to get the real sound out it.
Those lucky, lucky spaniards at this concert in '75....I wonder if they know they caught lightening in a bottle?
I've seen Rory three times, got many bootlegs and videos over the years, but this must rate as one of his best ever performances - in fact all of the band - esp Gerry - really are cooking. Part two is fantastic- I think this is my fave Rory era.
I will go to my grave a happy man knowing I've known Rory's music. Ironically it was only a year or so after this that he binned Lou and Rod- and you wonder after this why?
That was Rory though...
One unexplored gem ..Who was far better than Jimi Hendrix , Clapton ,Jimmy Page all together . As if all others with their talent rolled in one person . Best example of how marketing and not accepting typical commercial format of being famous make you reach less people . It's sad we see million views on crap videos and on Rory just few thousands .. people are just discovering him since few years n only one musician with least dislikes ..no one can escape from positive vibrations Rory emit out of passion for music and guitar .
My idol for all time.......Still miss him.
Fantastic thanks Rory and his band simply the best ever
RAW TALENT AT ITS BEST,THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES RORY,GOD BLESS!!!
PURE MAGIC!!!
Rory Forever!
Thank you so much for the uploading, great concert of the good old days, and thank you Rory for the show ❤️🌿💕🌿🌼🕊

This is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for uploading. ❤
THAT IS MUSIC - PURE MAGIC !!! THANK YOU RORY ! HARI HARI
Great Show, I guess this was almost right after Irish Tour, what a fantastic line up he had then!!
No hay palabras para calificar este concierto. Yo no he visto nada igual. ACOJONANTE
Tienes mucha razón!
Fantastic concert! Glad to have seen it! Thank you soooo much for posting.
They used stills from this gig as the cover shots for an issue of International Musician magazine that year - funny what you remember years later.
I got to see Rory and his boys but this is the first time that I say his right-hand man Gerry McAvoy standing on the right side of the stage, Gerry right full pace was also to the left side of Rory
Amazing
gallagher till i die
This is so cool, which I've had on DVD for years & the colorized version too. Before the videos surfaced there was an ~80min long "SBD" sourced audio version that was without (compared to this) the "Young Fashioned Ways" track but differently included the following three acoustic tracks: "Pistol Slapper Blues", "Banker's Blues> Baby's Been Away Too Long> Banker's Blues", & "Going To My Hometown". Additionally there was a lower quality "FM" audio sourced recording that was only the acoustic tracks that started with "Too Much Alcohol" & was followed by the previously mentioned three acoustic tracks.
Thank you so much for sharing this here!!! Now, where's the more complete video? Thanks again, THX!!!
This is wonderful
Rory at Glory, smashing furious
0:16 - Messin' With The Kid
7:49 - Tattoo'd Lady
16:50 - Garbage Man
27:24 - Cradle Rock
- Young fashioned ways
42:38 - A million maile away
52:28 - Walk On Hot Coals
Back in those days cameramen seemed clueless as to where to point the camera during a guitar solo. In this case the focus was on Gerry Mcavoy.
So awesome. Can't thank you enough for sharing!
That Young Fashioned Blues is killer!
the real deal😎😂
Thank you
Rory displays his extraordinary proficiency with all the energy and feeling he has, as he always does. His band is tight and with him all the way. Result...awesome performance...a must hear and see! This video suffers in only one way...volume...it's hard to hear when it's set so low. I know it's not at Rory's end and I've checked my controls four times, so it must be the transfer. Not the way to enjoy Rory Rock 'n Roll. Turn it up!
Thanks, fantastic
MARAVILLOSO !!!!!!!
Tattoo lady energy power hope live times do in tune with the time, drumming and humming to a sound sure dont hear me sure, this song is like I cant hear a word, the music in itself is so amazing

Capt'n
... Beam us down Scotty !
great
Rory musta been one of the first "plug n play" artists. No fancy pedal boxes... Just plug him in and see pure talent emerge. Wonderful.
Rod was a brilliant drummer RiP.
Wow
super concert merci a rory est c'est musicien
El ídolo de Rosendo y con razón. No tocó Shadow play. Una pena.
Shadow play es posterior a este concierto
@@mimiknow afirmativo, investigué después y es del 78
Lethal
Not long after, Rory changed his band as he thought they didnt play hard enough.
Fairly banging on this showing.
Rory, on t'aime !
¿Es ésto lo que acabó con Paquito? ¿Is this what finally saw Franco off? (1975)
Rory Gallagher was at the height or more than Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton or Toni Iommi, and was more underrated.
no doubt , his Rory ! 🤘, 🌹....☕☕ ? 😊
DONDE ESTA EL CONCIERTO DE BARCELONA
Can’t see Rory’s trusty Vox Guitar amp. I think he’s playing through another set-up altogether.😮 The guitar sounds quite different, much greater distortion.
red hot!
Can anyone tell what brands of keyboards Lou Martin is playing ?
Fender Rhodes. Probably MK IV model
That’s no Fender Rhodes. The lower keyboard is a RMI Electra piano. Not sure about the upper one though.
o man i i think im gonna yea blowowow a !@##$! this so great thx
