I love Dave Asprey! I was in a foreign country for a few months and had some serious physical setbacks adjusting to the food and climate... that's when I found him on a video talking about intermittent fasting... I immediately started doing it and walking everyday briskly . I dropped over 20 lbs of excess weight and my energy increased along with my happiness level. THANK YOU for bringing Dave on to encourage us once again.

It does get a little tiring hearing it constantly because it's like every single book and podcast.. ugh.. But otherwise, great podcast! I really need to work on my past traumas.. Well, I disagree with him about plant-based diets. There are also plenty of cruelty free animal protiens like eggs and whey. Vegans dont eat kale smoothies so stop using that as an example. I do trust and agree with a lot of what he has to say however, he is ignoring the energetic factor of food. Some people including myself do not want to put dead animals in our mouth it is plain and simple. I do not eat soy, TVP, and any of those junk plant proteins and I am pescotarian-plant-based. I stick with cruelty free animal proteins and have benefitted from eggs for their nutrition and immune-boosting qualities. The way I see it the chicken would lay the egg no matter what, and it would never live therefor no pain was involved. I disagree with factory farming, however, if someone wants to eat free-range animals on small family farms that is their business. I think killing animals for food is a sick cruel and twisted practice and is not needed to balance the ecosystem as he opines. There are plenty of cruelty-free cow farms all over the world, you can use the milk cheese butter etc without killing them. To me it is cruel to do so and wrong karmically. We can use the manure for hundreds of different things.

Im in the "calories in, calories out" crowd, depending on what he means. He doesn't elaborate on a lot of things. I track calories, protein, make sure i have adequate fiber based on what i eat that day etc. Lost 130 pounds over 3 years. Went to 10% body fat which was my goal. And now that it's winter im focusing on building more muscle, upping calories. And i gained 15 pounds which was calculated. Blood work came back. Im healthy and btw about to turn 49.

My thoughts exactly-he looks much older than his age! 😂
I’d talk to old folks who look 20- 30 years younger than their age,who don’t spend extra time or money obsessing about staying young. There are no “secrets” that we don’t already know from history/legacy.
Let’s find out what people were doing right (given how humans are still the same, biologically), and go BACK to those basic habits!

Maybe he feels AMAZING, but some/many are inspired by people who either look young for their age, or just look great at the age they are-when you’re NEITHER, it’s just ummm…..STRANGE to feel that that’s one’s calling.

Upgrade to Pascal vs. Degrade to Buddha
Mr Asprey, in the enclosed interview, implicitly substituted Blaise Pascal’s wager with a Buddhist reincarnation wager, but without acknowledging that great French thinker. The difference is, however, radical: Buddha was just passively sitting on his fat, princely bum, that latter became skinny, and attracted compassionate disciples. Pascal, to the contrary, was never afluent and quite active, and contributed significantly to the societal cultural and civilisational development.
Mr Asprey implicitly follows Pascal’s methodology without due acknowledgement, and instead praises a passive slacker - Buddha - sitting under a tree. Such methodology lacks integrity and requires a significant upgrade.

because biohacking and the anti-aging industry is nonsense. And I'm in the field of health and natural medicine, it's not really possible and more about money than anything. Yes, it's also about learning and man's desire to stay younger for longer, but there are factors we have no idea about, that's why almost all the main biohackers honestly don't look young for their age..
