Light Sensor and Darkness Detector Circuit using LDR | 555 Timer Project #16

- A tutorial on how to make a light sensor circuit and dark detector circuit using 555 timer IC and a few other electronics components. When this circuit is configured as a light sensor circuit, it turns ON the output whenever light around the LDR is more than a certain amount (threshold). This threshold can be adjusted by using a potentiometer.
Similarly, when this circuit is configured as a dark sensor circuit, it turns ON the output whenever light around the LDR is less than a certain threshold. So the behavior is opposite to that of light sensor. This arrangement can be used in automatic street light circuits to turn the light ON and OFF automatically depending on how bright it is.

Components Required:
555 IC
LDR (Light Dependent Resistor or Photo-Resistor)
LED, Buzzer or any Output Device of your choice
Resistors: 2 x 10K, 270R (For LED)
Breadboard
Few Breadboard Connectors
(5-12)V of Power Supply

I don’t know why just my dark sensing led doesn’t turn on where as light sensing part it running fine. I have done all the connections and rechecked them several times

Bhai.... I appreciate your videos.... They are really great.... But what you explained about reset pin 4 is totally reverse of how it actually works. It does not resets the circuit when voltage at pin 4 is more than 0.7 volt rather it resets the circuit when pin 4 is connected to negative or less than 0.7 volt ..... please correct me if I am wrong.... waiting for your reply
Hi liked your video, I do have a question, I am looking to build a dark detector ldr circuit, but I need the led to stay on for a few seconds then go out, and the cycle starts again when the ldr is triggered, can you help please.

Im currently doing a project in school, and I need a similar idea as shown in the video but instead of an LED, I need to make it into a D.C Motor that changes direction between Dark and Light Sensor
Dark sensor Circuit works just fine on 3v and 5v but LED will not turn on using 12 volts. Can you help please?

@@yasminamaged I solved it... Firstly see complete video and then see circuit diagram on link given by channel then directly do connections on pcb board via soldering
Link given in description and circuit don't work because sometimes we do loose connections on pcb so circuit don't work as per video
