Scott, I am not a detailer but I am a DIYer who loves to keep my car clean as well as making sure it is well taken care of. In general, I love keeping my car clean while applying what I learn from you and other detailers to help my mom and brother keep their cars clean😁I have seen many detailing videos from many individuals who do this as their living or have knowledge in auto detailing. I can binge watch your videos all day and there are not too many people like you who expose the flaws and marketing tactics by companies that provide products to detailers worldwide. You have opened my eyes completely and I now question any detailers and the products they stand behind. I understand those who are detailers have their prices set based on the services provided, but not everyone can afford the . TBH I am a bit scared to work on my care because I think I'll cause some mistakes on my pain but from watching your videos, I look forward to polish my car while referencing your videos. I bought my first DA last summer and watching this channel I have come to realize something, I am moving way to fast on those passes. The results were good, but not as nice as I thought there were going to be but I guess that kind of timidness comes standard your rookie year. These videos have given me the confidence to work a little slower and deeper, thanks for all your advice and tips Scott.
Thank you Scott for teaching me from the vid. I literally had a bunch of dusting cause I used one cutting pad for the whole car without cleaning it or blowing the dust off.
1 wash your car really good, 2 clay your car to remove any contamination. This second step is really important because some of this contamination can damage your paint. 3 do it under a shade, 4 don’t over do it especially on corners. 5 never used a dirty polish pad, 5 when you done polish your car wash again before your wax it. 6 when you apply the wax wait like 5 minutes before buffer the wax of. You don’t want circle in your paint follow this steps specially on black paint.

My best friend's mom has one of those cars. I use it as a test mule for my finishing polishes. It seems to really like Menzerna, and 3D ACA520. M205 marred the daylights out of it.
exact same setup with Meg's m105 or m205 is pretty much 100 percent beginner safe. It does dust and this is the only down side. I tried sonax perfect finish and perhaps my skills aren't up to par with an all in one yet. Thanks for the videos as always
There aren't very many polishes out there that glide like Koch 201. At least I don't know many. It is fun to use and it really hangs in there. Fantastic company and grantastic video!
Scott I have a 2 year old White Honda Accord. Have never used a clay bar on it. Plan to do that this year. Will I need to use a Polish before I apply Meguiar's ultimate liquid wax. White is hard color to tell if you have swirl marks.
It's a German product for pros but many hobby detailers are also going for Koch Chemie. Not only the polish is good, all other stuff is outstanding too. In Germany we pay around 35-40€ for 1L of M3.02 🙂
I don’t want to sound dumb here so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I will be doing my first minor correction on my wife’s 2021 pilot. Black paint is already a nightmare and she does have a few light swirls and hairline scratches. Based on the video which brought me to this one, using the Griots Complete compound, is that all I need to complete the process of removing swirls and scratches along with protecting the paint? Or do I invest in an actual polish like the one in this video and hit the entire SUV after the compound step? Or can I simply wax it with Angel eyes and be done? Thank you in advance.
Good info. Question that I haven’t seen answered: How often should a car be polished? I’ve cleaned, clayed and polished my car ( thanks to your videos. I used Drive Victory Nano Polish and finished it off with your “Detailer on Steroids” mix . Came out great. How often can/should a car be polished? Thanks again for the great info and videos.

But they should that's the thing. People don't understand you don't remove the swirls or scratch your removing clear.... You want to keep as much factory clear as possible and don't chase perfection in a daily driver... Live with some imperfections and keep your factory clear as long as possible.

Or removing clear to the defects level? In that process of polishing or "correcting" the paint your removing clear. Are you telling me that isn't what polishing does? To maximize your clear coat you do not want to continuously chase imperfections at the sacrifice of your clear coat. Then think a coat of a ceramic coating can take the place of it. Not saying that's what your doing here but I've seen people do it. Including professional detailers.

What is happening is people remove so much clear trying to chase every imperfection they know they are taking clear off and I'm sure some people don't know but people think that if they apply a ceramic coating it will be ok. I'm not sure if your getting my point. The point is... You know and I know scratches or swirls are the main reason people Polish their cars. The Polish doesn't remove the swirls or scratches your reducing or removing clear to the depth of the damage. If you do this constantly which some they eventually are wearing that clear down so much and there are people out there that think that is ok because they simply apply a ceramic coating afterwards. People don't realize the importance of the clear coat and should minimize polishing unless it's necessary to do so. Live with imperfections may actually help your paint last longer in some respects. I hope you understand my point. Anyway. Stay safe out there and appreciate your videos. 🙏

You should always apply protection after polishing stage to protect your car from the elements. Either sealant, wax or coating

The diference is 301 is a aio and the 302 a real polishet without wax or carnauba

KOCH CHEMIE M302 Has cut rating of 3 while perfect finish has cut rating of 4 but pad dependent

What is happening is people remove so much clear trying to chase every imperfection they know they are taking clear off and I'm sure some people don't know but people think that if they apply a ceramic coating it will be ok. I'm not sure if your getting my point. The point is... You know and I know scratches or swirls are the main reason people Polish their cars. The Polish doesn't remove the swirls or scratches your reducing or removing clear to the depth of the damage. If you do this constantly which some they eventually are wearing that clear down so much and there are people out there that think that is ok because they simply apply a ceramic coating afterwards. People don't realize the importance of the clear coat and should minimize polishing unless it's necessary to do so. Live with imperfections may actually help your paint last longer in some respects. I hope you understand my point. Anyway. Stay safe out there and appreciate your videos. 🙏
