Been lurking about this fashion town for quite a while mate, and that taste of success really distinguishes the real deal from the ones who've faked it all the way until they made it. I think it's people like Tim, Alex Costa, and Marcel from One Dapper Street, who really have it in them to educate your average internet consumer about "Men's style and Fashion". The person we referred to earlier makes their viewers feel like he's doing us a favor by bringing his content to us, which 99% is all about how "hot" he is, and how he could and he will steal your gf. I simply hate disingenuous people. What do you have on them?;
The biggest style tip that I learned from my parents is to keep my clothes clean, ironed and lint-free. My dad had like 3 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, a belt and a pair of shoes to wear for the entire year but he always looked sharp and polished. He usually spent his weekend to iron all the clothes of my entire family: my uniforms, my mom's suits, and his own work attire. He also hated our pet dogs because they shed a lot, lol. Now living alone I'm struggling with both problems: pet hair and free time to take care of my clothes.
Yess so much we can learn from previous generations, especially when it comes to taking proper care of our clothes and looking sharp regardless of how much or little we have.
Never put your hoodies in the dryer. That's how you get the little fuzzy balls. Air dry them. Pull them out of the wash and hang them on the shower curtain rod. I've had a really nice Nirvana hoodie for over a year and a half and I've kept it MINT by simply not drying it.
To be completely honest, my favorite youtuber right now! Straight to the point and High quality all around. 99% of graphic tees are trash. It is very hard to find a good one, but if I find one, then in a thrift shop.
I struggled for a long time with my self image growing up and always thought my brother or a loved one would notice and help me but that never happened. There’s definitely a time and place for them however.

I 100 percent agree with your point about buying trendy clothes. It drives me crazy when all fashion RUclipsrs say "Never buy trendy clothes. Always stick to the classics/basics". Fashion is all about expressing yourself. In my opinion, trendy fashionable guy always looks better than classic styled guy. Nothing wrong with wearing timeless clothes but it will never make you stand out from the crowd. Classic clothes are too overrated. I love oversized fitted clothes. Wearing oversized fitted clothes makes person from normie to guy from the Paris fashion week.
You can be and look trendy stylish while still having the foundations of being classic or well dressed. The thing to me is some people want all the answers in do exactly this or wear only that. The things IMO is knowing the foundations of good classic style or being well dressed and then being able to add layers of clothing style and trend in or out as needed. I was decluttering my clothes yesterday and found that I have tons of graphic tees in all different colors and not a single tee with a solid color. I saw that I wasn't even wearing a single one of them. Your video really helped, I will keep these in mind the next time I go shopping.
hey man I was wondering if you could make a video/tutorial on how to get pants tailored? I'm struggling to figure out the right length to cut different pants at. Thanks for all that you do!
I really appreciate tip #8. as a thin guy, I'm learning to embrace relaxed fit pants and experiment with different fits that I'd be hesitant to try otherwise. thanks for another solid list, man.
Yeah I totally get that. I don’t get everything in every color, but I do like my Dress Trousers in a variety of colors of the same fit style I enjoy. I do wear the colors and my favorite more than others. But true, most people don’t.
Baggy clothing can look pretty dope...especially if you do it in an alternative way. I‘m afraid people watch these style videos and in the end they all look the same ;D People, just wear what you want and what makes you feel good. Self-confidence looks much better than any trend.
I do think oversized clothing can be pulled off when done tastefully, as I mentioned in a later point in the video 🙂 I myself love a good oversized fit. 100% agree on wearing what makes you feel good! That's a message I try to get across in my videos 🙂
Good video, Tim. It’s a good reminder, especially for people like me who have gotten a good grasp of the basics from r/MFA and are slowly developing our own personal style. Some of the tips are actually things I’ve been worrying about/considering, like it’s ok for different pants to have different fits or to experiment with different pieces and not needing everything to be interchangeable! These tips help to keep my obsession with the hobby in check, and it reminds me not to rush this fashion journey.
I now watch fashion videos for the basics and neutral tone items. I always shopped for stuff that brought me joy. Now I am finding that balance in between.
Graphics work as a casual wear. Its hard to pair it with outer wear unless it just works or the graphic is like one main image in the center. The only down side is you need a lot of solids to contrast the graphics
10000%yes on a tailor. I'm make clothing and tailor clothes. I suggest when you go to a tailor, try each the item on. Each garment is different and it helps the tailor see exactly what to change. THey will get to know you and make suggestions on what will look best. I love making peoples clothes fit. It does help with confidence too. :)
I disagree with graphic tees. I have a bunch, and they tell a story about me and are good conversation starters. A graphic tee tucked into jeans is a great easy outfit for most days at school/college. Not for every day, but a good daily when you don't want to put too much effort into the outfit. Great tips beside that tho!
I was the same as you when I was young, wear both baggy clothes + pants, and yes it's look VERY ridiculous when I looking at the photos of me wearing those. Then, when I go to college, I learn to wear clothes that "proper" and comfortable for myself (not just to look cool). Thanks man for sharing your journey with clothing, advice, and inspiration to us.
thank you so much in this! I sometimes had an anxiety of finding the perfect clothes for me but hey it's fashion like what you've said! excited on your new one!
Great tips, man! Especially with where pants don't have to be the same length and that everything doesn't haveto be the same cut. Every now and then I take a leap and buy something that is very different form what I currently own. What I find is that I end up falling in love with the options is gives my wardrobe, and like you said, I won't get bored with my style that way.
He’s kinda like that Gentleman’s Gazette guy on RUclips but cooler and he knows way more about modern fashion and style and I prefer his content way more Edit: I think Tim's cool but I take back whatever I said about Gentleman's Gazette. There are some things I don't like about some of his videos but in the end, I feel like he's also a solid RUclips channel
@@88mothership74 honestly yes. Last year I was quite narrow minded and just passed with him. After viewing some of his videos, he actually gives pretty good advice and tips on a number of things. I meant gentleman's Gazette
I disagree with the number 6 but because I like shirts from bands, some street and independent brands, but the others tips are on point. Another great video, Tim!
It's not a hard-rule in my books! Just in 95% of the cases from personal experience. I think some band t-shirts can look great in the proper outfit 🙂 Thanks Renan!
A thing i wish i found earlier is slingbags or any type of unisex small bags cause backthen my jeans pockets were all packed with my edc. Didn't pay much attention to it but it can really ruin the look. Great tips from Tim again. Keep it up man!

I’ve done that graphic tee mistake. I was 2012 and I’d just gotten into college my wardrobe was full of graphic tees. While shopping I’d pretty much only look for the graphics and I never thought about fit, material comfort etc. Now my style has improved dramatically and it’s been years since I’ve even looked at a graphic tee. I’m proud of that.
hey man i just wanted to say ive been enjoying your channel sO much man, youve been such a huge inspiration! thank you for advocating towards change and experimentation! not relevant but you look great man! maybe you could make a video talking about your personal diet/work out routine?
I like your simplistic style. I always try and put my own spin on these tips. Like I'm a metalhead and skater and I love the beach. So I always try and put my spin on these things and its super fun
My biggest tip was that style is not the brand. Sure, some brands are known for the quality of their products, which is good, but it also have to be considered that you’re enjoying it, and not be burning all your savings over it especially when you can’t really spare the money. I just make do with what I have, and it’s been great. C: Enjoyed the video greatly, Thanks Tim!
Yes and no. Subjective in a way that yes, it’s coming from this guy and his particular style. I’d probably say that these are relatively universal styling tips. I tend to wear very very very baggy pants. But, I wear a relatively fitted shirt (not skin tight). So, for example, all pants should not be the same length. Yes, not all of them have to be at the exact same length. I wear trousers that are cropped for a smarter look for when I’m going out at night. Again, I usually wear very baggy clothing. Some baggier than others. Those are just general tips I’d say. Now, not wearing graphic tees, I’d say that’s up for debate. I wear a lot of vintage shirts that have graphics on them, which, you gotta wear those if you have them lol. That fact, I’d consider subjective. Wearing too many watches and bracelets? Yeah that’s a general rule of thumb. Just like not pairing gold and silver together.
I dont think your still responding anymore to comments but I respectfully disagree with alot of your points mainly the “no baggy clothes, stop getting all colors, no graphic T’s” style is different for anyone and you look good in the plain, proffesional, clean style but some people look good in colorful baggy clothes for example tyler the creator, and billie eilish they found a style that matches their personality tyler and billie are goofy, funny, and laid back so their clothing is baggy, wacky, goofy, and colorful I personally like baggy colorful clothes because its comftorable and I just like the goofy silly look
I agree with you. My views have since changed on several of the points I made in this video. I do think there is a distinction to be made however between baggy, relaxed and oversized. I am all for a thoughtfully designed relaxed or oversized piece of clothing worn with the right outfit, but when I think of baggy I think of "grabbing your usual t-shirt three sizes bigger" instead of actually having an item intentionally designed to be oversized in certain areas or have a more relaxed fit, and the former tends to lead to not-so-great results.
When you want to be fashionable in school Bulky heavy ass bag: *hahahaha* Dress codes: *HaHaHaHa* Your bff who doesn't understand your style: *HAHAHAHAHA*
Totally agree with #10! I think people nowadays look towards trends/advice/etc a little *too* much. Everyone should explore the kind of clothing/fashion they want! If it ends up looking good, great. If not, you can always learn from it. Great stuff as always Tim.

The real Chads are the modest and humble. Thanks Tim, I’m remaking my wardrobe and just started with some Uniqlo Oversized T’s and a Uniqlo merino wool baseball cap. Might pickup some Oliver Cabell Low or the Axel Arigato Lo’s.
One thing that I usually dislike about fashion tips (specially for men) is that once you watched one you pretty much watched them all, it is pretty much a tutorial to how look like a average guy: - colourless clothes - white shoes, but you also might be criticized by that, cause makes you look shorter so for safety just use a shoes that matches your pants (remember that they should be black though, so.. not much of a choice unless you are feeling super hyper bold and decide to go with gray) - have your hair always perfectly stylized (of course you only have about two or three hairs options, usually with the sides shaved) - wear boots, boots are manly - stand out of the crowd, wear something unique!!!: a watch (a minimalist one) - seriously, what century do this people come from? Watches have been invented ages ago and are the most common men’s accessories, if it is the most unique thing that you can come up with... just go and get yourself some personality There is so much more that you can do, it is a way to express yourself, and it is fine to use these clothes, but don’t be afraid to go and express yourself, I love playing with colours, stamps and oversized pieces You might want to be careful and not over do, but whatever you wear, wear it confidently, if you loved that oversized pants go for it, let your hair grow and try new things, tou might like it, you might not, but you will have so much fun than people wearing just all black outfits
100% agree with you on all of those points, except the part about everyone giving out the same tips. I think there are plenty of fantastic content creators out there putting out valuable and different advice on fashion/style. Judging from your comment, I assume I could have done a better job at properly communicating my POV in this video, but I do agree with you on everything you said. I'm all for experimentation, playing with different shapes/colors/patterns and expressing yourself through fashion. If anything, I encourage it!

I really appreciate tip #8. as a thin guy, I'm learning to embrace relaxed fit pants and experiment with different fits that I'd be hesitant to try otherwise. thanks for another solid list, man.
Glad you enjoyed it Sam! Much love!
When you said “you don’t need it in every color” I felt attacked! Lol
Haha I've been there!
Yeah I totally get that. I don’t get everything in every color, but I do like my Dress Trousers in a variety of colors of the same fit style I enjoy. I do wear the colors and my favorite more than others. But true, most people don’t.
Was thinking that you're like my style twin!!! I can totally relate to all of these tips!
Haha I knew I wasn't the only one who made all of these mistakes 😅
I love how you do your videos. You don't try hard to coax people. You just love fashion and it can be seen.
Thank you! That's exactly it, glad you see that 😊
Baggy clothing can look pretty dope...especially if you do it in an alternative way.
I‘m afraid people watch these style videos and in the end they all look the same ;D
People, just wear what you want and what makes you feel good.
Yess super glad to hear that Faiz! Definitely don't obsess over every little detail, take it one step at a time and enjoy it 🙂
You are my fashion inspiration. I love your simplicity but with class. Finally found my style.
Thanks man! Really means a lot 🙏
Tim Dessaint Damn! You replied. ☺️ Means a lot, either.
I now watch fashion videos for the basics and neutral tone items. I always shopped for stuff that brought me joy. Now I am finding that balance in between.
Love how your advice and tips are becoming more applicable to any gender!
I'm glad to hear that! Just trying to bring everyone value! 😊
Plain shirt is really catchy though for whom doesn't like to get labeled. But somehow fully printed shirt is really cool!
I will be sending this to my teenage son, but great advice for anyone. Cheers and have a great rest of your week! - Brett
Thanks Brett! Let's step up your son's style game together 😊 Have a great rest of your week as well!
For a typical short asian man like me, your tips are the best.. I always struggled for my clothing, but your tips makes it easier.. Thanks man
Graphics work as a casual wear.
You have a fantastic job! Getting the clothes to fit just right on each person must be so satisfying 😊
It sets you apart otherwise you're just another guy with a white t. Can't get any more expressive with shirts than a good graphic tee.
I did balance that point saying some graphic tees can look great in the proper outfit 🙂 Definitely keep rocking your graphic tees if you enjoy them!
Its really nice to watch a video without half of it being a ad for something
Oh graphic tees, can't stop, won't stop. ✌😂
Glad you got value from it Marc! 😊
He’s kinda like that Gentleman’s Gazette guy on RUclips but cooler and he knows way more about modern fashion and style and I prefer his content way more
Edit: I think Tim's cool but I take back whatever I said about Gentleman's Gazette. There are some things I don't like about some of his videos but in the end, I feel like he's also a solid RUclips channel
Thanks man! I really appreciate it 🙏 Glad you're enjoying the content 😊
Don't sleep on the gentlemens gazette. Apart from their style advise, i find their social advise is very powerful.
@@88mothership74 honestly yes. Last year I was quite narrow minded and just passed with him. After viewing some of his videos, he actually gives pretty good advice and tips on a number of things. I meant gentleman's Gazette
Man!!
You're simply so classy!
Yess that's a great tip! Can't be putting those heavy-ass wallet and keys in the pockets, not only ruins the look it also ruins the pants.
finally! finally! a male style influencer who does not insert a paid sponsorship every five seconds
I've just discovered you channel today and i'm so proud of your work, I mean, the way you speak is great, the background music is always in the right volume, your style is a bop, i love it! sorry for the probable mistakes I don't speak english and i'm from Brazil. New subscriber 0/
Thank you so much for your kind words Alysson! So glad you enjoy the content 😊 And welcome to the channel!
“I hear that quote somewhere, before you go remove one thing”
Is actually a Coco Chanel quote
Your style reflects a more minimalist approach. You edit well. I agree that the balance with ones personal style should be "have fun"!!
-"Before you go out remove one piece of clothing"
- removes pants
To your own risks and peril.
Glad to hear you've improved your style! We all go through that graphic tee phase! Keep it up 😊
*likes the video in an acceptable fashion*
hey man i just wanted to say ive been enjoying your channel sO much man, youve been such a huge inspiration! thank you for advocating towards change and experimentation! not relevant but you look great man! maybe you could make a video talking about your personal diet/work out routine?
Cool tips from your experiences! Keep it up man!
Thanks Joe! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Can't believe this channel isn't bigger. Just stumbled on this from my recommendations and this is some fantastic content. Do keep it up!
Thank you very much! Really appreciate it 🙏
I found this account in Black Friday, after I already bought lot of stuff. But thanks for the tips for the future. :)
I like your simplistic style. I always try and put my own spin on these tips. Like I'm a metalhead and skater and I love the beach. So I always try and put my spin on these things and its super fun
I legit was at the tailor with my prom dress yesterday and now I look at my whole wardrobe and fashion habits differently
Glad to hear that! The tailor is a game-changer!
Easiest subscription decision ever. Great content. Thank you.
That's a quality content...
Really love it!! 😍
Thank you Mayank! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
I really like your videos, they're earnest and straightforward which is refreshing in the fashion sphere
Thank you Josh! Glad you enjoy the content 😊
Another great video my man! Can't wait to see your new apartment in London.
Thanks man! Can't wait to find a good place 😊
My biggest tip was that style is not the brand. Sure, some brands are known for the quality of their products, which is good, but it also have to be considered that you’re enjoying it, and not be burning all your savings over it especially when you can’t really spare the money. I just make do with what I have, and it’s been great. C:
Enjoyed the video greatly, Thanks Tim!
That's definitely a golden tip! Money doesn't buy style.
Thank you, glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🙂
Where'd you get your quarter-zip? I'm digging it!
^^
It's from Everlane 🙂
Thank you ! I believe we all have to pass/experience that "awkward" stage to become more conscious of what you wear!
For sure! We've all looked like fools at some point haha
Isn't most of this stuff very subjective?
When you want to be fashionable in school
Bulky heavy ass bag: *hahahaha*

Thank you so much for your support all along Ben! 🙏
next video: how to style things you used to wear in a modern way :3
Great idea James!
Totally agree with #10! I think people nowadays look towards trends/advice/etc a little *too* much. Everyone should explore the kind of clothing/fashion they want! If it ends up looking good, great. If not, you can always learn from it.
Great stuff as always Tim.
100%! Thank you Aaron, glad you enjoyed the content 🙂
Just found this channel! super impressed wow!!

Might pickup some Oliver Cabell Low or the Axel Arigato Lo’s.
Top 2 fashion RUclipsrs and your not number 2!
Aw thank you so much! Means a lot 🙏
Demn im really finding this channel with all these high quality content videos just right now
Welcome to the channel! 😊
One thing that I usually dislike about fashion tips (specially for men) is that once you watched one you pretty much watched them all, it is pretty much a tutorial to how look like a average guy:
- colourless clothes
- white shoes, but you also might be criticized by that, cause makes you look shorter so for safety just use a shoes that matches your pants (remember that they should be black though, so.. not much of a choice unless you are feeling super hyper bold and decide to go with gray)
- have your hair always perfectly stylized (of course you only have about two or three hairs options, usually with the sides shaved)
- wear boots, boots are manly
- stand out of the crowd, wear something unique!!!: a watch (a minimalist one) - seriously, what century do this people come from? Watches have been invented ages ago and are the most common men’s accessories, if it is the most unique thing that you can come up with... just go and get yourself some personality
There is so much more that you can do, it is a way to express yourself, and it is fine to use these clothes, but don’t be afraid to go and express yourself, I love playing with colours, stamps and oversized pieces
You might want to be careful and not over do, but whatever you wear, wear it confidently, if you loved that oversized pants go for it, let your hair grow and try new things, tou might like it, you might not, but you will have so much fun than people wearing just all black outfits
Your style is so fkn casual and smooth i love it
Thank you very much! I appreciate it 🙏
