These thumbnails are absolute QUALITY
For the secret garden on top of the tower, I believe you have to get a bunch of lizard tails in new game plus in order to be able to reach it.
There’s also a ton of ridiculous secrets, like the 79 steps to enlightenment. Real fun process there.
Getting the platinum trophy is tedious for sure, but it was magnitudes harder on the ps3 version specifically, because that version fucked up the climbing physics to the point that the *slightest* colossus movements make Wander lose balance. Playing through the main game like this is hard enough, but the challenge/time trial modes become borderline impossible.
My only complaint with the remake really is they took out the horn nubs that appear before you fight the final few colossi. It makes your actions feel much more harrowing as the consequences begin to mount up, Making it clear there was no way to turn back from this even if you could.

Yup, it's actually revealed at the end that the colossi were made to contain an ancient evil. By killing them, you are unleashing that evil. Which is why you grow horns and become more evil-looking, the farther you get into the game.

The pace of these uploads is almost too much to watch. Almost.
As much as I respect Bluepoint for the work they did on the PS3 remaster (which the game desperately needed) I think they kind of screwed the pooch on this one and the Demon's Souls remake. The fidelity changes aren't egregious as far as textures are concerned but there is far too much foliage and the lighting isn't nearly as effective at creating a stark atmosphere as the original game, which makes it feel soulless and less unique.

The only way to climb the tower is if you've played through multiple NG+ runs. That's literally the only way to build up the absurd, beyond gamebreaking, amount of stamina it takes.
It was funny how your Stamina circle eventually got so massive it took up like 1/4th of the screen
In the PS2 version you could get up there with only a small amount of stamina because the diagonal-upward jump was bugged (it didn't reduce stamina).
And then you get to the top and…. ?

"Um, actually..." SotC was developed as a PS1 game but got delayed just long enough that it became one of the PS2's first titles. Yeah, I know... It blows my mind too.
@@CERTAIND00M why would you lie about that. The game came out in the end of 2005 because I bought it at that time when I was in ninth grade. The ps3 came out within a year of that. This was the very end of the ps2 so it’s weird for you to say that at all. Not only that anyone with common sense can see the graphics and the polygon level used in the game aren’t even possible on PlayStation One. Or even in the early years of ps2 before double layered discs. You made this entirely up
Hell Ico came out on ps2 and everyone knew this was gonna be the spiritual successor to ico longgggg before sotc even came out. People talked about this game forever before it finally came out

The PS2 game is perfect... aside from that atrocious single-digit framerate you get during colossus battles. I'm hard-pressed to recommend the re-releases for newcomers, for a myriad of reasons, but at the same time... that goddamn framerate. lmao
First Ico, now SotC. Can't wait for The Last Guardian Adumplaze.
This was amazing when it came out. Played this before Ico, didn't even know this was made by the same company.
Back then it wa's rare to see games that have very minimal UI as one of it's features - it definitely helps with the sense if scale of both the worlds and the bosses.

The art style feels a lot duller compared to the original still a good game though.
As some who spent years upon years searching for every white tailed lizard and successfully finding all of them (the last one a hoe, though), this video made me openly weep. Still love you, Adum.

Yeah it's sad how underrated this channel is.
I think adumplaze has a rather small fanbase because you have to be open minded enough to enjoy watching gay furry jokes while also being the kind of person who enjoys scoots edgy humor. Somewhat small center in that venn diagram i think

Pure molecular water is actually a very poor conductor. The reason it's dangerous is because of all the dissolved minerals and even certain sediments being really good conductors.
Wait, really?! I always thought it was because fluid molecules were always rubbing all over each other but it makes sense why metal ALSO conducts electricity, when its molecules stay pretty much put.
@@CERTAIND00M Relative to a fluid with dissolved minerals, yeah, metal is practically standing still, but nothing ever really is until it's at absolute zero. Even then you start getting weird new properties, like superconductivity causing quantum craziness lol.
Even within metals though, there are some rules I don't properly understand about electron exchange. Like how copper is the most conductive while things like aluminum kind of suck at it (relatively).
Then you've got metallic forms of other elements, and even molecules. Metal forms of salts like sodium, lithium and (the most reactive) cesium, which all violently react with water.
A RUclipsr called Thunderf00t aka Dr. Phil Mason actually did groundbreaking research on cesium which was all posted to RUclips.
The same guy also managed to make METALLIC WATER! Anton Petrov did a good vid on that. Turns out, it's gold in colour...
Anyway, I just have a layman's understanding but a big interest in this stuff, and the term "metals" can get really weird when you get into chemistry etc.
In astronomical terms, "metals" when talking about stars means EVERYTHING except hydrogen and helium! It's all over the place lol, but there are great resources right here on YT for this stuff.
I keep forgetting that Adum is a part of the muscular class and it took me a good minute to figure out where "Take the towers down. Now." Was from.

Also judging by the amount of shadow children/creatures with horns in Ico that got sealed away in the castle, I believe the main theory is that Shadow takes place MANY years before the events of Ico itself. For example, the rings in the desert in Shadow can also be seen as the rings where the light filters through to open the gate in Ico. Could just be a case of assets being reused but it's an interesting observation and way of connecting the two games.
Actually, you got it backwards (don't feel bad; they made it super unclear on purpose.) Ico takes place hundreds of years after SotC, at the end of which Wander released the pieces of Dormin trapped inside all those colossi and nearly doomed the entire kingdom in the process. That's why every time a boy with horns is born, they sacrifice him (which is what's happening at the beginning of Ico) because they are worried he is going to be another Wander. I haven't played the Last Guardian but that one is supposed to be take place after Ico.

real talk up to like 3 minutes into the video i still couldn't tell if this was the original game or the remake.
The PS2's resolution was 640x480.
So unless we're talking about emulation (with upscaling & graphic mods), if you can't see the pixels = its the remake.

This is an amazing, classic game, but I've never played it; I only watched my then-significant-other play it. We had a great time, but Scoot keeps pointing out my big problem with this game; I feel terrible that the whole thing revolves around killing these majestic, gigantic creatures that weren't bothering you at all, all for a questionable, selfish goal.

Water actually isn’t a good electrical conductor. The minerals and metals in the water are what will conduct the electricity. We use distilled water to wash down equipment all the time.
