Proud to have marched Coats in 2003. This was about the time they started holding audition camps in Cedar Park Texas. Once they tapped into the Texas talent it was a game changer. So proud when they/we won it all 💯💯💯
The guy that gives the drum major the tempo at 10:30 comes to my highschool to help out with our brass he's a reall dope dude and I can't believe that he worked with the bluecoats and is now helping with us
I am amazed at how much hard work they have to do to keep in unison that takes hard work and they are awesome at that i wish my high school band did something like that keep up the good work and keep up with each other I can here some off keys but I know you can do it I used to be in band and I have very good hearing
Because it's set to autofocus, during which time the lens can't decide whether to focus on the background plane (hornline) or foreground plane (conductor).
To see where the core was, and where it is now. Unreal, gorgeous sound from gorgeous people. Cause the Coats are always the sexiest.
corps* the p and the s are silent my man
Welp, you got me there.
and then there was this year....

Michael McMurray if you’re talking about ‘17, don’t know what your trying make to say because it was a bop🔥
I remember seeing them live at Winston Salem and being able to hear them from the lot as Santa Clara was performing
So loud the audio messed up
This sounds like it was recorded on a potato :(
Yeah sorry Ben, I only had my shitty mic on me that day :/
ToweringTimeTable would still sound good on a potato though
Its not that bad :p Although could do better I guess. Quality seems pretty good though
lol thats the guy who had the flugel solo in the ballad and like 3 other trumpets solos throughout downside up.
FinalBoss2012As Trex said, I hope you know that the comment is from Ben Gunnarson, the flugel and trumpet soloist.
I feel the air only portion of the video is probably one of the underrated badass features of this video :)

McFlurry McMurray Carolina crown mello came to my school
Matt Allan was my drum instructor😎
That's cool but you don't have the one and only Mr. Rider, who marched multiple shows including this one.
Omg I just realized my band has the same warmup in the beginning
literally every band does that
+Alex Wright ok I was just saying
I〈3Betherskikz hahah. That moment you felt special
+Myles Anderson YEAH basically 😂😂😂

At 5:37 is "109.3" the decibel level? That's almost as loud as a clap of thunder
Love that they made the mic clip from too much volume.
I am amazed at how much hard work they have to do to keep in unison that takes hard work and they are awesome at that i wish my high school band did something like that keep up the good work and keep up with each other I can here some off keys but I know you can do it I used to be in band and I have very good hearing

What's up with the camera focusing every 5 seconds?
Because the camera operator is a dumbass
+John Park ha!
Because it's set to autofocus, during which time the lens can't decide whether to focus on the background plane (hornline) or foreground plane (conductor).
+PayneToTheMax Funnily enough it was actually just me trying to get the focus correct but obviously failing miserably
10:50 I can't stop laughing omg
what happened at 10:51?!?!?
Comedy gold.
WHAT COUNT DO WE BREATHE ON?!?!?!?
I like how the mic gets overloaded from the sound....wish I had been there

right around the 4:40 mark, what is this nice little classical style warm-up? It'd be great for my local high school.
It's a chorale but sadly I couldn't tell you which one
So beautiful
Anyone notice that crack on the last note at 6:55?
At 10:51 I just cracked up😂
when you wish you were david glasgow
Ayyyy I hear The Vortex right around 0:28
oh that's cool they do a lot of the same warm ups as my brass does for my high school marching band
AmberCooCoonut these warm ups are actually really common smh. i would be surprised if a band didn't warm up with these like this
They don't do your warm ups, you do their warm ups.
Brass Man yup
at 9'22" --- Is that Scriabin's "mystic" chord?
No, it's a standard major 13 chord with sharp 11: Eb13(#11), thus Eb, G, Bb, D, F, A, C.
I can hear heaven calling to me...oh wait no its just their warmup at 3:55
Shayne is it true you played bottom second split? I heard that and that also you just stacked cords and I couldn't stop laughing. Love ya though
how do they get such a full tone
why did he ask how long and whats the 109 mean
1:52 exercise?
Air Flow #3. It can be found in their music audition packets.
Okay thanks
What is the exercise at 4 minutes that starts with a f maj triad?
It's called "Thumbs"; it can be found in their music audition packet and is featured in a lot of their hornline videos.
Thanks for the help!
damn those chords tho
9:19
what's that exercise at 1:52 and what is it for? It sounds so cool.
it's just lip slurs running up the octaves to help lip flexibility, great warm up
1:50 is my favorite
Kris Moore do you know what it is called
Kris Moore Airflow #3 in the Bluecoats Audition Packet.

109mb? Please elaborate.
Decibels? dB
Matthew Hancock apparently 109.3 dB is equal to the volume of a rock concert.
Matthew Hancock according to Google anyways.
I think it's closer to a jet engine than a rock concert
Im sort of new with this but what are the numbers? Like 109.3?
Martriox EVG it means 109.3 dB, or decibels, meaning volume. According to Google, that's about as loud as a rock concert.
Martriox EVG or a jet taking off (from 305 meters away)
Hannah Geppert 😂
Ruined by distorted, compressed sound at the end. Shame.
JUDAS!
3:57
Oh ye ye
What is 3:56 called
Conner Hutto thumbs
Y y'all blasting, that makes ugly sounds, and it sounds weard tuning with an A flat( just sayin
