    I find it gold that at 9:35 - 9:46 is that Oracle is asking the same questions Steven asked him, I find that weirdly wholesome. For some reason.

    What an amazing concept the town of Cate's Crossing is! It has evil old people who traffick children, vengeful ghosts, an alien virus, genetically modified insects, inverted humanoids travelling backwards in time, an AI computer with a God complex, humans who have mutated into monsters, and a Lovecraftian entity living under the ground who wants to destroy everything. And yet somehow it all fits together! You've done an amazing job man, and if there's any justice in this cruel world a decent company like Shudder will get hold of this and turn it into a Twin Peaks like series. You deserve it!

    While yours is not as scary, and the lore is less of a puzzle box, you BY FAR have the best storytelling chops. This writing feels professional! Love these characters, especially poor oracle.

    I love how these series have tied into each other! They each stand well on their own but are so much greater together. I also really appreciate your overall content style because I love the vibes of horror, the stories, the concepts--but I just can't handle most mainstream horror because of jumpscares or specific typically-recurring things. The way you deliver your stories maintains all the fun and fear of horror without the parts that make it unsafe for me.

    • @Pragabond
      @Pragabond Год назад

      Lol I can maybe help you with with "typically-recurring things". Those are called tropes and yeah they really do ruin most horror without a doubt.
      Although honestly what ruins mainstream horror for me most of the time is just the main characters being idiots in order to get into danger to begin with. If all I have to do to survive or avoid the horror is make normal, sane, just about room temp IQ decisions it stops being scary.

    Since this released closely to the final episode, I figured I'd just binge it all again. I like the unexpected happy ending. Sure, Adam is a program, but after passing Oracle's tests and agreeing to help Oracle, he seems to have earned his happiness. The only drawback is that he now knows that it's all simulated, and because he's the closest to being human, that means no one else in his world can truly empathize with him.
    What I actually find concerning is the person who discovered the videos. It's like something Oracle discarded or stored in a distance folder. They may fear it, but from the sounds of it he isn't even influencing the world anymore; content with his own little world and his 'surrogate son.' I fear digging too deep would be like poking a hornets' nest. If they prove to be annoying, that's when he'll decide it's best to restablish his influence again.

      I mean, if anything, Oracle might turn out to be humanity’s greatest ally against some of the scarier creatures still out there… there’s still a Lovecraftian monster under the swamp, for one thing. I feel like Oracle’s work is not yet done in this overarching story.

    As someone who experiences psychosis and dissociation, the fact that Oracle was going (paraphrased), "It doesn’t matter that you are ones and zeros instead of flesh and blood. Everything you experienced was real to you, making it real and valuable" was oddly comforting to me, which I think may be due to the fact that when I'm experiencing simulation-related delusions brought on by existential stress and dread (or as I term them, "existential delusions"), I feel like if we are in a simulation, then nothing is real, and if nothing is real, then nothing matters, which can send me to a dark place. Oracle saying that it doesn’t matter if you are in a simulation or not because what you experience(d) is real to you, therefore making it real, then it matters gives me something to hold onto during those times.
    I really like this series.

    Also, ‘Project Genesis’ just gave me so much chills. I love concepts of creation by some kind of higher being, regardless of where it’s from and it’s intentions. It’s a fascinating way to explore meaning of existence and the facts of our reality and possible others.

      @@zoeyrochellezhombie829 People still believe there are ‘good words’ and ‘bad words’ in 2023?! I’m old-in my 40s-and I’ve thought that was a ridiculous notion since I was old enough to consider it. Probably between ages 7-9. There are no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ words-only polite and impolite usages. To say something is ‘fucking awesome’ is complimentary. To call someone an ‘oversensitive fuckwit’ is an insult. In neither case is the so-called ‘F-bomb’ to blame for the attitude of the phrases; it’s the intention behind them and the tone of delivery. One can also be absolutely offensive without any ‘bad words’ at all: Please, grow up and grow some thicker skin. The world is not safe, and life is not a easy ride. Almost by definition, life will hurt you. It’s up to you, though, to choose what you allow to hurt you and what you don’t. I decided when I was about 8 or so that, if they wished, a person could hurl insults at me all day and it would be like water off a duck’s back. However, if onewere to lay an hand on me or anyone I’ve taken under my protection, I will make sure they think of me and their mistake every time their broken ribs, wrist, and dislocated patella ache.

    Let me just say… that this is the most beautiful analog horror story that I have ever watched. Ever since The Oracle Project, I had liked Oracle and didn’t really see “it” as a major threat. Sure “it’s” motive fit the role of communism… something that the freedom of the land hates… but it wasn’t for control. Oracle really just wanted to make sure that everyone had a purpose in life… and that’s why I liked “it” and felt bad at the end when Dr. Steven died. What really sold it for me was when “it” wasn’t the stereotypical “machine takes over humanity” thing… Oracle had good intentions… it was just the way “it” did things that made “it” seem evil… and I was really hoping Oracle wouldn’t be a monster: Now this…. This video right here… this was what I wanted… Oracle did all of this… all because “it” was lonely… and Oracle just wanted to understand humans better… so “it” created “it’s” own. I might be crazy but as a Tumblr user… I have come to terms with that. I hope Oracle can create the world “it” wanted, and make new friends like Adam… I would definitely want to be Oracle’s friend. Well done Vintage Eight… very well done indeed.

I was able to make predictions and be right about them, but it felt different with the ongoing oracle stuff since it felt more like a reward to be right then just being right. it was like “omg i was right that means this plot is even cooler then i thought it was before!!!” Anyways i’ll say it again- this was AWESOME and i can’t wait to see more with this expanding on these themes/ideas/ and even characters.

    Hello, Vintage Eight. I didn't complete the Tangi Virus, but I did complete The Oracle Project and this one. As an aspiring story-writer, this is the kind of story-telling I enjoy. You've inspired me. Keep up the great work. Hope to see more from you, soon.

    how the hell do you not have at least 50K subscribers? it's insane. Ive been a subscriber sense i saw the Tangi virus, and your making small horror series, but somehow, you break quality over quantity, an make a whole lot of series, with the utmost quality. you have a true talent. bravo.

    39:23 I love the symbolism of the woman looking up and screaming the second Oracle's text pops up on screen. *And then she gets eaten headfirst, but it looks like Oracle's "eating" the woman!* Beautiful work, vintage 8!

    You know the answer “because it’s the colour of money” was such a hilariously shallow answer that my mind instantly screamed “bot bot bot bot bot”
    Auto-generated personality without question.
    Also Edward crow? Really Adam?

    There's something so poetic of this.
    Oracle was a program made by humans, who then created their own world.
    The humans who made it, where not of flesh but of words. Words you created to replicate our reality.
    Oracle is a god in a gods world.
    I find that intriguing

    There's a bizarre number of Biblical parallels in this. Whether it be the first truly sentient and sapient program he created being named Adam, the fact that the project this was all a prelude to - quite literally creating a world - is called Genesis, the several direct and indirect comparisons made between Oracle and God.. it's an interesting use of Biblical inspirations, to say the least.

    • @FissionCube
      @FissionCube Год назад +2

      also the whole thing was 7 trials (with the 8th just being oracle telling adam about what happened) which i assume is supposed to parallel the biblical 7 days of creation. and of course adams gf is named evie lol

    Weird how the intro hyped it up as some oncoming disaster for humanity when in reality it's ultimately just a life simulation. Leave Oracle and Adam alone, they'll be fine (I think)

    You make very cool series!!! It's amazing to see some references between all your works, and every work you make has a cool concept. At the start I was a bit unpleased with how the Oracle changed its whole personality, but it was fun to know that that change was also a part of the experiment.
