Unfortunately it won't. Unless they consider the Unplugged record for next year. The studio version was considered this past year and it loss.
It was already nominated for best R&B album along with Musiq & Ledisi. Unfortunately a lot of people thought Bruno was better and he beat them out.

I randomly ran in to Bishop James Morton at a restaurant a couple of months ago. I knew I recognized him as a Bishop but couldn't put his name to his face. So I had to speak to him while he waited for his order. We had a short conversation. But I felt led as a fellow brother in Christ (COGIC) to pay for his dinner. Wanted to Bless the man of God. I need to get more of PJ Morton's music. I hear bits and pieces, just need to make him a part of my catalogue.

Chris Patton Right. This man is straight from the church. His father is Bishop Paul Morton. I love that he is unwavering in his commitment to create on his terms. He won't let the church put him in box and neither will he allow the mainstream music industry to alter his musicianship or his personal style. He's a real musical talent, and we're so blessed because he chooses his creativity over other people's expectations.
Chris Patton he’ll have his time in the sun. Every artist has to go through obscurity before gaining success. It’s a natural thing to experience as a musician in the entertainment world.

PJ has already made it in my opinion. He's a professional musician at the top level of the industry. Just because his name isn't as famous as the groups he's played with doesn't mean he isn't incredibly successful. Most aspiring musicians would trade an arm and a leg for his status. Success shouldn't be defined by celebrity. That being said I agree more people should listen to his music.
Over exposure can kill the music. True musicians are already "having their time in the sun" if they are making their own music. We need to think twice about equating ridiculously busy and/or rich and/or over exposed with success and happiness. Is anyone old enough to remember Christopher Cross? Anyone? Yah.

But since he's actually singing about love and positive things you have to watch here to hear it. I'm a musician/songwriter and lover of REAL music. When I buy a new project I'll usually put it on repeat and play it over and over...until I pretty much get tired of it. I did the same thing with this project...and I have to say I'm not (even close to) tired yet! A day doesn't go by where I'll at least reference and/or play one of these songs. Easily the best complete album that I've heard in decades. Every song is good enough to stand out on its own. Blessings to you PJ. I hope you reap the joy (10X over) that you've deposited into the universe through this project.
