Thanks for letting me know and bringing that to my attention, I was totally ignorant to the name change with the limes and didn't mean any offence, sincere apologies if this upset anyone watching. I understand now the negative connotations associated with the previous name... moving forward I will be calling them Makrut Limes in future. Thanks, yes I think it was well worth the money too! Hope you have a good weekend up there on the sunny coast😊
@@janecannon5567 it is just the name of the lime that has been changed, the leaves are used fresh. My supermarket sells the leaves, I am not sure where you will find the fruit.
Thanks😊 That's crazy isn't it?!! Especially when you stop and think about the number of items it's for and what it used to cost for them only a few years ago! How things have changed😔
Hello from Idaho! I just found your videos. Really enjoy see what's available from your foodbank, and of course like listening to your accent. Do you ever think you'll make videos showing the meals that you make? I think that would be really interesting.
G'day over there and welcome! That's so nice to hear, glad you enjoy the videos. Hopefully in the future you may see some different cooking videos from me too - stay tuned! Thanks so much for watching😊
Thanks Judy😊 Yes lots of good stuffs! They had a nice mix of both the fruit and veggies in this week's box. Hope it's just a rain thunderstorm you're getting without any damage. Blessings to you too!
You did well with the ready meals, it's nice to have them as a quick option. The only thing I do to save money is to send the husband to the shops with a list, he hates the supermarket so only will grab what we need. Hope you are enjoying the Easter holidays, are you getting a day off for the Coronation... a day off is good for any reason.
Hey Al! Thanks, the ready meals are definitely convenient when you don't feel like cooking or need food super quick! Sounds like your husband is a big help for your budget - that's a wise move to send him to the shops😄Yes it's nice to have a break from the school routine. It doesn't look likely that we'll get a public holiday for the King's Coronation in Queensland. It will work out to be on a Saturday evening here to watch the ceremony. Enjoy your holiday on the Monday!
I think you got a great deal with your 10 dollars. The dinners are a good buy and a nice variety of fruit and veggies. Let us know how the crumble was.
wow - by my estimation of costs here in nsw - that fruit & veg wouldve easily cost $26 ...more likely about $30...in our area, the prices are shocking....so glad to know about these resources - not sure what we'ed be doing other than perhaps living on noodles tx for your updates and recipes - v helpful
You definitely definitely did good. 3 of those ready meals cost nearly £ 8 here in England. It used to be £ 5.50 for 3 pasta meals from Asda. Well the Apples can be Pie or Crumble and the sweetcorn could be chowder, the other fruit could be used a fruit on the bottom with sponge on top. An oldie but goodie with custard..
Thanks! Yes I thought I did pretty good, was happy with what I paid. Seems prices have gone up everywhere! Apple pie would be nice. I grew up watching my mother, grandmothers and aunties all cook... love all the old classic desserts and recipes😊
I'm in line at our late afternoon once a month food pantry starts at 4 I got here at 3:20 and there are already 11 cars in line and now three people behind me for where I live in Central Illinois in the states that is a long line. I watch other RUclips videos and I see people lined up for miles hard for me to believe. Do you have long lines when you go?
Hey Debbie! I've noticed this particular food bank that I go to on Thursdays get steadily busier and busier over the last few months. There is usually many people (20 plus people perhaps) waiting for them to open their doors each week now as opposed to the church food pantry that I go to on Friday's which is usually pretty good - sometimes I may be the only one going through! I have been to other food banks over here last year too where it wasn't unusual to have to wait in a line of 50-100 people and wait up to an hour to get to the front! So I suppose it varies really. Hope you didn't have to wait too long and you received some great stuff😊
There is a new name for those limes they are now known as makrut limes. I think it is a great haul for $10. Well worth it!

You could always cut the corn off the cob it would make it go further. Good variety of food.😊
Thanks Rosemarie😊 Yes you do always seem to get the most out of the corn when you do that - very handy to add it to recipes that way too!
