      Yes lol! Makes you wonder what happened to it... there was a second even more dented container there at the food bank too... perhaps they got damaged in transit to the supermarket??! Was definitely a stroke of good fortune for me and am so grateful to get it! Best wishes to you and your family for a happy Easter too Mona😊

    Lots of good food. Especially the olive oil. That was a great blessings for your family. With the tuna I take two cans and two cans crea🎉m of mushroom and two cans of milk .Take a ten ounce of rippled potato chips and crush them good. Use a two quart casserole dish and spray it and put a few chips on bottom to layer. Save some mushroom soup to put over top .save some chips for top of soup put one can peas into soup mix.cend with soup mix . Bake at 375 degrees for about 75 minutes. And enjoy. I grew up on this recipe and I still make it and for my kids. Have a good day.

    Curried snags with carrots, potatoes and onions..add in some frozen mixed veg at the end..season well as they need it!..all you need is a heaped tablespoon curry powder with a 1/4 tsp sugar to counteract the intensity of curry powder..fry onions and the curry powder with sugar..add your carrots spuds..stir until slightly golden pour in boiling water..up to half a casserole dish..sausages..add them but boil first the sk8ns will remove themselves..dice them and add ..simmer for 40 mins..add the mixed veg or fresh beans 10 mins before..rice..bread..to go with it..

      @@makingendsmeet your welcome. I have volunteered with our local food bank to pass out food. I have encouraged people to take advantage. We have a Mobil drive through where food is distributed in different parts of the city and surrounding counties. The only requirement is you must live in the county where the food is being given away.They give extra food for children. I enjoy seeing how creative people can be with different foods on a budget.

    Hi...food banks in my town are free. So, what does the $10 etc you have to pay go towards...who benefits from it?

    • @makingendsmeet
      @makingendsmeet  Год назад

      Hi Sandra, You're fortunate indeed to have food banks like that. This food bank I go to on Fridays is run by a church. My understanding is that the $10 I pay is used towards them purchasing any extra goods that may not be covered by their own funds and donations already and for things like the cost of fuel, electricity for refrigeration/freezers etc. to store the food. They get a large amount of the dry goods items for the boxes they provide from the larger charity organisation 'Foodbank Australia', which has warehouses enabling smaller charities access to free and heavily discounted groceries donated by supermarkets, businesses and farmers, some of these items I believe still have a cost to the church. Not to say that there's some food banks in Australia that provide food completely for free, this is just how this one operates. Thanks so much for your great question and for watching😊
