I started stocking up 2nd half of Jan 2020. In early Feb, near my deceased husband's birthday and our anniversary, I could hear his voice say, as clear as day, to make up boxes of preps for our two sons and their partners. The oldest one thought I was bat shit crazy and refused to take them. Weeks later, his partner came for a visit and said my son was getting a bit stroppy because he could not find what he wanted at the supermarket ( as the great shelf emptying had begun) His partner said that he if he had taken what I offered that would have meant that I was right. I agreed and then I told her if she took the stuff he could still save face. I told her to back up her car to my garage and load it up what I had packed for them. 6 large tubs.
The second son came to me when he could not find canned tomatoes, pasta or sugar at the store. I told him that as I didn't know what he and his partner liked to eat, to sort through what was there and to take what he wanted and leave the rest. I told him I would grab what he was looking for if I was out shopping.
Now things are getting short again here. (Australia) and we have planted a veggie garden. Still have full fridges and full food pantry.

Now, replacing what we use will suck more because of prices.... bigger garden this year, and adding more fruit trees will help a ton. Getting creative and looking at WW2 recipes is super helpful!

That's great u are stocking up, especially with having little ones. Have you considered doing a "long term" 20-30 years food storage like; dry Rice, beans, lentils, oatmeal, dry milk, sugar, wheat berries, salt, spices, freeze dried fruit & vegetables. You can buy a 50 pound bag of rice at Sam's club for 23 bucks. Then you store it in mylar bags with oxygen observer in 5 galon food grade buckets. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERY FAMILY TO DO THIS., AND TO RESEARCH "LONG TERM FOOD STORAGE " so you do it properly , it's very easy.

My boyfriend and I save a lot of money shopping at Costco for just the two of us. Recently we were both sick at the same time and had to buy some things from the local shops and were shocked at the prices! We use a lot of fresh-to-frozen food and we also buy meat and freeze portions until needed. Costco has so many healthy options that store well, and one of my favorite things is the pre-packaged cooked rice to make easy meals quickly so we are less tempted to eat out. We don't have an extra freezer, unfortunately, or I would probably stock up more. I do make good use of the space we have, though, for things like when meat is on sale. We do have a large pantry, so whenever possible I try to get dry goods.

We have 2 closets half a garage and a walk in pantry we get stocked up, due to the pandemic we have alot of elderly people in our community here in Vegas that are either unable to get to the store all the time or is to scared to go into the public so we would stock up of dry foods, personal care bs, and almond milk cereals, rice etc and go around with a list of items we bought extra and ask them if they need to purchase anything so they don't have to leave their homes and sale them the items so it's like a lil personal shopper type of bs. My kids wanted to help during the pandemic/ quarantine. We usually also recieve coupons for diapers and formula and there's a women a couple of houses down that has triplets and her husband is stationed 6 months out of the yr in different states so anything helps for her. You know if ppl help out ea other not saying we have to help out everyone but if we just try to help ppl whom are unable to help themselves because of this bs pandemic it would be a better world if you ask me....

Don't feel like you have to explain why you buy extra food, supplies, preps, whatever. You do you! When hard times come, and they will, you'll be ahead of a lot of people. I've kept a 2 year supply of toilet paper well before covid hit. I never had to worry about the TP rush of 2020. I also keep a 1 year supply of food and basic hygiene supplies. You should consider storing hard white wheat berries and get a wonder mill or wonder mill jr. to make your own flour. Anyway, hope all is well with you and you are able to store all you need for the coming collapse.

@@frozentogethervlogs @Frozen Together Vlogs *There are only a few car battery manufacturers but many brands like Diehard and Interstate. My Costco (near the "Kirkland" of Kirkland Signature origin) had two versions of Interstate batteries, "good" and "better". The better model is the newer AGM type that is said to have certain benefits including no liquid sloshing around inside. I believe it was $20 more than the other "flooded lead acid" type. Both would probably work fine but if the better one started at some point in the future where the other wouldn't it would be worth the extra. Costco does not install batteries and they may charge a "core" fee ($10-$15) until you return the old battery. I'm glad you were able to rescue your coffee from underneath your purchases...* 8:14
