Now that it has been 5 additional months since you asked, do you feel the same way about Riverside.fm? Have any of the other services risen to the challenge?
Again, rad review of the options. Savin' me time and headspace by just giving great info (in entertaining ways). Red Circle & now Riverside are my go-tos. I'm 5 episodes in to my new podcast and the feedback I've been getting from clients and friends has been ahhmazing...and I likely wouldn't have gotten started so quickly (from solid idea to 1st episode in 1 week) without your videos. So, thank-you!! High fives Pete!
Great video Pete! Really thorough and helped me find Riverside! What I did to start out was to use Zoom for the interview + video, then I used the free version of Zencastr at the same time to capture the audio in decent mp3 quality on separate tracks. Now I'm looking to up my video quality and Riverside seems like a no-brainer there! Can't wait to see how Zencastr's video features turn out though!
Thank you SO much for this video! New podcaster about to get started and this helped me so much. Creative, concise, good quality. Awesome work. Is Riverside still your go to? Also what kind of camera are you using for this vid? Super clean.
Really great video. Tried Zencastr and it was just ok. Right now starting off using Zoom and it is working well. I can't tell the difference in the audio quality between Zoom and any of the others right now.
Hi Pete, thanks for this video. I plan to interview using zoom. Now is there a way to just record audio? Should I record on laptop or is it ok to use iPad/iPhone? Finally can I convert the audio file on iTunes and post produce on auphonic? Carrie
The frustrating thing is that Riverside only works on Chrome. Many people don't use Chrome and with the recent security concerns about Chrome, I'm a little leery of it. Additionally, I think it's really unprofessional to ask guests to install a piece of software, no matter what it is, in order to meet your recording needs.
Great video! I definitely agree with you after being on Riverside the last few months. I do wish they sent the scheduling email to hosts and guests like Squadcast does but its not a big enough deal for me to switch back at this point.
Hello Pete, I've watched several of your videos and really enjoy your channel. Thanks for all the great content! I'm just starting the process of building my online business, and I can't tell there's much difference between a Webinar and a Podcast? Both seem to be live online video streaming with people watching or attending. What's the real difference between a Podcast and a Webinar? And can Podcast software be used for webinars? Can Webinar software be used for Podcasts? I would love to see you do a video like this for Webinar software/platforms. Thanks Pete for being you!
Great video as always Pete! I have the RodeCaster Pro, and I am looking for an option to get great audio, zoom works but the audio can be not so great at times. Which of these options you think would be the best option to record straight into the Rodecaster Pro? I would like to do very little to no post-production work since the Rodecaster already has great audio processing
I honestly hadn't even heard of it, but looks slick! I estimate 3-5 more companies like this coming into the market within the next few months. It's crazy right now.
Hello! Thank you so much for your video. My friends and I are in the planning stages of our first podcast. Due to quarantine we are trying to figure out how to record from different states, would your recommendations work for that situation? Or would that be a different type of recording software?
Thanks for the insight. Clear and concise. (and fun to watch) Two questions: 1) Is using MS Teams an option and if so how do you rate it, and 2) if I do use Zoom (I'm considering stepping into podcasting), can you separate the audio from the video? Thanks in advance, Raman
1 - No idea. Never used it, and I don't know anybody else who has either lol. I don't THINK it was meant to be anything related to podcasting at all--so probably not? 2 - Yup! Every Zoom recording will give you a master audio file in addition to video--AND there's a setting to download each track separately (you and your guest, etc). It's definitely not flawless, but it works.
@@DoYouEvenBlog Interesting to hear that no one has ever used (or asked about) MS Teams. :-) I thought I'd ask because you mentioned Skype and Zoom, and I always thought they were only meant for meetings. Anyway, thanks for the reply! 👍🏽
Got any questions? DROP EM HERE. Else tell me what tool you use to record interviews. Any thoughts?
I want to know how you do the "menu" at the bottom of you video. So cool!

The pro riverside subscription says for 10 hrs/ a month? That seems like a low number for the $
Wow that video is pure joy! We're stoked to be named the best remote recording software for existing podcasters 🙏
No problemo. Thanks for making great products :)

Nice and straight to the point on the various subjects. Much better than most podcast tip videos I've watched.
Thank you Pete this was an awesome breakdown! I always enjoy watching your videos! I am going to use this for my podcast.
Awesome! Thank you Jonathan!
Haven't started yet, great Video to help me decide!
Exactly the review I was after, thank you very much 🙏🏼
Great content and great delivery Pete!! 💪👏👏
Just subscribed, so I'll be looking forward to more great stuff!
Cheers from Portugal 🤜🤛
Aw thanks Eloi! You're awesome, my friend. :)
This is awesome. Very helpful. Thanks! :)
hey you're welcome!
This vid is hella useful. Thank you for doing all the leg work!
Peter, I like your videos and your charisma. Thank you!
I appreciate that! And you're welcome :)

I've heard good things (I'm technically in the Zencastr beta--but haven't gone in at all). Riverside is solid though :)
@@DoYouEvenBlog nice! I’m on the wait list for Zencastr video. Please make a video on it whenever you can. I’d love to check it out!
This is so helpful, wow. Thank you!!! Great video!!!
Glad it was helpful!

Hey Man, great video! Extremely helpful! Thank you
Glad it helped!
Most of my interviews are done via phone. Only Skype allows me to do this.
Nah. Riverside.fm has a great iPhone app for recording interviews. Coming to Android soon, too, I believe.
@@DoYouEvenBlog How soon?
What about anchor? You can host and record with your friends remotely within the anchor app. What do you think of this?

Same! In fact, need either of them to make Zapier integrations ASAP so I can integrate Meetingbird or Calendly :/
Feedback is taken; we're working on it!
How would you miss Anchor

OK Pete - Make the call for the best audio between Free Zoom Plan vs Free Zencaster mp3 only recording?
Zoom. For sure.

I don't know why people dump on Skype. I've used it for years without a problem. I record the video and it sounds perfectly fine.
Thanx bud.

Update to this video now that Zencastr has video?
Riverside Fm requires you to have google chrome. Doesn’t support other browsers
Why can they not record Video as well? A shame
Which one?
They're all working on it, at least. Zencastr has it now in addition to Riverside. No clue when Squadcast's will drop lol
Are you even a podcasters, if you use anything but .WAV????
