Definitely would love your thoughts as well @Tombuck. Like you, I have been using Ecamm Live for my video and podcasting needs in conjunction with Restream. Could this replace the need for The Ecamm or nawww??? 🤔🤗

Hi Curtis. Very happy to see your review of the service. I was just about to join it after some testing and it seem to me to be the best product out there now especially with the 4K options. thank you for all your hard work!
Hi Curtis, I just saw this video in March 2024. Many thanks. Could it be possible to re-review Riverside now that we are 2-3 years down the road? Thanks, Peter.
The problem with Riverside and its competitor, Zencastr, is that even though you get a great local copy of audio and video, during the recording there can be substantial lag which makes a conversation impossible. Ideally this would be solved by everyone having an ethernet connection but as most people are home during the pandemic, we are stuck with show WiFi and interference from microwaves, etc. For guests with poor WiFi Riverside and Zencastr are simply not an option.
Yes, thanks for calling that out. If you're trying to record quality, participants really need to be on a wired connection with a strong internet connection as well. Fortunately, I didn't run into any lag issues on the scratch audio and video and of course the higher quality recorded video is cached in the browser so that hasn't been a problem.
@@AllenCavedo Guests are where the issues can come in. I can't expect guests to have the perfect recording set up. That's where the whole process falls down (not a Riverside issue, but across the board).

Great video. Any idea on how to check how many hours you’ve used up already? And will it just stop your recording if you get to your max hours or will it let you go over then charge you extra or something … also will the hours from your previous month carry over if they are unused?? Thanks
Thank you Curtis. Have you used teleprompter for your client on a mobile with riverside.? How did it work out? Thank you for your videos , they are very helpful.

Such a great review Curtis. Have you had any issues with the sync when guests use a usb mic with their built in laptop camera? Also is there an option to record 25 fps? Thanks
Hi Tommy, yes, that is a problem regardless of which service one uses for the recording as the latency is inherent in the bluetooth connection. Last I checked, Apple AirPods have less latency than most at 300ms which is an enormous amount of latency. Bluetooth is not my favorite for the purposes of recording or streaming.
Very interesting, thank you. Thinking of the multicam post process - Are the audio and picture recordings timecoded to facilitate synchronizing both within and among audio/video recordings?
Hi Owen, good question, I didn't specifically check for that but when I used the FCP "create new multicam..." using the waveforms, it was able to sync it perfectly.

It's the right way to do it. Now for in depth customer purchase/advice type of videos, it would be good to add a small segment with something like a Rode Mini or Samson Q2U or a SM58 through a cheap Behringer interface and a Logitech webcam with Ikea housebulbs and DIY diffusion, just to give newcomers a "real" audiovisual impression of what they can get for cheap and to show that the service scale with the equipment.
