I have the exact jonhson 9.9 1983 still have the original OMC tag. Anyhow. Ive found more trouble with the float seizing up. And that canter pin needele seems impossible ro reove i cant get out. Its made for some kind of special tool. The needle doesnt move in these anyway correct? No slide so it must be stationary
There is a small wire on the needle that attaches to the floater. When the floater go down It pulls the needle down to let fuel in. Don't try to replace the brass needle housing because the thread of the new part is wrong.
Hi, I have clean my carburator on a 1979 15 hp evinrude and cleaning the carburator the bearing P#314166 came off. I notice a crack on the side and decided to replace it with the new one of the carb kit but I couldn't push it all the way gently tapping on it and I used the air mixin deedle valve to gently push it all the way. now I have a new problem because i can only get it to idle at 1/4 turn open. what would be the best way to push the bearing all the way ? thanks for your video, now I have a much better idea on how to properly clean my carb>
my engine wont pull any fuel into the intake., I rebuild my carb, have 70 psi compression,, checked float, the carb is getting the bowl filled with fuel not sure why
@@BoatMotors yes, choke works fine,, it wouldnt even pull fuel into the engine when I squirted it into the throat of the carb then c,losed the choke plate and cranked it with a drill.. if I removed carb and sprayed into the reed block intake, the engine would start..
at first I thought for sure my float was set too low, but I adjusted it, and im getting a full bowl.,,. I dont understand how these plastic top carbs work.,, I see theres 3 different gaskets used on them,, mine looks to be correct.
Thank you!
It is my pleasure!

If the motor work good with 1/4 turn don't force it
