Dual Dynamic Hybrid Nickel Bass Strings tap into the unique sound and feel of both nickel and steel with a nickel outer winding that provides a big, punchy low end and an inner steel winding that puts your groove front-and-center with an aggressive midrange. And under the fingers, they’re comfortable to play-from tone to touch, you won’t find a more exceptionally balanced set of bass strings.
Renowned bassist, composer, and instructor Jacob Umansky shares his thoughts and feelings about these new strings and how they hold up to his high and exacting standards.
According to Jacob, modern bass players have to compete mightily for real estate in the mix especially with lower tuned guitars. Also for many they use a variety of techniques like slapping and tapping that require clarity and great responsiveness. More than ever its important for them to be able to stand out in the mix and the Hybrid Nickels do just that.
The strings inspired him to compose and perform two original new pieces of music for this special launch of a very special string.
    Special Thanks
    Jacob Umansky (performance and composition)
    Nathan Bulla (drums)

I’m still of the mindset that bass should occupy the low end, and guitars should be in the midrange. I don’t tune my guitars past A.

Try finding a bass player who can afford them instead of spending their money on weed and tattoos.
