    This will push Samsung into finally waking up and innovating further. I already see quite a few Galaxy Folds out in the wild and the ZFold 6 will hopefully truly crack the market.

      If Samsung manages IP68 and at least the 108MP camera from the S22 Ultra on the Z Fold 6 there would be little compromises.

      Samsung is innovating behind close doors. They've been working on a ZFold with an S-Pen built in it for a few years now. They patent the Technology a few years ago.

    • @CrossCuntyRic
      @CrossCuntyRic Год назад +3

      Not sure how this could be “innovated” further when the only major gripe people have with the Z Fold is is narrow screen. How exactly is widening the screen an innovation? Alot of people prefer the narrow screens. This OnePlus does not even support a stylus, much less a DeX monitor platform. No wireless charging capability, no reverse wireless charging capability, limited water and dust resistance, and OneUI in itself is arguably the the better android implementation (Google cannot even fix the Pixel Fold stock software). OxygenOS has gone downhill ever since OnePlus decided to make more ColorOS-like. Gone are the missing simplicity of the system as a whole. People love to point out the lack of a crease but it’s easy to forget that Samsung owns the ultrathin glass trademark and everybody else with an ultrathin glass implementation is simply sourcing out from Samsung Display. In fact Samsung is encouraging the competition to buy their displays.

    • @AlexanderNevermind888
      @AlexanderNevermind888 Год назад

      @@CrossCuntyRicTHIS. Samsung is actually leading in innovations for ALL phones. Oneplus is who will be playing catch-up. Especially with the small screen being a plus for one handed use. OnePlus needs to implement some form of workable S-pen while also adding wireless charging, which in 2023 almost seems like a failure. In addition, if you're going to expect a foldable phone to be used for work, it needs to have something like a DEX mode, which is already a Samsung innovation. There is far too much missing from the OnePlus Open to even dream about passing the crown over to them for a person that uses their phone to get real work done. In fact I spent two days on the job using a OnePlus Open, and by the end of day 2 I knew that there no way I could continue without the same productivity I had become accustomed to with my Z Fold 5.

    I have it and I Love it. I've had a OnePlus since the 8p Pro McLaren edition. They somehow manage to be at the top end of specs, often even raising the bar, but are Cheaper than their competitors. I won't be changing brands unless they really screw things up. I've been wanting a fold since I saw a prototype at CES, but Samsung screwed their first one up so bad, so I was Thrilled that OnePlus came out with one, and it doesn't suck, it's awesome. The settings do have options for using a pen. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like they are making allowances for some sort of compatibility. To answer your question, I think that in typical OnePlus fashion of just doing things Right, the other brands should take note.

      I've had the Z Fold 4 and the Pixel Fold. For me the Pixel Fold was significantly better when using the outside display. The Z Fold is too thin and too tall, making it almost useless for me personally and I was always using the inside screen. The inverse is true on the Pixel Fold because I use the outside screen almost exclusively because the aspect ratio and size are perfect.
      Not saying one is better than the other for everyone, but for me personally, I sold the Z Fold as soon as I got the Pixel Fold.

    One thing I think all foldables need to copy from Samsung is the different Outside and inside display layouts. It's why I can't get too excited about the Pixel Fold or any other Fold because all they do is take 2 pages on the home screen and turn that into 1 screen for the inside display. Where the Z Fold makes the outside home screen and inside home screen completely different as if each one is it's own phone. I love that. So honestly until the other foldables do that, I probably won't ever touch any of them except the Z Fold...and even then, I've had the 3 and 4 and can't stand the narrow outside display.

    If the samsung fold was as narrow as the honor fold then i would want them to copy the OP Open design but for now bc of the thickness i prefer the narrower display. However samsung needs to 100% steal the multitasking features asap. And also PUT FLAGSHIP cameras on the fold. Right now OP is the fold to beat (in america) but that honor fold 2 is wiping the floor with everybody

    I trade my fold 4 for this phone and I'm getting it next week and I only spent 258 😅😅 and I got a 1250 for trading for this phone. Best buy Amazon whatever place you do your trading. You only will get at least $1,000 if it was a brand new device. So for my phone it should be 800 and I'm getting more than that and I'm getting a good phone for a very low price for this good phone. Hopefully it's good

    Love your video! The unbias analysis made me a fan! What urks my soul about some bloggers and media about this phone compared to the Z fold...umm...WE DO REMEMBER THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE OUTSIDE SCREEN ISN'T TO GIVE YOU A BIG SCREEN. IT DOES WHAT IT'S SUPPOSE TO AND WHEN YOU REALLY NEED TO MULTI-TASK AND ALL THAT JAZZ, YOU OPEN TO THE BIGGER SCREEN 🤦🤦‍♀️Who will buy a folding phone that they don't need to open? 🤔🤔🤔

    I like the video, but I don't agree with your main 4 points you mentioned. Before I explain why, I should mention that I am a Z Fold user (3, 4 and now 5), and I have no second phone and therefore I use the Z Fold heavily all day long privately and for business. You look at the aspect ratio from a phone perspective and believe, the cover screen aspect ratio is important. But you completely miss the point that it is a tablet that can be folded. This means the aspect ratio of the main screen, the inner screen, is important. The Z Fold's aspect ratio of the main screen is close to that of a tablet. That of OnePlus Open is just squarrish. If you were a foldable user, you would run crazy with that strange aspect ratio of the main screen. I don't mind opening my Fold. I bought it was intended to be which is a tablet.
    Regarding durability: 1000000 folds of the hinge does not mean that the screen would survive it, too. And do not forget the 400000 claim of Razr+ which was met by Flip 5 but not by Razr+ itself.
    Regarding camera performance: a very bold claim from you that other foldables would not deliver. The Fold 5 has one of the best camera performances among all smartphones. You just check the hardware, but your own video tests showed the problems of OnePlus Open which I don't have on Fold 5.
    Regarding the price: almost every Pro Max user pays more for the phone than any Fold5 user in reality. The official price is irrelevant.

    It baffles me how such a useful feature like wireless charging was left out when it is dirt cheap to implement. The lack of wireless charging, sub par camera, and fact that this is OP's first foldable make this one not a recommended buy. But this is definitely the best 1st gen foldable we've seen by any company so far

I'm personally a OnePlus fan but this is not the phone for me I need wireless charging and that camera on the OnePlus open looks ugly camera display. I really thought this one if them would have been my new phone from the OnePlus 6t version yes I have hold it out way too damn long and they didn't deliver both of those phone companies.

    The bargaining deal to trade in your phone to get $200.00 off is fantastic. This trading offer can assist in saving the ecosystem and minimising on unnecessary wastage (I hate senseless wastage). 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾 One fabulous advantage is to have the ability to access every essential tools or features without exiting the current open app. And this feature should be enable by default for every apps enabling you to remain using an app without exiting it.
