What I love about the changes SWE is doing, is that by the time we get to Stain they wouldn't even need to change him, because every single character except Deku has already proven his point, unlike the source material where he just ends up coming across as a yapping fanboy desperate for the attention of his favorite idol.
I dunno, Stain's point made sense when you considered the all the stuff that happened. There was the heroes hesitating about saving Bakugo because they weren't sure if their powers were good enough match-ups. The entire family dynamic of the Todorokis. People retiring as heroes despite the world being on the precipice of destruction because it wasn't worth being popular for. Nagant being used as a hitman for both villains and corrupt heroes. Heteromorph discrimination. The government and society at large's inability to adquately see to the needs of people with ostracizing quirks (Himiko, Eri, Tenko, etc), in turn ostracizing them. All of which point to the problem Stain was critical of, that being the complacency of Heroes and their roles in society. Now, does that mean he was actually effective at tackling that issue? Not at all. But the fact that he tried to begin with was what shined a light on that issue, and what got many of the villains to become inspired his actions (like Himiko or Spinner) to begin with.
It's funny because it is later revealed that Hero society was the sort of cesspit that Stain laments against. But that was during Lady Nagant's time and she was putting bullets into entire teams worth of pretend heroes or heroes that were connected to gangs and shit and thus pretended rivalries and whatever. But we never see anything like that happening by the time the series actually rolls around. So Stain is just randomly ranting and raving, killing actual heroes.
@@zygimantassilobritas6034 The problem was that Stain basically worshipped Heroes as god-figures that needed to be larger than life. He had good points but all the points he made were kinda made useless when his standard of hero was All-Might, and that basically translated his motives into "everyone not like All-Might deserves to die".
To be fair, I also think Stain had some valid points in regards to his views, my main issue comes from the author's inability to show us this supposed corruption and falsehood in an organic way. Up until Stain's introduction, the worse we saw was Mt. Lady deceiving some dude for a free lunch. What we do see is heroes genuinely helping people and wanting to make a difference, so when he cripples someone who fits his "ideal hero" but not really because he comes from an elite family, he just looks like a massive hypocrite.

5:08, The contrast of Deku's infatuation and stalker-like obsession, 15:24, with Bakugo's rage-fueled insecurity and entitlement is hilariously done. 21:10, Even funnier that this Deku is willing to call Bakugo out on it instead of trying to be nice even while they're fighting. 22:43, and pointing out the obvious of wanting to be responsible enough with his powers to not accidentally kill someone.

On the spoken stuff, I think you’re right, but I’m not sure about the last clause? Everything from “Hampton Wick” onwards (which I want to say means one of two crude terms for a phallus, but I can’t be certain) is stuff I might have to contact an actual cockney to check. The stuff from the board is 100% correct. Well done!
"boys loving boys, sure love to see it" I am someone who has seen the depths of the shipping wars in this show for years, could not stop laughing from the canon-stalking behavior of deku to the "bromance" of our best red-boi, this is just amazing satire
God I'm just imagining Season 3 when Bakugo is recruited to the LOV, Shigaraki is just like "Your smell is villainous, it's clear you don't bathe, like a true villain. Join us, Katsuki Bakugo."
9:20-9:24 Of all the triple B options there were in that Bakugo slot machine, I think my favorite combinations have to be the following Baby Brutalizer Bakugo Bitch Booty Bakugo Backstreet Boy Bakugo Balsamic Bussy Bakugo And finally Bagpipe Brandishing Boris That's just fantastic.
The incredible detail we get in these is probably why we only get like one episode a year. But God if the quality isn't worth it! Absolutely fantastic.
I started wondering this like 12 hours after watching this lol. Honestly, 100% worth it to edit the worst character out of the show. The pervert gag character with basically zero redeeming qualities, including the quirk. If removing Mineta makes editing these episodes take a few months extra, I'd still call it worth it.
@@MigranBTW Like... If it weren't for him being a horrible person he could've legitimately been the underdog cowardly brainy trope people often like to watch. Too bad about that being a wretched shit-stain thing.
It’s kinda sad to me to be honest since it means the original was too busy or famous to do the role while they got lk who’s work on abridged series has cost him paid roles
Theory: Bakugo developed an ear infection after falling in the river, which is the true cause of his partial deafness, rather than overuse of his quirk. Loss of hearing would explain why he shouts as often as he does. Accordingly, he blames Deku either because he thinks that he pushed him in, because his weight shifted the log making him lose his balance, or simply because Deku didn't immediately jump in the water to rescue him. This is probably entirely unfounded.
My favourite part is that Bakugo’s delusions are just straight up canon? Though I would have expected a callback to the perception that Deku is a pervert when the roofie line came up

Peak performance as usual! I love the direction they’re taking all the characters. Kaminari being the meme lord and supporting All Might with all his outdated lingo is awesome 😂
Incoming twist : All Might is so bad at keeping secrets that Mr. Nighteye trained and conditioned him to never call anyone who's directly linked to a secret by their right name.
He clearly isn't bothering to learn anybody's name, seeing as he refers to everyone by nicknames: Space Girl, Hockey Boy, Blondie, Pigpen/Moist Melvin. The fact that he's giving Izuku _actual_ names most of the time- Ezekiel, Methusula- is proof of how much he cares about him. Personally, I think it's just a mix of him being old (he _is_ pushing 60) and brain damage from Gran Torino kicking him in the head all the time when he was younger.

I admit, I wasn't feelin this series at first but this episode hit it out of the park. The characterization for Deku and Triple B was great and the addition of hallucinations solid. Having All Might focused solely on the possibility that Deku would come from behind to the detriment of all else really hit the vibe too. Looking forward to episode 5
The first episode was definitely rough; I think they were still finding their footing parodying MHA because the original show already had a good sense of humor about itself. They have gotten better and better with each episode though.

As a French watcher the French part was both very painful and incomprehensible...10/10 Also really love your way of changing the narrative by changing the character. Great work
Man, I never realized how many themes were kind of just sort of left on the cutting room floor by the original work. The biggest one to me being the idea that heroes are just celebrities for fame instead of proper servants to the community. It was certainly a theme that was touched on by the original, but it often took a backseat to more traditional shonen tropes like the many training and tournament arcs. Here it really feels like it's being brought to the forefront with characters like Ochaco and Iida exemplifying it.

An American's attempt at translating the Cockney Rhyming Slang in English-English class:
“Which of these sets of words will get you in the least amount of trouble when you need a new pair of shoes for your feet but the salesman’s being a real pig and charging a lot instead of a little?”
From the board, “Mickey bliss” is “piss,” “trouble and strife” is “wife,” “bees and honey” is “money,” and “Duke of Kent” is “rent.”
Well done!
Pretty spot on, actually.
@@TheKasimkageAh! I heard “Hampton wig” instead of “Hampton Wick.” Definitely a phallus reference then.
So they were probably in a ‘Hero PR’ class or something
*golf clap* Bravo
"boys loving boys, sure love to see it" I am someone who has seen the depths of the shipping wars in this show for years, could not stop laughing from the canon-stalking behavior of deku to the "bromance" of our best red-boi, this is just amazing satire
God I'm just imagining Season 3 when Bakugo is recruited to the LOV, Shigaraki is just like "Your smell is villainous, it's clear you don't bathe, like a true villain. Join us, Katsuki Bakugo."
9:20-9:24 Of all the triple B options there were in that Bakugo slot machine, I think my favorite combinations have to be the following
Baby Brutalizer Bakugo
Bitch Booty Bakugo
Backstreet Boy Bakugo
Balsamic Bussy Bakugo
And finally Bagpipe Brandishing Boris
That's just fantastic.
he would make the WORST backstreet boy 😆
Surprisingly, “Bitch” and “Boi” we’re both there, so there was a slim chance he actually randomly got it right
Big-headed B.P.D. Bakugo.
The incredible detail we get in these is probably why we only get like one episode a year. But God if the quality isn't worth it! Absolutely fantastic.
Wait, there is actually a non-Bakugo option in the last slot ?
I just noticed Mineta is not there. One can only assume he's still bouncing
Inb4 he comes back as an omniscient time lord with a completely reworked personality just trying to fix problems everyone causes
I was hoping this was were last episode's gag was going!!
@@MigranBTW Like... If it weren't for him being a horrible person he could've legitimately been the underdog cowardly brainy trope people often like to watch. Too bad about that being a wretched shit-stain thing.
When I rewatched it, I noticed he has been edited out of the classroom scenes. Yay!
CDawg as Present Mic was sadly short lived, but Abridged Frieza is a perfect substitute
PLOT TWIST: Present Mic has Yami-Yugi syndrome. CDawgVA is the tired, done with everything persona while LittleKuriboh is the cockney teacher persona.
@@supernerd8067i always knew present mic was a pharaoh

It’s kinda sad to me to be honest since it means the original was too busy or famous to do the role while they got lk who’s work on abridged series has cost him paid roles
Shit, didn't know CDawgVA/Connor voiced him initially! I love both of them, so be it Connor or Martin (LittleKuriboh), I'm happy.
I also love how they added high heel sound effects every single time uraraka shifts a little bit or moves her legs 😂
"I'M LAIDEN WITH JUICE, DEKU."
"OH NO!"
OH THANK GOD. Phew. I missed the stream but I’m so happy we’re getting this on RUclips. It’s been forever since a great abridged video came out.
Project mouthwash is doing a great fate stay night abridge that just dropped a new episode too
Ooo I’ll check it out
Lol I was in the same situation but I was so desperate I joined the patreon for the month
Sonic X Abridged is really good too.
And I now have to see this one
Theory:
Bakugo developed an ear infection after falling in the river, which is the true cause of his partial deafness, rather than overuse of his quirk.
While I like it, that all is far too rational of a thought process for Bakugo
@slashb7836 I wouldn't put it past him. Spite is the last human emotion to die.
Bakugo: "That's just my natural musk. Musk. Mmmmmmusk....."
Stop saying musk!

19:44 easily the funniest bit in the entire episode 🤣 "No I didn't make love to his BEAUTIFUL mother" 😂
Love how that implies that deku would make love to her if he could
He's so respectful
"So you survived my Bombkai" is such a great Bakugo line
Bankai. It's furthering the anime references of the bit. In this case, Bleach.
I love how the steak from lunch rush is just a regular picture
Definitely a nod to Dragon's Dogma 2 I've decided
17:06 This entire sequence of Bakugo getting high on his own musk and hallucinating is sending me
My favourite part is that Bakugo’s delusions are just straight up canon? Though I would have expected a callback to the perception that Deku is a pervert when the roofie line came up
To be fair, a good callback to that is when he had the delusion that Deku was bragging about fucking his mom and his dad.
First of all, I would like to point out that I loved this version of Kaminari.
And Kirito seems to be cursed to find crazy women in his life, come on. "At least I pretend to be nice to people" by Asuna fits perfectly here too!
My favorite quote has to be the following:
"YOUR DAD'S A BAD LAY, KAAACHAAAN! YOU CARE ABOUT THIS!"
I really love the implication that bakugo really does care and it's getting to him
“It seems you survived my bankai, you’ll never posses the One Piece, only a true Uchiha can wield its power, yo ho ho he took a bit a sharingan.”
KAAAAAAAAA-CHAAAAAAAN
1:05 this guy either:

Peak performance as usual! I love the direction they’re taking all the characters. Kaminari being the meme lord and supporting All Might with all his outdated lingo is awesome 😂
Izuku being like "no you don't" to all might being terrible at remembering his name is just the funniest shit to me.
Pissing off Bakugo, almost stopping the USJ and Training camp, really getting into his villain persona, badly timed radio coms, and thoroughly mocking the very concept of the French! Ida's just the best, abridged or not
21:50 I'm sorry did All Might just call Deku "Midichlorian?" I could barely make that out XD
Yep, he did.

All Might
Damnit, got me to sing it...
Bakugo is absolutely the funniest part of this series so far, he's killing me

"The mean streets of... Montreal!" god damnit SWE never change.
Edit - Also I love that they just have Buffy playing in the background the entire time.
As a French watcher the French part was both very painful and incomprehensible...10/10
Also really love your way of changing the narrative by changing the character. Great work
God damn, Deku's breaking point was amazing. The shy bean carries some steel balls, and I love it.
“No I didn’t make love to his beautiful mother!”
Guys this series is not going to wrap without Deku tapping Bakugo’s Mom.
"I'm laden with juice, Deku" is one of the greatest lines of any abridged
Man, I never realized how many themes were kind of just sort of left on the cutting room floor by the original work. The biggest one to me being the idea that heroes are just celebrities for fame instead of proper servants to the community. It was certainly a theme that was touched on by the original, but it often took a backseat to more traditional shonen tropes like the many training and tournament arcs. Here it really feels like it's being brought to the forefront with characters like Ochaco and Iida exemplifying it.
