I need one of these! Like yourself, I’ve been into Raleigh’s and kingpins for a while, then I discovered mini velos this morning while on a FB page from the Philippines where they seem to be pretty popular. Great video by the way. I’ll go find part 2
Top tip: If you ever see anyone throwing out a garden trampoline grab a couple of the leg poles. They fit over the handle of an adjustable wrench and make for a great lever to remove any freewheel. Save you tons of cable ties too. 👍Keith@Seaside Cycles
I have a mini velo bike here in Portugal and I'm always looking for more European content about them. I appreciated your video and subscribed! Looking forward for the rest of the build!
I also bought this same bike off facebook in almost new condition I got mine for £130. The stock 27.2 400mm seatpost was far to short for me so after searching I found a 600mm seatpost which provides a better height. Only problem is despite definitely being the correct size everytime I try using it it keeps getting stuck in the seat tube and it takes all my strength to pull it back out. The company I bought the seatpost from suggested applying some grease but I already tried a different type of lubricant which didn't help and since I've barely used it since I got it I'm thinking about cutting my loses and just selling it on. Watching part 2 and 3 of this project makes me wish I had the technical know how to fix the various other problems with the bike to get to a point where I'd want to use it more regularly but I'd likely just be sinking unnecessary money into it without much to show for it in the end. It's a shame because ever since I came across the Mini Velo style of bike I've wanted one. I've got a 16" folding electric bike which I use most days and despite encountering a fair few issues with it since I bought it I can still say it's been worth having if only for providing me with some independence since I don't drive and motivation to get out the house. The bike I'd really like it they were still available is the Raleigh Lorry.
I'm thinking about making a mini folding velo for commuting to work. I've got to agree that trying to find a good bike frame that I like is really hard! I saw a Dahon Mu 2009 model, but the person wouldn't come down from £400. I really like you videos so you've got a new subscriber! I'm looking forward to your videos.
@@2NDLIFEBIKES I had never heard of it until I saw it on local marketplace. It was so weird looking I had to have it paid $20 for it. Couldn't pass it up!
That zip tie monstrosity 🤣 get yourself a bit of old scaffolding pole you can slip over the end of most things, even extend your breaker bar if you need to. You can also hammer/crush the end if it won't fit over your adjustable wrench handle.
awesome project!! btw it's pronounced "puCH" like in "mclauGHlin" or "loCH ness"... and the "U" sounds like "oo". poogh. simples. if that makes sense lol whatever.
That saddle.... DAMN!

That’s a great shout!! Felt bad about the zip ties. I’m just not patient enough to find a better option in the moment hahaha! 🤦🏻
what do you do with the rest of the trampoline?
Got one! Brand new off FB still in the box for £80 😮 Fun bike too! Totally wouldn’t have got it if it wasn’t for this video series 😊😊

I have been looking for more European content myself. I definitely think mini Velo is underrated and I’m hoping I can show some love on my channel! 🙌🏼

“If you can’t fix it with zip ties you’re probably not using enough zip ties” love it 🤣🤣😎😎

Dear Craig...do you know the model of these green PUCHs presented on your video. Cheers!
I loveeeeeee mini velos but don’t know if I’ll snag because I’m quite tall.. but also.. maybe I will 😂🙏🏻🙏🏻

How about a full size road bike frame, but with bmx 20” wheels… and a coaster brake…. TO THE SHED!
You make me want 10 bikes I don't need in London. Do you ever sell any of these beasts?

Yeah, sorry!! 😂
I have them lights they are rechargeable 👍
I’ve tried but nothing. The guy said it’s been out side for months during winter so the battery’s might shot.

As far as I know „puch“ is a austrian brand / company. Their 70th roadbikes are somehow famous in bike collector scene.
Hahah yeah I dose. I’m terrible and pronunciation!! 🤣🤣
Straight to eBay to find a mini-velo…….
Soooorrrrrryyyyyyyyy!!!! 🤣
@@2NDLIFEBIKES I mean, what ended up happening is it turned into a search for a BMX and a Dirt Jumper somehow, neither of which I need.
Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh. Been there!! 😂
