Here is our official review of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, there was a lot of hype surrounding this game and rightly so. It promised what looked to be like the most expansive and immersive experience so far in the franchise. So how did it hold up compared to the hype?

My only real problem with the game is the technological performance. The switch is perfectly capable of running games like this as they have done in the past with Zelda Breath of the wild, Tears of the Kingdom and others. So I think it's safe to say that was just poor optimization on Gamefreak's part. People talk about the game having poor level scaling due to its open ended nature. But I didn't really have that problem. The modern EXP share in combination with the sheer amount of Pokemon to catch really opens up the possibility to train dozens of pokemon and this was the first time I've trained an entire box's worth of pokemon in between both the main and post game. The downside to this is I don't get as attached to them as I used to in older games, however.
