    This is a deluxe extended family with more than enough love for everyone as the passionate red-headed little sister Isabela and her stalwart big sister Tosha show. It is remarkable in retrospect to see what two loving mothers can create.

    As an adoptee, this broke me. I watch very few adoption videos as, thus far, I have had no real wish to find my birth parents. Please understand that, if you're not adopted, it is hard to understand why I would say that
    I had a perfect adoptive family, a fabulous education and until recently, a good marriage.
    But watching this, I started to think of what I was missing. Thank you so much for this series, I have not had such a good cleansing cry in a very long time.

      Sadly not all reunions are as beautiful as this.
      I'm a 61 yearold adoptee and recently connected with my birth mother and although she was delighted to hear I was alive and well and had had a brilliant childhood with loving parents, I am still a shameful secret and she is terrified my 6 half siblings will find out about me and judge her for having had a baby before she met their father. How does she think that makes me feel, like I'm something she's ashamed of?
      My birth father is deceased as is his wife. He also had 6 children.
      I contacted my sister recently and she was shocked as she had no idea I existed. She told 2 of my brothers about me but a month later had still not told the two youngest about me. The eldest brother is deceased. She was quite unfriendly to me and barely answered any of my questions. So I contacted the youngest brother and he got back to me immediately being delighted to hear he has another sister and we chatted for 3.5 hours.
      Unfortunately I found out through an uncle that I DNA matched with that the two youngest brothers are not my half siblings as they have different father's but the awful thing is they both think my birth father is their father and I cannot be the one to tell them otherwise and ruin their memories of him.
      My sister doesn't know that I know this 'secret' and I don't want to tell her I know or her uncle will get in trouble for telling me. She has still not bothered to contact me and has not asked me a single question about myself whereas the brother who is not related to me was absolutely lovely and wants to meet me. It's all quite complicated unlike this story where everyone accepted each other and was delighted to meet each other.

    This was so beautiful to watch. You look exactly like your birth mom. U didn’t even need a DNA test to see that! the resemblance is incredible. Your story really hit home for me. My mom was adopted in 1954. she was able to reconnect with her birth family after 60 years except Her story didn’t go as planned and wasn’t a happy ending. Both of her birth parents had passed by the time she found her family, but she had 3 siblings still alive. 1 older sister and 2 older brothers, as my mom was her birth mothers last child. She had an affair with a neighbor which resulted in a pregnancy to which she had no choice but to hand her over to an orphanage and had her on an adoption hold in the hope to one day run off with the neighbor and take her back. After 5 years the nuns at the orphanage urged her to make a decision and ether take her back right there and then or sign over her rights so that my mom could finally get adopted. Obviously she chose giving up her rights and making my mom a distant memory never to be talked about or discovered, for the rest of her birth moms life. She wanted this secret to go to the grave with her. After my mom found her siblings, It shortly came out that her half sister knew of my mom and kept this huge family secret from her other 2 siblings for 6 decades. When my mom found them, her sister got a lot of backlash from that side of the family. And after they all met, and fell in love with their baby sister after 60 years, her sister became extremely jealous and plotted against my mom to get rid of her so that their family could go back to normal. And it worked. They all immediately abandoned her once again for the 2nd time in her life. It was so devastating for my mom and it took her a long time to heal but she’s doing much better now. I’m so glad u were able to find ur birth family and create a relationship with all of them. Bc sometimes adoptees aren’t so lucky. Thank u so much for sharing ur journey with the world ❤️

    This must be so strange for the adoptive parents. I'd feel like I just borrowed my daughter for a while and now she is going back to where she belongs. I don't know how I would handle a situation like that.
    Is she going to meet her bio dad too 👀?

    • @tammihunter5913
      @tammihunter5913 7 месяцев назад

      @jmk1962 I can relate to this. I'm 57. In my 30s, I had one phone call with my birthmother. It seemed to go well and I sent off a large pkg of photos to her and awaited hers. 2 months later, I received a tiny photo and a letter stating she "found it difficult going from shame to acceptance". We never spoke again. I have a half brother by her. He is 3 yrs younger. I feel I've kept her "secret" long enough and it should be his choice whether he wants to know me or not. My birthfather and his family were very accepting from the start, which was surprising since he was a biker. 😂 I recently did Ancestry dna and discovered I have a half sister by him! I always wanted a sister and though she lives far away, we text almost daily and have had a couple of phone conversations. First one was 7 hours long!! 😅
