    Liking the shelter mate....but those rolling hills are summit else. Love the Howgills. Very distinct landscape.

      ayy im liking the ts mate i think im gonna enjoy using it the more i use it...howgills are great nice & quiet & offer some fantastic scenery..we'll have to get thi up there..

    That tarp is an awesome bit of kit. Wouldn't have believed the weather was like that. Tarp wasn't moving in the wind.

    You've said it many times before and since about this area Andy but I really think the Howgills are a little not well known gem. Those views during a late summer evening look to die for right now!

    Nice one Andy thanks for the reccy. Glad you said about that spring. Chris J B knows loads about geology, plants and birds. You’ll need a Lanky to Yorkshire phrase book to communicate though😂

    Spot on Andy, some great colour in the sky with that sunset 👌, lovin the set up, looks like there’s acres of room and some good head height in the trailstar, and the colour is great 👍, nice one mate, atb Mick 👍

    Mate absolutely fantastic that and what a night to spend on the hills. Perfectly captured and the drone footage really shows them off and makes me realise I need to get up them. Loving the tarp mind. Cheers for sharing ATB Steve

    Firstly, thanks for the mentions mate 🙂. Yep, Mallerstang is a good call. Top-notch trip that Andy. I know exactly what you mean planning for water. It can make a great difference to your pack weight if you don't have to go far for it. I just wish all springs marked on the maps were like Bull Stones Spring in the Peak District👌. When the weather plays ball I quite like a good loll about in the hills waiting for a sensible time to camp. The new shelter looks mint too. 👌. Will catch up soon re Mallerstang. ATB, Chris

    You might’ve got more water out of the first spring earlier in the year, but it turns a bit scarcer height to end of summer, it’s the same here in Grampian this time o’ year. 👍🏻

    We did Calders the Calf, Randy gill and Yarlside last week, climbing Randy gill top via Bowderdale...steepest ground i have ever walked.

      thanks paul yeah its a fantastic area & im loving getting up there..you can do a trip & camp up there & not see another soul which i like..me and chris will be getting that camp sorted for sure..we did have a trip out last year but neither of us filmed it..

    Good video Andy, interesting water job. Ive oft looked at the Howgills and thought that it'll dry out fairly quick in good weather. Bet theyre soaked over Winter n all. Superb hills, lovely grassy jobs, looked lovely from the drone. TS looks good n all. TFS David 👍

    Love it up there Andy. 1 st time last Friday I followed you route up cautery spout from cross keys pub. Taking in 4 trig points to the calf Reward views next day with a fantastic cloud inversion. Very piecefull camp never saw a sole. This one looks a good n as 👍🏻

    Randy Gill (or 'gyhll') is quite likely 'Randolph Ravine' in old Norse, from Viking settlement in the 7th & 8th centuries.

      there was a bit of condensation but you're gonna get it in anything tbh..too many look for that tent that wont get condensation but it doesnt exist..you get condenastion under a tarp in the right conditions.

      @AndrewBeavers good luck. Remember the boss (CT 😆) never uses an inner (I guess that slightly depends on weather if very much snow falling 😀) I think he levitates it away 😀 as I've never known him to use an inner in this unless midge season 😀 I got a bit nibbled the other day 😀

    Good to see you out in your TS, hope you have many a decent trip in it. I’m a big fan of them and love mine. It’s been great, I’ve had it out in Nov, Dec and Jan since getting mine last year.       thanks william ayy loving the ts..yeah id looked at the map & spotted the quad bike trail marked on map heading to wall so followed that down instead of following ridge line off & walking further than i needed to do..

      i dont get condensation in the alpkit kloke..its a highly breathable material been using it for a few year now & never had any bother with it.
