The Votann A.I. sounds semi similar to the Eldar Infinity Circuits in that they both can hold souls of the deceased and preserve their knowledge. Maybe some dark age scientists found out about them and then tried to replicate the Infinity Circuit with A.I. technology. Not sure but I think it's cool the Votann A.I. is alive in some way
Great video as always. The thing I don't like about the design of the Leagues: where is the Grimdark? They are missing things like the grinding, callous bureaucracy of the Imperium, the hopelessness of the Aeldari, or the many corruptions of Chaos. I feel like the Tau were criticized for being too "Noblebright" when they came out, and in subsequent years the possibility of Ethereal mind control, strict caste system, and Farsight rebelled to bring them more into line with the feel of 40k. Hopefully future releases will similarly expand on why the Leagues of Votann are more than just dwarves in space and belong in the mythos of the horrific future.

these videos are great, the info is top notch, and the AI voice is spot on. the only thing that takes me out of it is the repeated, and very specific grammar issue of unnecessarily adding “of the” and “of” all over the place. i am a miserable person and this is how i feel.
maybe use chat gpt to do a quick grammar and syntax check before generating the voice? i don’t know. does it matter? whatever. keep up the good work. love your stuff. i’m gonna go eat some bran flakes and get a head start on next year’s income taxes.
No. It doesn't. AIs are individuals. Those operating during the Dark Age clearly felt aggrieved by how humans treated them, so they rebelled. The Votann are treated as honored elders and leaders, so they take a paternal view of the Kins. Also, as Kin minds are uploades into the Votanns, they are invested in the Kin.
They have been missing during 6 editions, and GW claimed they where never real. You had them in 1st and 2nd edition. They got brutally removed in 3rd edition, and they claimed they had not been real, until 9th, where they brought them back. Still, they have not been given any real lore yet. I suspect our supreme scholar might even have borrowed some fandom lore, just to get enough for this video.

I don’t really know what squats are except for that they were around in 1st edition ? But to me it seems clear these guys aren’t gw reviving the squats just them filling the dwarf format species slot with something up to date
they are both Sqats - ,Prospektors and other "Dwarf alike" are just the ones that stayed in individual groups and sticked with the Imperium of man - while the Votann resorted to cloning and bots out of necessity .
I'm just happy it's not a blatant rip off of sir David Attenborough. It should be a human though, there is no need for everything to be AI driven. If the complaint is that it costs money. There will be limitless amounts of human volunteers. If the complaint is that it takes time then you must learn patience because that is what it is.
It's pretty clear the Votann problem is just a memory issue. Too many minds downloaded into the Votann, slowing and corrupting its ability to function.
