"Last time I was this early..." I actually played this deck before my playgroup got totally sick of my solitaire degeneracy. Dear lord Mitch did it again. The deck that shall not be named.
Jhoria is always the deck that introduces the player to CEDH. After playing this deck for some time, players will try to make their storm efficent by using cheap mana rocks which costs a lot like mana crypt, mana vault and etc. Then the arms race continue and you add reserve list cards like mox diamond, lion's eye diamond and etc. Finally you need to protect jhoria with your free counterspells....
2:32 first up, there's...Sol Ring, because it's cheaper than I am right now :( then some other stuff that doesn't matter happens, until 14:00, when first up there's...me! Get that Renegade Map out of here. My current lowest TCGPlayer market price is $3.05 for my Fifth Dawn printing. Please reprint me until I'm a budget card again.
My favorite wincon for my version of Jhoira artifact storm is Reckless Fireweaver. He pings each opponent for 1 damage whenever an artifact ETBs, NOT casts. That means all the myr tokens you generate off of Saheeli triggers also ping for damage. Plus, this deck was purpose built for him to live his best, most reckless life. Firebrand Archer is a close runner-up. While she also pings each opponent for 1 damage, she only triggers on "casting noncreature spells", and she is a 2/1 body instead of a 1/3. Both together are beautiful to behold, though!
Came here because I know this is a revisit to one of your favorite decks, I got Jhoira from double masters so I'm looking forward to trying this deck out
I used your old video to make a jhoira list while adding some cards from newer sets. With 2 reducers in play, the deck goes off and the scrys/extra draws really help. Thanks for an update! Keep working hard.
I was looking for a new deck when I saw your earlier Jhoira build. Absolutely love it. My play group not so much so I only bring it out for tournaments lol
Hay if u add which’s oven you can have a infinite combo with clock of omens metalwork colossus and which’s oven First sack the metalwork to the oven and you get 2 food tokens Next use the clock to tap the food to untap the oven then sack the food to put the metalwork back to your hand rinse and repeat
Just warning you Ive had this deck since Mitch's first video on it... and its honestly closer to a cEDH deck. Just be prepared for your playgroup to hate you.
I also have had this one since the first video and I only play this deck for one game when everyone plays there strongest deck. Its so consistent at winning turn 4 if you don't get Jhoira countered or removed.
My deck went the way of creating lots of flying 1/1 thopter tokens and it also is a mostly creature deck. I am still tinkering with it. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/13-03-18-ur-thopters/
The legend is reborn! I'd love to see the break the bank on her lol. Thank you Mitch, the original was the best deck I've ever seen you build and this one is right there with it. I even went so far as to build an amazing jhoira deck just like this, but not as budget (I have urza, Lord high artificer in the 99 lol, but no 20$ plus rocks lol). I was a bit surprised not to see a few 0 cost artifacts in your list
The Fool. Fallen victim to one of the classic blunders. One of which is famous, never use Armageddon to start a land war in Magic. Another which is only slightly lesser known, never build a Jhoria deck when artifacts are on the line...
I built mine based on your original with my own upgrades. Some important ones: Reliquary Tower - just in case you can't cast all those draws Inventor's Fair - bonus life and ability to get an artifact you need Mind's Eye - card draw from from your opponents Golem's Heart - extra life AND help with Aetherflux Reservoir Soul of New Phyrexia - protect your permanents if need be Colossus of Akros - just an extra POW to your opponents if need be And the final two are "great" (i.e. cheap?) win conditions (I discovered this could happen during playtesting so these two cards were added to prevent my own loss by being unable to draw more cards): Laboratory Maniac Jace, Wielder of Mysteries Both allow you win the game if you have no cards in your library and with the amount of draw this deck can do, they are handy to have.
Thank you. I played against a person who plays CEDH and none of my decks could stand a chance. Now with this deck tech I could stand a chance. Thanks again.
16 hours late to the party, but I've just finished watching the video and the cards I don't already have are already in the shopping cart. A great tech as always, Mitch.
With the amount of cards this deck could draw Ominous Seas would be an awesome budget option. Eight counters shouldn’t be hard and making 8/8s seems pretty good...
Loved your original jhoira build so much I made it myself and have been tweaking and upgrading ever since. Didn't know about semblance anvil 'til today though!
Very solid build, thanks for this! Got hosed by high tier decks a bit ago running my janky casual decks and desperately needed something to keep up with turn 3/4 wins, and this deck (with modification) certainly holds its own. 50$ to beat a 1000$ deck feels good.
Hey Mitch, So I've got this with a few other win cons for this deck, to mill our opponent out instead: Psychic Corrosion instead of Aetherflux Altar of the Brood instead of Phyrexian Metamorph Psychic Spiral Replacing Elixer If psychic corrosion gets countered and you get board wiped, then psychic spiral just hammers the person who wiped your board.
I'm waiting for a Sram, Senior Edificer equipment storm deck, he is very similar to Jhoira but most importantly I want to see Mitch do a mono white deck that draws too many cards for the memes.
I played this deck tonight for the first time. I had aetherflux in and teferis ageless insight. I played phyrexian metamorph and used it to copy aetherflux. Then proceeded to go off casting snd drawing non stop. The life gain quickly got out of control and i was able to easily tap that round and the next to kill 2 players.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I found possibility storm in my uncles collection and I think it would work as a decent enough substitute for teferri's ageless insight as you'd be casting 2 artifacts but only one is coming into play and the other just gets shuffled in. As long as you have your key pieces put already it would work wonders in defending your boardstate and getting you more cards
So maybe you should make this a thing..... Go through some of your older videos with really popular deck techs and do some updated builds for them. Don't know about everyone else but I'd be interested to see what you could do with new sets to work with and decks from a few years ago.......
This new version is definitely a little more play group friendly. My play group has a wide range of decks and your first version (slightly upgraded) is what I play when we are being a little more fast and hard core. We like that first one cause its a good standard of how our decks are. "Can it beat jhora? Maybe? Let's see." Thanks for the update and all you do.
Definitely enjoyed this deck. This was the 1st deck tack that my wife showed interest in to start playing commander. I would keep in psychosis crawler and add an alternative million win condition as well. Just a personal preference.
Hello fellow Jhoira enthusiast's... I do have a budget suggestion for the deck which no one seems to know about.. the card is called energy tap! currently it's 25 cents for the 4th edition one. It's one blue mana for a sorcery and you tap target creature you control to add an amount of colorless Mana to that cards casting cost. Target Jhoira and that's 4 more Mana to cast artifacts with. This card has helped me out soooo many times when I was about to fizzle out or just to make things speed up a bit. It's definitely my favorite card to play in the deck and I hope some of you out there consider it!Underrated for sure! 😅
Archive is good, but it’s 5 mana. I would still put it in, but not instead of Teferi’s ageless insight. Another suggestion if you expand is sensei’s divining top
@@csmcq1407 I agree. I have one in my Jhoira deck, but you should still include Teferi's ageless insight because that is super good as well. Another suggestion if you are looking into building Jhoira is "Altar of the Brood"
I know it’s a little over budget for this channel, but when I bought the ramp version of the original deck I kept running into the issue of not having enough counter spells. I have had the deck for around a year now and through that time I’ve slowly been making changes. Counter spells are by far the most important. There is no use in spending a lot of money on more powerful artifacts until you can make sure they will not be countered and Joirah will be able to stay on the field. If you pull this deck out at a table the odds of people targeting you are very high so you need to be able to defend. Edit: It is worth mentioning that I play with slightly more serious players who are not quite as casual as most playgroups.
So I go to to the decklist link and hit "sample hand" and there aren't any lands in it, so I click again and I have 5 islands, a mountain, and a sol ring. Classic magic.
I built your old version literally last weekend😂replacing the cards I couldn’t find with most of the cards you’ve placed in this one🤭have you been spying on your audience Mitch??😂 Keep up the amazing work Mitch👌🏻if I ever want to build a new EDH deck, I always check your channel for a build first👏🏻
My Jhoira deck was hyper neudered and only won via lab man. it snuck a win in at my local league tourney and i had 4 people including the card shop owner yelling at me lol. in the end i let them know it was their fault for not using removal on Jhoira and it took like 7 or 8 turns to go off but it was glorious how it won. it was hyper restricted to lab man win con. and it was budget as heck. didnt even have Saheeli.
I built this deck a long time ago when I first saw your video. I've been trading and getting cards for it for a while now. Definitely not budget anymore xD
I'm curious to see how a Tasigur budget deck would work today with all the strong sultai and graveyard synergy cards coming out. Definitely would love to see a revamped version of that!
I "recently" built myself a jhoira deck. Knowing nothing, I went for a token strategy. So I more aim to overwhelm with tokens than going infinite and then storm. I did however accidently put a 5 card infinite combo in that I noticed just the other day when it by accident happen. I personally abhor combo decks, but I'm letting this slide as it's 5 cards needed, I'm not looking for it, if it happens it happens. Anyways, if you have a player group that trats your Jhoira into a KoS, just remake it slightly into more of a token deck. That way it doesn't have that "all of a sudden win on one turn" that puts all theother players on edge. Althogh it CAN still do that.. but not in an equally sneaky way.
Have you considered Feedback Bolt for this deck? It can one-shot an opponent in a deck like this. It's 4 and a red for a sorcery that deals damage to target player or planeswalker equal to the number of artifacts you control.
@The Commander’s Quarters I have to ask, why not run bident of thassa and sia master thopterist? I run a slightly different build that prioritizes rocks, ramping and pinging on etb triggers early and aims to finish the game by drawing practically the entire deck and either using lab man or jaya’s immolating inferno to the face of all three opponents. It’s still a ton of fun and it isn’t one of the jhoira decks that makes everyone at the table instantly feel like they have to go after you
Another possibility within the budget is potentially replacing universal solvent with an unstable obelisk. Is there something I'm missing that caused you to choose universal solvent over the obelisk? Adding the obelisk is still within the $50 price.
quick $120 upgrade: jeweled lotus.

Mind's Eye - card draw from from your opponents
Golem's Heart - extra life AND help with Aetherflux Reservoir
Soul of New Phyrexia - protect your permanents if need be
Colossus of Akros - just an extra POW to your opponents if need be
And the final two are "great" (i.e. cheap?) win conditions (I discovered this could happen during playtesting so these two cards were added to prevent my own loss by being unable to draw more cards):
Laboratory Maniac
Jace, Wielder of Mysteries
Both allow you win the game if you have no cards in your library and with the amount of draw this deck can do, they are handy to have.

Another possibility within the budget is potentially replacing universal solvent with an unstable obelisk. Is there something I'm missing that caused you to choose universal solvent over the obelisk? Adding the obelisk is still within the $50 price.
