At 3:00 and 3:51, You mentioning how a lot of the instruments are synthetic and not real, plus the "video-gamey" nature of it, actually made me realize maybe it was intentional. Penacony, the new planet they're teasing, obviously seems modeled off some idea of Las Vegas- the flashy and opulent clothing, slot machines, and atmosphere all support this. However, Las Vegas is also a place notorious for its vice and sin. What the trailer really seems to be hinting at is the superficial front that Penacony is- it's a world that on the surface is one of glamour and cooperation (it's patron goddess is literally goddess of harmony), but underneath the fake cover it's tragedy and pain: Perhaps even a castle of sand built upon suffering or lies.
i really like the comment about the instruments being artifical- as this whole trailer is for a world/planet thats legit a dream (synthetic/fake) world. legit you had a lot of points that i wouldnt have noticed but were so story relevant.

In this MV they're promoting a new world in the game that's known as "the land of dreams" as in, literally, you enter a hotel, fall asleep and enter the same dream as everyone else and its kind of like, las vegas vibe. And the fact the music sounds like that its as if we're dreaming the music so the sounds are distorted.

There is something so romantic dream about this song. But also a sense of loneliness, as if wanting to stay in the dreaming to enjoy the marvels of fantasy as if dont want to wake up nor go to reality.
Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based RPG that takes place in the "Hoyoverse" (The Hoyoverse consists of Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact and Star Rail, Star Rail and Honkai Impact are ALMOST like seperate timelines because many of the characters you see in Star Rail are different versions of characters in Honkai Impact. The story is amazing and if you're open to trying new games this one definitely takes the cake together with Genshin. But... Ehm, GENSHIN COULD NEVER. (Those who know they know) Edit: Honkai: Star Rail has amazing music from boss themes to general music to music videos. But Genshin does has much much more of that and considering the music is made from the same company you can imagine how amazing it is. GO GET IT SON
HSR is a pretty new game, only on 2.0 and less than a year out, but it's going amazingly so far. turn-based combat and very well done story. since you've already checked out wildfire, the next big star rail song to check out is Samudrartha - absolute epic banger you should also check out some Honkai Impact 3rd music, they have a ton of incredible OSTs and even full songs, it's been around for a while so it has some absolute bangers. Personal favorites of mine include Dual Ego, Oaths, Oracle and Regression

Also you should try playing Star Rail but there's a bit of a commitment to it like farming for stuff to upgrade characters but it's fun! There is a story to it and the new world is coming out soon. (which is what the music video is about)

Hoyoverse (the company that made Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact) is well known for their absolutely AMAZING music, and they took it to a whole other level with Penacony (the new world that this song was a teaser for). They actually made a live action music video of this song! I'd recommend checking it out. And yeah, Star Rail is a very story-heavy game. What might surprise you though: we are not fighting the trashcan, WE are the trashcan! The MC we play as is pretty obsessed with trash cans, and Penacony is a literal dream world- as in, most of it takes place within a dreamscape. It's based on retro Disneyland, with the clock guy being the mascot a-la mickey mouse. As for other big Star Rail tracks, here you go: "Wildfire" (best experienced along with the gameplay and cutscenes, as the music is interwoven with the visuals in a unique way) "Samudrartha" hoyo also has a sort of music video on their star rail youtube channel, very excellent viewing, and also has translated english lyrics, since the song is in chinese the multiple Phantaylia the Undying songs, "Pedujara" (the lyrics, unlike the others, are not in english or chinese- it's done by traditional Dong choir, a small and dying ethnic group in southern china if I remember correctly, and is in their language. this song has brought their culture and singing to literally millions of people, and is majorly helping keep it from dying out) you're gonna wanna start with "Ephemeral Cycle", then "Even Immortality Ends" and finally "Demiseless Existence"- they're the three phases of the boss fight, sort of like separate songs but all connected. "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking" a song that is canonly sung by one of the in-game future playable characters Star Rail's music is INCREDIBLE! but these are the ones that are the biggest tracks, playing during important moments in the story that really make you love and appreciate them all the more. I hope you enjoy it, and would definitely recommend playing!

As a mihoyo game you can be assured the music in the game and pv videos are a bop. A lot of the character demo videos as usual for hoyo have great music to react to. There are over a dozen at 2 minutes or so each so it'd make a chunky vid.
The song is to promote this new planet that is basically a dream, where everything can be real, that's why u fight as a giant trashcan with arms( which is a dream come true lol) the clock sounds at the end like you wake up from the dream
I'd check out Myriad Celestia: Fables About the Stars. It's a longer trailer about Star Rail's Aeons (space gods) and the factions/paths that follow them. What's really cool is that the music in the background changes to reflect each deity with a gradual buildup that hits big time with the video's climax.
Please do 'If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking' I wont spoil the story incase others havent completed it but this song is part of a major story moment Edit: ye honkai has story, it has some great parts imo this new area is fantastic so far and most of the other areas are good/great
Yes Star Rail has LOTS of lore. I'm pretty critical of stories in games and in general, but Star Rail has some of the best writing Ive seen in any game as of late (especially with the current 2.2 quest).
I didn't even realize that : The song is ''fake'', it's a damn good lie, exactly like Penaconny, a illusion, a trap. The instrument, is like you said, synthetic, very video games like. I love when they do some stuff like that, playing with the music, they already did that in wildfire (chapter 2)
I'm not musically inclined or educated so hearing your insights on the instruments being very synthesised and clean (no reverb, unnatural but cool etc) really emphasises the point of the story in the game (idealised dream world)

I would like to say that the hoyo games are absolutely briming with story and lore. Like you can do hundreds of hours of going through lore and you wont be done. Can get extremely longn when you're trying to go through the lore of genshin, honkai, and star rail

HSR is a game you cant miss if you like story games, they haven't missed a single big patch on great story telling that leaves people hyped and bouncing to music too
(firstly, thanks for another great reaction. Hope you might see another track from HSR again.) I would recommend you 2 popular tracks Phantylia's boss theme A trailer for Kafka - 'Dramatic Irony' that include quite interesting music for a character trailer. Also my personal fav track, Argenti's boss theme - 'A Gentleman's Fantasy'. This is such a bop for his characterization, not sure how you will see it though.
It's not just _HSR_ , Mihoyo has an in-house music production department called 'Hoyo-Mix,' and I have never, ever heard them miss. They make not only their games feel different, but the different regions within them too. I would highly advise checking out the songs that are in _Honkai Impact 3rd_ 's PVs (promotional videos) and their animated shorts. They also made concerts for _HI3_ , _Genshin_ , and _HSR_ , although the most recent one for _HI3_ was definitely their most impressive so far.
If you're still interested in the Honkai: Star Rail stuff, then I'd recommend you check out the new album by the character Robin that just came out in the game. She's an idol and therefore debuted an album as she was released

I would love for you to see the 88 degrees bedrock remix. Its not really "fully official" however the non remix version does appear ingame from just an NPC however its definitely an amazing song be it remix or not.
Yes, it has story. They're also introducing a QOL that arranges the important quests to have a timeline so it's easier to understand the flow of things when this update drops.
So I love how using synth music styles to do the big band instruments adds to the dream theme of, well the entire update. It's false instruments, literally a replication, just like how the dream world is a facsimile of reality. It's like, this is based on a combination of 1900's American cultures, so you got that Jazz, while also being a K-pop song in styling. It's like, admitting it's fake while showing that "Hey, this is what you are signing up for."
Samudrartha, Monodrama, A Dramatic Irony and If I Can Stop a Heart From Breaking are all awesome ones I'd recommend personally. The soundtrack for this game goes crazy lol
Yup this song definitely has story underlying it. Just like that lyric "there's nothing left for me to do, other than going to the other side" could be mean that players have no main/side quest in the game anymore right now , and later need to go to next planet, penacony with new quests. In the game schematic diagram, the planets are shown side by side

Star Rail's music is INCREDIBLE! but these are the ones that are the biggest tracks, playing during important moments in the story that really make you love and appreciate them all the more. I hope you enjoy it, and would definitely recommend playing!

As a mihoyo game you can be assured the music in the game and pv videos are a bop. A lot of the character demo videos as usual for hoyo have great music to react to. There are over a dozen at 2 minutes or so each so it'd make a chunky vid.
The song is to promote this new planet that is basically a dream, where everything can be real, that's why u fight as a giant trashcan with arms( which is a dream come true lol) the clock sounds at the end like you wake up from the dream

I'd check out Myriad Celestia: Fables About the Stars. It's a longer trailer about Star Rail's Aeons (space gods) and the factions/paths that follow them. What's really cool is that the music in the background changes to reflect each deity with a gradual buildup that hits big time with the video's climax.

Yes Star Rail has LOTS of lore. I'm pretty critical of stories in games and in general, but Star Rail has some of the best writing Ive seen in any game as of late (especially with the current 2.2 quest).
I didn't even realize that : The song is ''fake'', it's a damn good lie, exactly like Penaconny, a illusion, a trap. The instrument, is like you said, synthetic, very video games like.

I would like to say that the hoyo games are absolutely briming with story and lore. Like you can do hundreds of hours of going through lore and you wont be done. Can get extremely longn when you're trying to go through the lore of genshin, honkai, and star rail

It's not just _HSR_ , Mihoyo has an in-house music production department called 'Hoyo-Mix,' and I have never, ever heard them miss. They make not only their games feel different, but the different regions within them too. I would highly advise checking out the songs that are in _Honkai Impact 3rd_ 's PVs (promotional videos) and their animated shorts. They also made concerts for _HI3_ , _Genshin_ , and _HSR_ , although the most recent one for _HI3_ was definitely their most impressive so far.

Oh I just realized from your commentary about "it's like they wanted to sound videogame-y" and "it's clearly not a real (guitar)". This music video is a trailer for a region all about DREAMS, so maybe the intention here was to emulate a feeling that this isn't real life, then at the end of the song we hear the alarm to wake up.

I would love for you to see the 88 degrees bedrock remix. Its not really "fully official" however the non remix version does appear ingame from just an NPC however its definitely an amazing song be it remix or not.
HSR has a couple actual song bangers, but a lot of OSTs that are mainly just background music without lyrics.
Yes, it has story. They're also introducing a QOL that arranges the important quests to have a timeline so it's easier to understand the flow of things when this update drops.
So I love how using synth music styles to do the big band instruments adds to the dream theme of, well the entire update. It's false instruments, literally a replication, just like how the dream world is a facsimile of reality. It's like, this is based on a combination of 1900's American cultures, so you got that Jazz, while also being a K-pop song in styling. It's like, admitting it's fake while showing that "Hey, this is what you are signing up for."

Yup this song definitely has story underlying it. Just like that lyric "there's nothing left for me to do, other than going to the other side" could be mean that players have no main/side quest in the game anymore right now , and later need to go to next planet, penacony with new quests. In the game schematic diagram, the planets are shown side by side
