This song is part of the story of my life and once made me cry and it now uplifts me. I turn 62yrs old soon and Pink Floyd has always been a pert of everything. I saw them live in the 1980s and I have always loved them. If you listen to the words you will be able to apply it to a moment in time when you felt lost and lonely yet at the same time it will get you soaring on the wings of eagles. Trust me. I have been through the school of hard knocks. Hi from Australia. 🇦🇺🙏🙏
David Gilmour is so insanely talented. This whole Pulse concert is fantastic, and I love the Gdańsk concert too (especially for High Hopes). Loved your reaction!
Keep going, great reaction. Same concert, SORROW, HIGH HOPES, LEARNING TO FLY. Just amazing stageshow and live music. The 94 Pulse concert is in a league of its own.
David Gilmour: "I suppose you could say there's a theme throughout the album, which involves communication. All, pretty much all the songs are connected to the theme of communication in some way or another. That's what we're trying to create, simply magic. It's as simple as that. Try to create magic, try to move people, move their hearts a little bit ".
Was at Earls Court, London in 1994 for this concert, quite superb as were all their concerts, first saw them in 1972. Privileged to have been alive during their amazing body of work.
Just watching you grooving to the beat, kinda dancing in your seat, really makes me happy. A. hundred times watching this still puts a smile on my face. It makes even the crappy days a little better. Thanks for that.
True story. This album, The Division Bell, came out the year that I met my birth mother. I was 27, and she gave me up as a single 19 year old. These opening lines hit me so closely and hard. "Where were you when I was burned and broken? While the days slipped by from my window watching. And where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless? 'Cause the things you say and the things you do surround me" Think about it. "While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words, dying to believe in what you heard....." She changed her mind after I was born, but my parents lawyer told her that she couldn't. He lied. "Killing the past, coming back to life". We were reunited after 27 years, it was a moment of awakening. I hope you enjoyed my story, I don't tell most people.
This song is divine. Pink Floyd is an epic band in all of their songwriting. But "The Division Bell" album is special to me because it brings indescribably good memories. I'll never forget the blue vinyl record and its cover of two faces looking at each other and from another perspective it's just a face looking at the photo.
Saw this in concert when it came out. Down in Tampa the people who i was riding with didn't take my advice on when we should have left to get there on time so after hearing the concert had started over the radio me an another friend jumped out of the car an ran the last 5 miles to get to the stadium 3 songs In an this was just starting.
Your smile and laugh are absolutely contagious! Love your reactions so far. I love your appreciation of Pink Floyd, and I can def see you enjoy some great guitar playing. I'm sure tons of people have requested Stevie Ray Vaughan, but he is, in my opinion, the greatest guitarists and maybe the greatest musician to ever live. His passion is beyond anyone you will ever watch. He literally has this crazy connection with his guitar and you don't even need his words for him to tell you a story. I think you would love his live performances and think you should give it a shot! Keep up the good work!
The album “ Division Bell” was criticized but I thought it was a great- and IMO live performances are always better. Please do more live Floyd-it’s fun watching you react.
@Nickster64 ELP The only people who could have criticized The Division Bell were pro-Waters zealots. I remember when it came out and it got positive reviews everywhere. I love this album as it feels like it's in the same vein as Wish You Were Here. Cheers!
Anyone criticizing this album isn’t worth worrying about. I have been listening to Floyd for a long time and this is one of their albums that is musically and vocally brilliant. I am thankful that I went to see them on this tour...amazing!!
Lyrically it certainly wasn’t as great as waters but it made up for it as I thought vocally gilmours voice was at his best and the musicianship was great. Much better than momentary lapse even though that was still solid imo
I'm so happy, when someone discover Pink Floyd, one of the greatest music band, i'm french and listen to David Gilmour for a long time. He is à genious to write and play this kind of music.... Thank you for your vidéo 😉
Pink Floyd IS The Greatest Band Ever and Dark Side of the Moon is the Greatest album ever recorded, it's a masterpiece. I've seen Pink Floyd three times, the first was The Wall at the LA Sports Arena, 2/7/1980 in "Quadraphonic Sound". THEY ACTUALLY HAD AN AIRPLANE FLY FROM THE BACK OF THE ARENA, OVER THE CROWD AND CRASH INTO THE STAGE! The Second two times was the Pulse tour at the Rose Bowl 4/17/1994 and 4/18. I've seen Roger on his solo tours four times and Dave on five of his. I've seen the Aussie Floyd seven times and been blessed to be able afford seats in the first 20 rows for all of shows mentioned.
Can I just give some love to the backup singers, they always sound fantastic, look fantastic and are an absolutely essential part of the Pink Floyd experience.
Enjoyed as usual. Anything off of the " Dark Side of the Moon " album, can only truly be appreciated in the studio version. What they did in that album, cannot be re-created.
@@fortch17 I totally enjoy live versions of songs from Dark Side, but it's a different experience. For me, that album is impossible to create in the first place, nevermind re-create; that is a stand alone work of art, like the Mona Lisa.
I also saw them on the DSOT tour - it was as essentially the same set list other than the few new Division Bell songs but we got more old songs. It was a magical night.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shock both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well.
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
The god sent guitar tones from Mr.Gilmour listened to by a lovely PF fan, how can you beat that? Only bettered by seeing PF live in person, I had the honor of doing just that, in Norway in august 1994. Lovely evening for some PF music, will never forget it.
Love this pink floyd track 👌🏻 I’ve actually got the division bell tattoos on my forearms love the reaction just subbed for more pink floyd and Harry Mack, Omegle bar’s 42 52 are pure fire 🔥
This was such a great song that has most meaning to me that has a true life meaning to me. It has a bluesy R&B just makes you want to get up and move "Dat Body"
Say what you like but in my book that guitar solo at the beginning of this song is the greatest musical piece ever performed! And then he sings too?????? I’m blown away, no words...
You’ll like many of the songs from davids solo album on an island. It’s fantastic. Where we start is one of my favorites. It’s another song about his wife polly.
NE-ADV I first heard this song in Prague, during a heavy snowfall, walking back to my hotel after closing the bar in the old part of the city in the wee hours of morning. Pitch dark except the small puddles of light cast by the lamps on the row buildings. If a horse drawn cart had come by on the cobblestoned lane, it would have seemed perfectly normal. Then the intro came drifting out of nowhere, echoing down from nowhere. It was surreal.
The guitar playing on the intro from David is so beautiful, if you want more amazing guitar, please react to some Dire Straits, check out Sultans of Swing Live from the Alchemy concert.
Love this song, always have. Anything from this concert is nothing short of epic. But what I love most is your reaction. Enjoy the journey pretty lady ;) Pink Floyd is a great rabbit hole to fall into.
I’m new to your channel. I love anyone who loves Pink Floyd! Your reaction was great. The smiles on your face tell the whole story of how much you genuinely love Pink Floyd. David Gilmore is a master at guitar and vocals. Doing both is incredibly hard and he does it with ease flawlessly. I’m glad I joined your channel I look forward to hearing more reactions from you. CC
The intro is very moving and of course an amazing performance on the guitar from David Gilmour. From the same album, may I suggest the beautiful ‘Poles Apart’? Thank you for sharing 😊

all songs of Pink Floyd is my favorite 😎👍
David Gilmour, is a greact player guitarrist. Anywhere video him is fantastic.
The message behind this song used to break my heart. I get a much more positive message from this now that I am older.
@@diegoalbertowagner8433 David Gilmour for me is a Very close second, to my all time favourite Mr Iommi.
You should do sorrow from the same concert. It’s phenomenal
David gilmour the genius who makes grown men cry with a guitar

How true!
I’m not crying...you’re crying! You just see tears in my eyes because your looking at me through your own...

He plugs his guitar into his soul!!! 🎸⚡💓
He Plugs His guitar Into Our Soul !!
Both are correct 👌
When his guitar sings a song on its own is amazing
🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️
“I knew the moment had arrived, for killing the past and coming back to life.”
I can relate to that.
When you hit mid life and you have a few regrets this one hits hard
Sometimes in life we do coming back to life...
When you were hanging yourself on someone elses words dieing to belive in what you heard , kinda prophetic for todays society
Me too.
When you go through a rough break-up.
David Gilmour is so insanely talented. This whole Pulse concert is fantastic, and I love the Gdańsk concert too (especially for High Hopes). Loved your reaction!
Anything floyd is GOLD
Been playing guitar for over 20 years because of David! He puts his soul into his guitar playing like no one else.
Definitely go with the live versions - nothing beats actually seeing gifted musicians practicing their art!
People are super critical of Division Bell, but I think it's excellent personally. Gilmour induced goosebumps as always
Its full of funk soul pop rock and everything in-between solid album 👌
I only have the best words for this album. It's my favorite
