Based on study chewing gum is one of the effective means to relieve anxiety and stress, and as we have known Iam is vocal about his struggle with ADHD. So I hope we can dispense this with 🩵

Hello, IAM mom! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's great to see that you are aware of the research on the potential benefits of chewing gum in relieving anxiety and stress. Given Iam's openness about his struggles with ADHD, it's worth considering incorporating this practice into his routine. Chewing gum could potentially provide him with an additional tool to manage his symptoms and find some relief.
Thank You's IAM & HIS MOM

A lot of vocalists (musicians) chew gum because it actually does help lubricate the vocal cords. Brandi Carlisle (one of the most iconic musical artists of all time) chews gum, The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and I could name countless others!).
II believe we can add our “icon” to this list. Who cares if he chews gum or closes his eyes…. He has such a magical, magnificent voice… if “appearances” keep a person from enjoying incredible music….one must not “know” or truly appreciate this artistry. Thank you @ceecat, for keeping us informed about “our boy.” @crecatco

IAM It's truly fascinating to hear about your first experience with music and how it shaped your musical journey. Your dad's efforts to teach harmonies to your older siblings and your own instinctive ability to sing along at such a young age is quite remarkable. It's evident that your dad's encouragement played a significant role in fostering your love for music, even when others may not have understood or supported it.
It's completely normal to feel nervous before performing, and it's admirable that you've developed strategies to combat those nerves. Using humor and finding a quiet place to connect with your music and calm your mind is a wonderful approach. It allows you to tap into your emotions and create a personal connection with your songs.
Your eclectic taste in music, influenced by your dad's oldies, country music, and the vibrant music scene in Hawaii, has helped shape your unique style. It's intriguing how people perceive your voice as having an island vibe while you have a deep love for country music. The combination of these influences has led to a distinctive sound that resonates with others.
The best advice you've received from your dad is truly valuable. Recognizing that not everyone will appreciate your music is a reminder that artistic expression is subjective. However, staying true to yourself and embracing your individuality is what truly matters. Your ability to touch people's souls through your music is a testament to the power of authenticity and emotional connection.
Thank you for sharing your story and insights with us. IAM & HIS MOM❤❤💖💖🎵🎵🎶🎶💽💽

Your dad was 100 giving you the best advice. Stay true to yourself and your voice is definitely unique. For me when you sing in your language, it’s brings me gentle peace, it’s a soft blanket of tranquility. I hear your voice but as I listen it takes me somewhere else. It’s like I’m standing on sand by ocean waters with a beautiful sunrise or sunset. It’s strange but it’s calming.

For the naysayers , always quick to know all, you obviously haven’t bothered to research (as usual) before telling or “suggesting advice” about how Iam Tongi needs to communicate his magnificent artistry through music. Chewing gum (scientifically) lubricates the vocal cords (a well known fact I assumed everybody knew). Many of our musical icons (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Brandi Carlisle, etc etc etc and I could name many more ) use this method. Seems like naysayers just have to put their “two cents” in and most of the time have nothing to support their “professional advice.” Always negative. I’m sorry for those who let appearances interfere with their ability to just enjoy Iam Tongi’s magnificent voice. It is sad that some have to criticize every little thing about another person. Wow, these folks sure have missed out on much joy and pleasure music brings , because of appearances. This indicates to me a lack of knowledge about or appreciation of this universal desire to “connect” as human beings and ways of bringing love and empathy to the world with this I could go on but will keep my other thoughts to myself. Iam Tongi has an uncanny way of touching people’s soul with his incredible voice , allowing us to relate to each other on another “level.” And as Alanis Morisette said, “Iam has this ability and willingness, in front of the whole world, to display his artistry by bringing empathy to this planet, which is needed so much right now.” Wow, was she ever right.
It makes no difference to me if an artist chews gum, blows bubbles (Paul Mc Carney, Beatles), has his eyes closed, sneezes or whatever. I am here to LISTEN to the music in hopes it will speak to me. I’m glad I can because all those priceless works of art (vinyl records) passed down through my family of people like Hank Williams Jr, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Simon and Garfunkel , Patsy Cline, and that list goes on too) because I never had the privilege of “seeing their appearance.” Iam Tongi please keep putting your message out there with that amazing voice. Just maybe it will get through some thick hearts as well.
